Oh, we have a spell "Sunburst". It looks spectacular though the low damage. Also it seems like some cold spell had been casted around the dead Lamasu or the tarrain deceives? Again Air Elementals

Wondering, are the Air Elementals summonable? I'm thinking it's a pretty good unit for sanctuary, since they have that soaking feature. Soaking + Air elemental (I assume they deal air damage) = ouch

In May 12 it's a little bit smaller but clearly seeable. That's why I wrote "again". The Air Elementals icon in the bar looks cool and like Negativland said what is this sign next to the icon. Also the arrows up to Vampires and Medusas, pardon Coral Priestess icons.

I like your thinking Had not crossed my mind.

PS the resources that go to music, marketing or merchandise are not likely to be pooled into the game. Some people seem to think that skipping on some would even bring the game's release sooner but this is not true.

I bet its going to be similar to KB.  That's the first thing I thought of when I saw it.  And I'm pretty sure the developers already stated that the battlefields in H6 will be more dynamic than past battle maps.

well in KB they are known as "Idol" there are 2 kind statues (CMIIW), the first one give buffs, some even resurrect specific random unit either ally or opponent. Some cursing random creatures of both sides. The Idols can be destroyed and has a specific HP (although the "Fortification" system in H6 comes to mind). Well there are also random treasure chest that can be opened by creature by sacrificing their current turn if the chest in their movement reach.

I liked most things about the King's Bounty combat system. Not saying H6 should replicate it exactly, but if it takes some inspiration there I'm cool with that. Battlefield objects and more activated creature abilities would both be good to see. Hopefully not random treasure on the battlefield though.

I wonder if battlefield sizes are variable? I haven't counted up the squares but this battlefield looks a tad larger than I expected.

I love the Sunburst spell. At first I thought it would be a whole battlefield effect but looking closer it seems like it will only hit creatures under the centre or standing in one of the rays. Also seems quite powerful despite the stated intention to nerf direct damage spells. Wonder if the spell only affects undead or if necro will take extra damage from all light magic?

And it "only" took them until 3 months away from release to show us the first spell.  

So, I guess Sunburst is basically the new Word of Light spell.

I guess so. Word of Light still exists though, but just as the inquisitor's ultimate (and it has the "gain health" twist to it). Maybe it's like Crayfish suggested, some sort of area spell that hits in certain directions (stone spikes style)?

[edit] taking a closer look, the kappa seems to be in the way too but he's doesn't have a problem. Is light damage something that only affects necro / maybe inferno units?

I kind of liked the random objects on a map in KB.  Don't forget about the exploding barrel (similar to the homm5 arcane crystal), bee hive that would attack the closest creature, buffing/cursing statues, etc.  I agree that treasure chests on the battlefield should be removed from Heroes 6 though.  

Unfortunately I don't think there will be many creature activated abilities in Heroes 6.  It was something that added a lot of dynamic interest in Kings Bounty battles.  I also liked how a creature using an ability didn't use up its whole turn.  Ranged creatures also didn't lose the ability to shoot if they moved 1 tile.  

Sunburts looks pretty neat.  The medusa type creature doesn't look good IMO, but I do like the air elemental.  I think they said that all elementals are available only through summoning.. hopefully that is not the case.  

Something that could be neat is that there could be a very small % that each summon elemental will randomly summon a more powerful version.  I.e., 3% of all summon air elemental casts will summon both the air elementals AND a primordial elemental (something of Champion quality).

Beta on June 28th will enable you to play 3 maps (2 single player and 1 multiplayer).  In other words, Beta will let you play 30% of the maps lol.  

Elvin/other Insiders: Do you know if the maps that come with the game will have restrictions (i.e. only single player, set factions for each color, etc.) ??  I hope instead that the maps are free of restrictions and all of them can be played on multiplayer as any faction.

Maybe it damages only enemies and no allies?
