I actually know why they made all towns alike - it's easier for programmers to solve the converting...

As I have some programming knowledge, I don't think converting would be harder if there would be different building trees. Special buildings are not converted at all.

besides nobody asks programmers what would make their lives easier...
that is not their call they just make whatever they are told to do

and there is no difference for a programmer if all the buildings are different or not, it's same amount of work, they just make a map what becomes what and that's it

The towns are no more alike than previous heroes games, all had the same:

- Town -> City -> Capitol
- Fort -> Citadel -> Castle
- 7 creature dwellings
- Market Place
- Tavern/Hall of heroes

Then the other buildings are different depending on faction....so not sure what you mean that all towns are alike, it's always been like that.....

think it's just that now they have same layout, whereas it was somehow masked in previous titles, and you were looking more at a 'pretty pretty' screens than the construction screen.

Frankly, the only thing that has changed is the unique horde dwellings like +4 growth to sprites and such. It's just that H6 feels more uniform about it. Unique buildings are exactly 2/4, all unit growth buildings are included in the upgrades, tree plan looks about the same and the concept of tiers further gives that impression.

It is not the fact that there are more or less but there are no conditions for structure.
1-2 building have disaapieard (Mage and thievs guild) (and thats 6 structures in total)
No unite has any conditions except the town level. It loses its unique feeling. And lowers the tactical part (in combination whith the low number of Rare rescoursec)
there are even no unite restrictios. I can have Goolires wvitout build priesteses. Riders whitout sentinels.

Everithing seems just to easy to get. I do not need to domore the get the money and there mine.

it had its logic. I need a Mage Giuld to build liches, they have to have a place where thay can lerne magic. I need a tavern to build my drunken dwarves and I need a theivs guild for my spies to spie.
This is the Main reason why the town build trees are dull. They lack this logical chain.

i think that this is a problem, and it may require some changes, as they tried to spice up some things like moving elite to T1 for stronghold, bot what is the use of that when i can build all from get go once i have capitol.

And what if I don't need sentinels but I need riders for my tactics. Now I don't have to buy sentinels' building.
IF I buy sentinels, I may not have enough resource for my riders. I can choose which one I buy. THIS is the tactical part. I don't like restrictions and prerequisites.
Actually I'm thinking more what to build in heroes 6 than in previous heroes games ever. Building prerequisites that I don't need is just annoying.

makes sense, and then they only have to copy-paste the same tree over and over and just change values inside it.

Agreed, I thought building prerequisites were more annoying than useful and more tactical. It seems to be quicker what you can choose and strategize accordingly which I like....

@ Dave_Jame -> I also agree with your comment though about lacking the logical chain and this being the main reason why the town build trees are dull, but I think it's something we need to get used to and it won't be dull after a while.
