Whilst I agree it is good news in the long run, it drives me mad with curiosity why.
They must have either changed their mind on something or came up with something new or ran into a technical issue which might need parts of the game to be recoded.
Well there are other scenarios but those three spring to mind.
Long development cycles are good, just take a look at Dragon Age II, a LOT of corners were cut.

General polish and improvement. In other words: to maximise the fun in the game as well as functionality.

Quote: Is it 100% that there is same pool from which you recruit all core creatures?
Here are few of my random thoughts about it. Keep in mind that it includes 2 assumptions which if proven wrong render the complaint useless.
1st premise - shared pool for all core creatures. In haven's example it would mean shared pool for priestesses/marksmen/sentinels
2nd premise - might/magic hero stats boosting appropriate unit stats. let's say we have a might hero.
Issue at hand - From what i gather might hero will mostly improve their might attack and might defense stats (at least compared to magic ones), which in turn affect the stats on sentinels and marksmen, while making sisters fall behind in stats.
My worry is that after few levels there one unit of certain level will become too good compared to other one, simply by the fact that it's stats got boosted while other one's weren't.
I reckon in your castle you can recruit all tier troops.
It's in the external dwellings where you can choose which troops to buy in their particular group (core, elite) eg. specializing in Archery, you'll go for Marksmen in dwellings.
My vibe is hero might stats increase all troops whether they are might or magic based. Hero magic stats affect the hero not troops (like in H5). The magic certain tiers can cast (eg. priestess) are based on their numbers, not the heroes stats, but certain hero abilities will affect their performance (eg. healing).

So, game is delayed for September 8th. Do they still call it a "Spring 2011 release"?
Seriously, though, I'd rather have them fix the game than release something that doesn't work *cough*HeroesV*cough*. One can hope they'll change some of the things we've complained about [Spring Spirit].

To be frank and honest, the push-back is something that doesn't bother me that much. Sure I looked forward to playing Heroes in my summer-break. But if it means the game will be more polished, more balanced and several esthetics are changed for the better(you all know what I mean), then by all means push it back to next year if need be.

Those assumptions seem correct from what we've been told. And also, unlike DoubleDeck reasoned, external dwellings simply add to the overall creature-pool. I.E. having an extrenal core-dwelling means you get x more core creatures to recruit as you see fit.
Now concerning your issue I'm less worried. While it seems right that Marksmen and Preatorians more I'd guess would get bigger statboosts with a might hero. But with Vestals lagging behind, I assume they fit more into a support-role of healers. Whereas magic heroes, boosting Vestals more, would encourage to use Vestals as offensive units, with Preatorians falling into the role of pure arrowfodder/meatshields.

About delay, I see you people are very happy
Well, Im not!
Why?...the fact is most of you bought a copy thats suppose to be released in june. So you agree to invest money in a lazy company, which gave you no explanations about why and if in september! Classical "game" I would say, but if you agree, y not?
At least they could've release a beta today, but why should they, till most of you are happy with some jokes of some pictures about plastic figurines - hahahahahahahaha!

Lazy? It's not ubi working on the game. If you can accuse ubi of something it's horrible deadline estimations, uneven pace of updates and poor anti-leak measures

Would you rather have paid money for an unfinished game ? Would you be happy if the game required 5 patches and would then be playable around Xmas because they had to cut down many things to make it ready for a June release ? You pay the same amount of money, now the difference will be the final quality of the product.
Go play unpatched H4 or H5 and tell me if that would please you for H6 as well

About the recruiting: Well that's what I was saying, you will have all seven tiers to recruit in your town, and then if you have eternal dwellings, you will be able to recruit extra troops, but can decide in what ratio in the particular group (core, elite).
All troops will get might stat increases from the hero, whether they are might or magic (casters) troops. If they lack the might stats due to magic hero, then the spells that the hero can cast will balance this weakness out (how heroes has always been)....I can't think of some troops getting might and some troops getting magic under one hero....

I wake up this morning to find out the following:
-Game is delayed (AGAIN) to September 8th
-There are no dwellings to recruit Neutral creatures
-Heroes primary stats will kind of auto-correct, meaning there won't be surprises in this when you face an opponent
I normally look for the positives, but this news stinks. I'm highly disappointed in the developers
