Stronghold heroes look like humans, but not all of them are human. Remember that one of the characters is an Orc (the Orc of Sandor's story).
But yes, if you wanted them to look like something different, that's  bad thing.

Wow... I actually love the designs for ALL of ther heroes....
That's kinda annoying actually...

These are all the male designs though, I want to see the female designs too.

Necropolis Might heroes looking exceptionally good, and the tears Inferno Magic hero has me intrueged at his name and ability.
Actually they all do, but that one most of all.
Inferno Tears heroes seems like something right up my ally, dark and vile heroes redeemed.
My favorite, more benevolent inclined creatures of darkness and chaos.

It's so much fresher then any of the other 3 on that axis.
"Light" creature who is benevolent.
"Light" creature who is corrupted.
"Dark" creature who is spiteful.
Those 3 are common, but a "Dark" creature who is redeemed, that's something you see rarely.

Ofcourse I'm being careful about the wording, I'm aware Blood and Tears are not "Good" and "Evil".
But Blood seems like the way to go for Inferno, a Tears Inferno hero seems almost out of character (when approached as a stereo-type)

At first I actually thought standard one was on the right, but on second look, I deffinitely agree, it must be Standard > Blood > Tears.

Btw. the look really awesome, even if the upgrades are pretty much just an upgrade of the basic models. Hope we'll have some official artworks and names soon.

The only heroes of the group I don't like- the Necropolis Might heroes. They look weird for some odd reason.

They'll be very simillar to male, since we already know two of them (Haven Might "Normal" and Necropolis Magic Tears - Sveltana)
But I wouldn't mind see the female version of Inferno Magic Hero

Is that a fact or just a hunch?

Probably quite similar yes, but I'm hoping for different enough to tell at a glance.
The Inferno Magic and both Stronghold Heroes will be probably most effected by the gender swap, as the males of those factions are either bare chested or have little in the way of chest armor.
I wonder if they feel ballsy enough to go for the same outfit though. (provided they don't over-animate and over endow them, it should be acceptable, I mean there are a few ways to handle that kind of nudity, like with subtelty and class OR the Team Ninja (or IN YOUR FACE) aproach.)

Looking at the designs for the Glory and Spring Spirit, I think they just might.
Oddly enough, the creature with the most reason to have her tits out, the succubus is looking more classy and restrained then two "pure maiden spirit" type creatures....... peculiar...

Interesting infos from the Gamespot preview :

Heroes VI has a new zone-of-control mechanic that lets you capture and hold any nearby resource nodes as long as you also own the town that exerts control over the region.

This game mechanic goes hand in hand with Heroes VI's new town portal fixture (an actual building fixture you can build early on as part of just about any town belonging to any faction), which lets your heroes instantly teleport themselves between the towns you own. Together, these features are intended to curb the age-old problem of hiring throwaway heroes to sneak into enemy territory, flag all your foe's mines, and run away with their resource income until they can send along an errand-boy hero of their own to personally recapture those key locations. While eliminating the tedium of flagging mines and running away definitely seems like a step forward for the series, letting players build town portals all over the place sounds like a huge change for the overall gameplay.

Sieges in Heroes VI involve one--and only one--siege engine, the catapult, which, as ever, still has a random chance of knocking down a wall to let attackers inside the keep. Ballistae, ammo carts, and first-aid tents are all gone--instead, these effects are replaced by your hero's powers, which, depending on their strength rating, may take one or more turns to recharge before they can be used again.

I already hate the Town Portal system

I have a feeling the Town Portals are likely to have a few restrictions not mentioned.

I'm going to guess it's only from TOWN to TOWN, in other words, no forts, and it's questionable if you can even port a hero who's not in a town. (though sufficient mana and access to a Town Portal spell might fix that.)

Another guess is that the portal structures built in towns might be very expensive.

Another guess is there might be a fee, to port from one town to another.

Another guess is that your hero might have to meet certain requirements before being allowed to use it, like say in HoMMV where you needed a certain level before being allowed to town portal.

*highly unlikely* Another guess is that by "Fixture" it might imply that at least on some level, you might be able to "link" a hero to a specific town for portal purposes.

There might be more to this portal thing then we know.

Listen to MrDragon he's a very wise Dragon.

Besides I take to OP-system in H3 any day over the boring slow and crappy system in H5. But that's just what I think...
This will fix the late game logistic problem that I hated in H5.
However just like MrDragon says, there is probably(and hopefully) going to be fitting restrictions to this.

I hope so. Every one knows how the TP spell in H3 was an ultimate wapon. It was rather bad in Heroes V but giving everybody a nclear missel doesn't solve the problem of there potential danger.

In heroes II the spell was extremly rare
In heroes III you had to finde the spell and know a specific secondary skill
OOn the other hand in heroes V the spell was more or les useles (but not hat much like Instant travel)

The town portal is an important topic that needs precise balance.

I can't imagine it will work any differently from H3's Inferno Castle Gate, and that was hardly game-breaking. Underpowered, really, compared to the Town Portal spell. If it's an expensive building, along the lines of Artifact Merchants, or something, I'm totally cool with it. Using less throwaway heroes is always a good thing, and if this helps with that, then awesome.

Probably you will need such a portal in both towns you want to travel between. Like the hellgate from the inferno faction in H3. Does anyone remember it made inferno overpowered because of this ?  not me

It also probably restricts the other buildings you can build.  Didn't they say something about each town only being able to build a certain number of buildings that aren't related to creature production?

If building a Town Portal means not building something else (such as, say, a building that gives all your heroes +1 Spellpower), that will be a much more difficult decision than if you can have a town portal in every town.

well, I hope it is a special building of only one faction. But if it is indeed universal, I'm certain they will take that in account when balancing the game. Otherwise...

That's right - they did say something about being limited to the number of Special Buildings per town - it would actually make it a tough choice between a Portal and something else... especially interesting if you have to take up 2 Special slots, one in each town, to make it functional. Man, am I psyched for this game!
