Well I just hope it's only some 'perks' that are getting restricted then, cause anything more would be murder on the replayability. mind you, from what they've told us already, I think we're looking at a massive change in the secondary skill system, which may or may not utterly invalidate any previous experience with levelling up heroes.

I think it's Lamassu, considering the fact that all other neutrals in the area belong to necropolis.

And there they are:
Quote: Among the Pao islandsOrcs, the Jagua Warriors are elite berserkers. Of their people, they are the tallest, the strongest and the meanest. To become a Jaguar Warrior, an Orc brave must first kill a saber-toothed jaguar, one of the fiercest predators of the islands, with his bare hands. Needless to say, the mask of a Jaguar Warrior often hides numerous scars earned during this perilous rite of passage. In combat, they rush violently and blindly into the enemy, raking with their obsidian claws. Jaguar Warriors are often used as honor guard by the greatest Orc chieftains and shamans.
I love the non upgrade, the best Orc of the faction . But I don't know if I like the upgrade...
Also, another hint that we might get a Sabertooth as a neutral...

Well, in my opinion, the jaguar/panther warriors look much better in-game, than on the concepts... I wonder, whether it's the same with all the other units...

1. Yay! It's an Orc, not an Ogre or Troll! Now I'm kinda relieved to know that for a fact...
2. So sabertooth jaguars exist in Ashan and by the look of the skull, they're quite big n' mean! Wonder if we'll ever see them.
3. Also the skulls tied on his hip, look human... Is he really that big? All n' all, he's very impressive. A fine replacement for H5's Slayer.
4. Berserker, huh? That hints about his abilities.

Quote: The new screenshot is here. Most interesting thing is the creature in the center of the picture.
There's something more interesting in this picture !
On the top of the picture, near the bridge, could that be a neutral hero ? I mean, it's a hero, but it has the same symbol as the Necropolis creatures under him.

If those are really human skulls they cant be orcs, and tehy should be big creatures in combat. Maybe those are goblin skulls, or I dont know
The comcept itself looks pretty good. 1 thing that makes them a bit funny for me are the feathers If they are Jaguar/Panther warriors why they need feathers?
EDIT: If they post one concept per week they have 2 weeks left (cyclops, shaman) if they reveal the 5th faction in march. Maybe after then we get something more interesting?

I've gotta say I love the jaguar warrior, what's more bad@ss than a warrior tearing apart a freaking jaguar with his bare hands and then putting on his claws and skulls as trophies? I too expected a slayer kind of unit but I liked the change.

Jaguar Warrior is the worst unit of the Stronghold imo. It pretty much repeats the same mistake as the Thane did: We have regular size Orcs that are core and then super size Orcs that are Elite. And the claws are way overdone on the Panther.

If they repeat the same mistake as they did to Thane, then we must have a great creature in battle
But Jaguar warriors and "normal orcs" in the same faction might be a bit boring. I would give a bow to the core orc and give other weapon to centaurs, at least centaurs could use their horse bodies

Have to Agree with alcibiades
This Orc seems boaring. Ad the worst. It replaced the Poa-kai.. A berserker orc is a nice idea but why make him doublesized.
And why do all berserkers in Ashan have No weapon but just clws or similar?

Because the lead game designer jerked off on Wolverine as a kid.

Very different because unlike Dwarves, nobody expects a certain "size" for an Orc and the lore allows them to have various specimen due to the magical experiments and all. Otherwise it's just going in circles when it comes to racial units, I believe at this point this should be as natural as Heroes not being a RTS, just like how we always get a faction that has men in armor, one of them with a spear, other with a crossbow and the third riding a horse, or the obligatory "everyone died but came back to life in some kinda decayed form" faction which to me is FAR less imaginative than 2 Orcs with different heights.

A giant orc seems more likely in my opinion than an oversized dwarf-giant. Besides, it has a much better background and style than the thane had. Sure, the upgraded one might be a bit "quarterback" and i like the jaguar warrior more. But the whole jaguar/panther thing makes sense and fits very well with the aztec-theme, for me itīs far from the "giant orc" of H5 and the arguments against that.

Jaguar Warrior replaced the Slayer, not the Wyvern. He serves the same purpose as the Slayer did in H5. A big badass Orc that will rush straight to enemy lines. Well now maulers do it too, I don't know, but back then the warriors were defensive units. 6/7 Stronghold units have their own counterparts back in H5. If you want to lament about the Wyvern's loss, then blame the Harpies!
I, for one, like Harpies in the Stronghold better than Wyverns. Maybe if swamp town ever comes back, they're gonna need them.
Gameplay-wise, Slayers were my favorite units back in H5 Stronghold. What with their Cleave attack + Bravery, they very oftenly performed four attacks per turn. I hope Jaguar Warriors will be just as ferocious!
Basing solely on the creatures line-up (since I don't know about abilities yet), for me this is the best Stronghold yet!
All that's left to see is if it plays out as good as the H5 one.

Typically orcs are pretty big you know, that goes for various fantasy settings. Like the description says, only the bigger, meaner and taller orcs apply for the honour of killing a jaguar with their bare hands and it's not hard to figure out why

But you gotta admit from the screenshots, it's not just a matter of one being taller than the other. We're speaking about one being double the size of the other, and I figure the Mauler is already a good size compared to the average human.

Oh come on guys... The stature of the Jaguar Warriors on the minimap is probably not the best indication of their actual hight while they indeed look twice as big as a normal orc in the screenshot I doubt that'll be the case in the actual unit screen.
And why why is it so weird that we have big orcs? They're elite Stronghold warriors so they're suppose to be above average so of course they'll be bigger. So not all orc children are going to be Jaguar Warriors but the ones that perform their own c-section at birth probably will. Are they many? No they're genetically predispositioned for absurd muscle growth. It happens. That's why they're elite. How does that not make sense that you only take the best of your stock?
