Don't even mention Spain? Come on, man.

Anyway, predictions for today.
Italy will tie Croatia, 2-2, and Spain will beat Ireland, either 3-1 or 3-0.

Or 4-0. Ireland got destroyed. Spain had control of the ball probably 85% of the time, and when Ireland did have the ball they couldn't make much use of it. A lot of back passing trying to find a hole without much luck, or desperate shots with little probability of ever making it in.

The Croatia/Italy game was a lot more interesting. The Croat goal on the 72nd minute was just awesome; hella fast passing and hitting action. I'm not expecting it to happen, but more plays like that and they'd be able to take down Germany or Spain, take your pick.

Hey, at least I got the result right. Yup, Spain dominated their game, poor Irish didn't even stand a chance. Torres looks to be back in the game though, great for Spain.

I'm sure the Spaniards are going through, and I think Italy will as well; they should be able to beat the Irish, and I think Spain will beat Croatia. Croatia and Italy had a nice game, great goals from both of them. Quality performance.

I wouldn't get optimistic about it though till we see how Spain performs against another high tier team like Croatia. Nobody was expecting the Irish to stand much of a chance. If anything, it was just an opportunity for Torres to recover from his unenviable performance against Italy and get their morale back into shape.

I'm hoping to see a victory for both England & France tomorrow. I don't normally start cheering for the underdogs until later in the tournament I like to see lots of high tier team make it through the first stage first.

I want England and France to win as well. I think the British will either win 2-1 or tie 1-1, while the French beat Ukraine 3-1 or 2-1. I would be really annoyed if I were Rooney; sitting out the first two games must suck. But hey, at least his team tied the French, which is a good result considering how many players are missing.

EDIT: Who do you think is going to win the whole thing, bliz?

I think now that the young German team has had 2 more years to mature, I'd slightly favor them over Spain. We'll see. There's still plenty of opportunities for somebody to majorly **** up.

Agree that Germany and Spain are two main candidates for winning. These teams look great, but the second half between Germany and Netherlands showed that bundesteam can be stopped. So, we'll see. Actually I think group B is the most interesting one. Netherlands with 2 loses still has a small chance to make it to next round, while Germany with 2 wins still has a theoretical possibility to fail. Still believe in Denmark here

As for today matches, I believe in Ukraine, draw would be a great result, going to come to fan zone again today to support our team!

I think in group B, Germany and Portugal will go through, though I'm not sure. Portugal is playing the Netherlands, but they haven't been doing exactly well this tournament. But then again, Cristiano has been sucking also-if he does bad in this game, who knows? Personally, I think Germany will crush Denmark, sorry, but Germany are just on a whole other level. Denmark beating them would be a huge upset.

England is raping Sweden. Hard.

Edit: Not much team play, reminds me of a normal pub match on LoL, every man pretty much for himself .

I overestimated Ukraine, thought they could score a goal. The French are pretty much certainly going out of their group, hopefully the British will manage to do the same. Doesn't look too promising for Sweden so far.

The problem with england, they get complacent with one goal, then they can't turn themselves back on. Plus, Ibrahimovic is a plain badass.

That's what I'm talking about!
Welbeck, atta boy!

EDIT: What a finish! Absolutely brilliant! Probably one of the best goals scored in this tournament so far, if not the best!

EDIT2: And there goes Sweden! Quite a close run, thought the Swedish had it for a moment, to tell you guys the truth. But my predictions were correct (results, not goals) and the two teams I wanted to win did do so. France and England going out of Group D.

For **** sake if I watched this sport avidly I would be dead before I was 60. That England vs Sweden game was INTENSE. Sweden put on an a commendable effort, but the lankish giants' size was outdone by the other team's edge of pure skill imo. Some nice plays from the English team of quick-footed jackrabbits. I still think the highlight of the game was the first English goal, henceforth known to me as "The Headbutt of Destiny". I'm very happy to see wins from both England and France

2nd team to go home. I'm not going to be around to watch tomorrow's game, but I'm not overly excited for either of them.

Tomorrow's games won't be too good. Predicting them anyway, though. Poland will either beat the Czechs 2-1 or tie 1-1, while Russia will beat Greece 3-1 or 3-2.

So... favorite football players in the tourney everybody? I currently give my favorite of the tournament to Ashley Young on the English team. Did anybody else note how hilariously energetic he is? The dude should be nicknamed the Energizer Bunny. I love seeing him as a midfielder just fearlessly charge the ball and carry it to wherever it needs to go. It was particularly awesome against the Swedish team because the difference in size was enough to be clearly noticeable. No fear; no hesitation. Dude seems to be pretty damn fast.

I don't follow the game outside of the big tourneys so I don't know how famous of a player he is, but he stood out to me in the last game.
