I would have scripting system like in Heroes IV map editor - it was just enjoyment to make scripts there

Hopefully a non-equipped hero will run around with a paper bag on his head because he is so damn fugly without cool artifacts. This will really trigger the player into finding those powerful arties that are so much needed, I mean who on earth will want to have a ugly hero?

And yeah I agree with Aosaw and LichKing012, the editor should both be powerful and user-friendly.
Most importantly it should be a lot less slow then the H5 editor.(god it took hours just to use it, or maybe that was just for me... )

I still want the RMG. I have no use for a Map Editor. That is my only request.

Sure, then why don't we turn it all back to 2D? That doesn't affect strategy and gameplay either. Even better, why don't we make it a text-based game, huh? Eyecandy is not useless. Actually, given today's wants of a casual gamer, it's the most useful feature of the game. And in the end of it all, I don't have some sort of super-computer, but H5's 3D Town Screens did not affect the game's performance at all. And neither should yours unless you haven't upgraded your PC's since H4 got out... I still say that the only reason you want 2D towns back, is because it brings you closer to H3.

What I get from their Q&A's and interview is that this is not ready yet or we haven't decided on that yet and blah, blah, blah. So either they're lying or they need more time.

I am with you on he RMG. I hate making my own maps as I lvoe the fun of discovering them. But then it can be so hard to find maps you like from others unless there is someone out the gifted and dedicated enough to churn at a bunch of big maps.

I have a question about the release of the Map Editor. They said that they aim at providing us with the tool before the release of the actual game - do they still adhere to this policy or we'll get the Editor with the game? With their plans to announce the 5th faction no earlier than March and given that this will be "shortly before the release of the game" I suspect we'll have the Editor with the game and not before that (they can't give it to us before announcing all the factions), but it's worth asking.

Ah, the new screenshot is out. A chained Albino Cyclops is the Catapult for the Stronghold. Hmm, he should at least be bigger than the regular ones... Overall, I'm not very impressed with the unique catapults. Great idea and all, (more unique features/faction = good!) but they have not been very creative with it.

But the Harpy looks magnificent with her wings spread!

You know, have we seen any screenshot with a battle formation of seven units? I can't seem to remember if we did because very oftenly is just six of them... I don't suppose they will a pull a nasty trick like that and only have six slots for the hero's army?

I've gotta admit I'm somehow disappointed with it. After fairly original (in case of Inferno and Necropolis) or at least good looking (Haven) ones we have one common cyclop throwing stones. I truly expected something better.

Ubi has posted the Stronghold screenshot on FB. Ppl, who know how it's done may post it in the artwork thread in HD, thanks

So far we found out the Stronghold "catapult", and I dont think, that anyone will be suprised, about it Only "fail" about it IMO, is that the Cyclops throws bigger rocks into the distance, than the ones he is chained to. So I dont see why he couldn't go away in the middle of a siege, and let the orc buddies pray to him like:
"No, Big Larry, please dont go away, just throw some rocks on them, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease"

If you think about it, it is just one Cyclops. What makes him better from a stack of Cyclopes who would be hurling rocks on enemy walls all together? This Catapult is kinda pointless, isn't it? But if this one was more monstrous looking, bigger or more demonic, then it could be excused.

OR...
While playing Strongholg, your Champion stack is stuck as catapult during siege.
That would mean you control a catapult that is as much powerful as you got Cyclops.
However, not having Champions on the field is painful...

Didn't Ubihole say that some (champion?) units will be able to attack walls as well? That would make the single catapult cyclop even more ridiculous. If they only used some other, new creature, perhaps even Behemoth (an excelent way how to reintroduce it)...

Actually if they swiched back to 2D Town screens I was more disapointed than anythink so far. When my precious Infetno was fully built I spent muvh time just waching all the town, and I liked it soooooooo much

I quite like this albino cyclops as a catapult! When I play Stronghold gonna get myself EXPERT WAR MACHINES pronto! lol

Oh my ... I just fell in love with the Pit Fiend !

Abilities :

Hateful Retaliation (Basic & Upgrade): Pit Fiends never forget to retaliate against a creature that has done them damage in a battle, no matter where they are on the field of battle.

Blinded by Rage (Basic & Upgrade): Nothing can control its anger on a battlefield and it is immune to all mental attacks that would affect even the strongest of wills.

Blade of Hatred (Basic & Upgrade): When confronting a Pit Fiend the attacker might become momentarily infected by its hate. At that point anything can happen, and one might even attack an old friend over some ridiculous old squabble, until brought to reason by an attack from the true enemy on the battlefield.

Boundless Hate (Upgrade): A Pit Lord is the embodiment of pure Hatred. When it leashes its Boundless Hate, all enemies on the battlefield suffer the consequences, and even his allies take note.

I don't get the last one but the 3 others are just great

OMG!!!!!!!!!
The 3D models are so cool, that I just can't tell how amazed I am! They are sooooo perfect! Even the creatures that looked bad in the artworks! I mean the Seraph and Sister are awesome and the Lamasu and Weaver are awesome and the Breeder and Succubus are awesome and even the Harpy is awesome!!!
