Regardless if they win or not,I bet the egyptians will still be sorry that they won't go to South Africa in the summer. They may be the most successful African team regarding the Cup of Nations, but they haven't played in a World Cup since 1990,that's 20 years now...
EDIT: The Final ended 1-0 for Egypt thanks to a late goal by Geddo.Ghana didn't play badly but it was not enough. So Egypt wins their third Africa Cup of Nations in a row and their seventh overall.
The third place match was yesterday with Nigeria beating Algeria 1-0.

For entertainment's sake, I hoped to see a shootout, but it wasn't to be. Too bad Egypt won, Ghana were my favorites ever since the competition started. And since United smashed Arsenal 3-1 this afternoon, it was a very bad football day for me.

You can cut Liverpool from that list. The Gunners hadn't lost to Liverpool since 2006 (if we don't count that Champions League quarter).

Arsenal defeated Liverpool in many occasions since then.

Poland and Ukraine are automatically qualified as hosts.
The group winners and the best runner-up will qualify, while the other eight runner-ups will go to a play-off round.
I think it could have been better for Romania. While I prefer France to England,Germany,Spain,Netherlands etc,Bosnia will be a very tough opponent.

I watched the draw at TV, and I really hoped we would end in the group with Hungary and Moldova.

This is not a good draw for Romania; I think we fight with Bosnia for the second spot, but we have good chances of being the best runner-up and qualify automatically, because the other three teams are toast.

Yeah Zam,it would have been nice to play against our "dear neighbours"
Actually I am glad we were drawn against France again, since there were stronger teams in Pot 1 we could have been drawn against. On the other hand,we were unlucky to be in the same group with Bosnia.I'd say we have our chances, this group is easier than the one for the 2010 World Cup was anyway.

Hope we get Wales at least. Ok, we can't, they are not like before... England beat us with no problem, its going to be first match with them since... lol, lots of years... eh, but the times of Gungi were soooooooo long ago. Montenegro, we played with them last time (draw and win), they are nearly owr power, Switzerland... they beat us . My prognosis is 3th or 4th place.

I heard there are actually plans for Romania and Bulgaria to co-host EURO 2020.

Until then, Romania changed their home kit from the traditional yellow to red, as the new sponsor requested. Now Romanian kit looks like a cheap copy of the Spanish one.

Yes Zamfir that's sad, yellow is our traditional color... the great team of Hagi played in yellow and we were also among the few European teams playing in yellow (in fact the only other teams I can think of are Sweden and Ukraine).Sponsors deciding the color of a national team...sad but true.

I watched the Milan-Man. United match, but this is sadly a deserved win for United (I'm a Milanese).

Milan started very well, scored early, missed a lot of occasions, but were unlucky with Antonini's injury. Leonardo had to replace him and send 38-years old Favalli in the fray. Antonini was the one who had the job to annihilate Nani, and Favalli was simply not able to block the Portuguese anymore.

A short time after the injury, Scholes equalised after a cross from Nani's side (obviously), and after another 10-15 minutes of even play, United started to dominate,as Milan's side of old players got tired. Rooney scored two goals with the head after some very good crosses, but I think Dida should have been able to do more at the first one.

At 1-3, Leonardo had to throw his 35 years old vets, Seedorf and Inzaghi. The first scored a wonderful 2-3 goal after a fabulous combination with Ronaldinho (without any doubt, the best Milanese on the field). The former missed an incredible chance to make it 3-3 just the next Milan attack after the goal.

Carrick got sent off in stoppage time, so he won't play in the second leg. This is a good thing, but Milan has very low chances to progress to the next round, as they have to score at least twice.

It's a deserved win by United, but it could have been different with Antonini on the pitch.

It was a great game on San Siro, nice summary by Zamfir.I'm still rooting for AC Milan but it will be very, very hard for them to qualify now.
About the other game, personally I expected Real to lose. They have many star players but they don't form a team yet.Lyon could have won by even more goals.Of course,a one goal difference can be easily changed in the second leg,so we haven't seen the last of the Galacticos.
