Problem is, pretty much no matter what faction they cut, we ARE going to lose some unit that seems essential to the series.
unless they are neutrals
moreover, the titan is the only level 7 shooter. all levels 7 can't be flyer.
I'd guess the hydra as the 5th champion unit, that way there is at least one walking champion unit

We don't know the line-ups yet, so it's too early to say how many flying champions are there. Necro's champion might be the Spider Queen, Inferno's Devil may lose his teleport ability (although I doubt that), we have absolutely no idea what the new faction's champion is and even if Sylvan are in, that doesn't mean that the Emerald Dragon will be their champion. The developers might want to cut the number down the number of dragons after the fans complaints and it's not like the Green Dragon is the nature's faction staple unit, unlike elves and unicorns.

There is something I have been wondering lately. They say that the Griffin duchy is reminiscent of Slavic Europe. That's why the members of the Griffin Dynasty all have Slavic/Russian sounding names.
So when this is the case, what do the other Duchies resemble? DO they corrospond with other European regions? And if so which Duchy resembles which region?
I especially ask this to the Insiders as they may ask this to the developers as well. Particularly our Resident Scholar: Cepheus.

Yes, they do indeed. Actually, we just asked that question the other day; great minds think alike. I believe I can share the knowledge since it's hardly a H6 spoiler.
Griffin duchy: Slavic/Eastern European
Stag duchy: Ireland ()
Unicorn duchy: England
Wolf duchy: Germany
Bull duchy: Italy/Spain
Greyhound duchy: France

Hey, thanks a bundle Cepheus.
That leaves the Falcon and Raven Duchies without a particular setting. That's odd, right?

I can see the reference to Spain (my home country) in the Bull Duchy, but not to Italy.
About what someone mentioned of we loosing one classic creature (the titan or the black dragon) I think that it's possible that we still get both:
-If the 4th faction is academy/wizards, then we can have the titan normally.
-If the 5th faction is the nagas and is repitilian based, maybe we could find beings like medusas (maybe a branch of the nagas with the serpent body and the ability to petrify), basilisks, hydras and Black Dragons.
Last thing, I posted asking for an article that Elvin mentioned that included the complete Necropolis lineup, I would like to know where it's because I can't find the link

But what is the importance of this thing anyway - it's not like there are going to be seven different Haven artworks, no?

I searched xerox's posts but could not find it either. It is possible that it was cleaned, that or it's way older than I remember. Lineup information is confidential so I cannot tell you directly either. Hopefully soon.

It's important to us lorehounds. We, who whish to know the nitty-gritty of the backgrounds and the world. We, who whish the story to be detailed and based to a, to some ridiculous, high level.
Also I'd like to know how those backgrounds come to surface, other than in [insert-nationality-here]-sounding names.
I do suppose it is to much to hope that one of the duchies resembles the Low Countries.(Read: Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg)

Inferno and Juggernaut info..
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=208802&id=161184829587
Inferno
¡°We will burn the world to ash and dance upon its ruins!¡±
The Demons were spawned by Urgash, the Dragon of Chaos, to confront and overcome the children of the Elemental Dragons. For centuries, they have been imprisoned in Sheogh, a mystical jail-world created at the heart of Ashan¡¯s fiery core by the sacrifice of the prophet Sar-Elam.
The heat and lava is something the Demons have evolved to actually appreciate, but the fact that they cannot escape their prision is insupportable. However, a flaw in the ritual weakens the prison when a Bloodmoon eclipse occurs, allowing the demon legions to regain a momentary freedom, that they usually use to swarm and ravage Ashan.
The infernal hierarchy is complex but simply structured; the strongest rule, imposing their will on the weaker, and all bow their horned heads to the six Demon Overlords.
A new leader, Kha Beleth, has started to preach another possibility for demonic organization. He speaks of a world where all demions are created equal and have a right to live freely within and without Sheogh. He is gathering followers, and intends on using the upcoming Bloodmoon eclipse to gain a foothold on Ashan, ans expose, of not impose, his people¡¯s right to an equal place amongst the children of the Dragon Gods.
The Juggernaut. You've seen him in the trailer.
Servants of the Demon Overlord of Destruction, Juggernauts are easily identified by their immense horns and their basalt-covered fists and hooves. In battle, they rush violently (and sometimes blindly) into the enemies lines, impaling their enemies with their horns, crushing them with a swing of their massive arms, or trampling them to a bloody pulp. When needed, they even make good battering rams.
The Juggernaut Ravager is an upgraded Juggernaut.

Hey, Lokheit!! I'm Spanish too!! What a coincidence!!
Also, I totally agree with your idea of the new factions. I think that, seeing as they put the necromancers, they should put they're counterparts, the mages, and the naga faction is almost confirmed. So, as difficult it is for me saying this, because Sylvan is my favourite faction, Sylvan and Dungeon will probably be in an addon.

The Stag and Raven duchies splintered off from the Falcon and Griffin (EDIT: thanks) duchies respectively, so they don't represent individual Earth nations of their own. Just more Irish and Englishmen.
I kept pointing out that H5 included almost no substantial lore ingame, and on top of the bad storyline this made it very difficult to get immersed in their world; they reassure us that H6 will vastly improve on both these fronts. I'm still not going to get too optimistic until I play the game myself, but the teaser trailer looks promising to me.

I am glad I'm not the only one that's hearing them.
But I see no reason no to. The duchies existed likely since or even before Falcon the Great unified the Empire. I understand that it likely will not be the campaigns that tell all these stories, but I see no harm in putting a couple of single scenarios in to do that.
As for the Necropolis line-up, I cannot find it either and I've looked for it a couple of times. I indeed suspect it got deleted along the way. But I still find it likely that it will be what we have deduced from the artwork and screens along the way. Being:
Core: Skeleton, Ghoul, Ghost (+their respective upgrades)
Elite: Vampire, Lich, Spider-avatar lady OR Sphinx/Lamasu/Manticore thing (+their respective upgrades)
Champion: Spider-avatar lady OR Sphinx/Lamasu/Manticore thing (+Upgrade(Depending on which one is the Elite, the other is likely to be the champion.(My bet is on the Spider-avatar lady to be the Champion)))
Edit:
You made a little typo there, Cepheus.

I don't know is this was posted? For me it's pretty much new. This is the respond from the Might & Magic facebook page:
Might & Magic
It does not really replace any previous creatures. You'll have lot of surprises towards the Inferno creatures. What I can tell you is that in the tier system we talked about already (core, elite, champion creatures); the Juggernaut is an elite creature.
PS: Juggernaut is the unit in the early artwork release of inferno creature that people mistook it for Devil. But I think everybody knows it

That's not what it's called either. But I doubt you'll be able to guess its name. It's a little stylised, and somewhat mythologically obscure.

Quote: What we can tell you so far is that there'll be 7 magic schools: The 6 elementary schools (Air, Water, Fire, Earth, Light, Darkness) plus the seventh one, Primordial. You'll hear more about the details later.
I think this is news, right?
but i do preffer Both the H5 and the H3 aproach to magic
H5: 4 Non-Elementary schools (4)
H3: 4 Elementary Schools + Wisdom (5)
H6: 6 Elementary + Primordial (7)
i think it was a good thing what they did in H5, separating the magic schools from elements, it kind of made more sense, at least to me, to separate magic acording to their funtion rather than for their element (for example, in H3 there were some magic/magic schools relations that didn't make much sense, weakening was a water magic, curse was fire magic, hipnotize was Air, etc... but in H5 every "cursing" kind of magic is Dark, Every "blessing" kind of magic is light, etc...)
Is not a terrible thing tho, but i think is a step backwards to return to the elementary magic sistem, and with 7 magic schools, uff...

Great to find a fellow spaniard there, I also think that the 2 elven faction will be included in an expansion with the theme of the war between them.
Quote: the line-up was google translated from french
its basically
core: ghost, skeleton, zombie
elite: vampire, lich, sphinx
champion: spider lady aka avatar of asha
I suppose that the zombie was wrongly translated because we currently have the ghoul.
If the avatars are the champion creatures and there is only one creature on the champion tier, I will have a hard time trying to locate the angels on the same level than other haven creatures instead of being the goto creature because we currently have the "fire avatar" creature.
I expect each tier to be "divided" into sub-tiers or something like that, if it's true what was said that you have a creature pool for each tier, an angel should consume more on this pool than for example a knight (something like: you have 15 points for elite tier creatures, a knight consume 4 points and an angel consume 8 points).

I rather like the idea. H3 was cool since any hero could learn any magic school(with preferences ofc), there were lots of spells, good gameplay variation. However the elements are not all-encompassing and that's why H6 will be better. H5 system was fun but very limiting and also gave less variety for each individual school save maybe summoning.

Agreed!!
i just loved to know the elemental schools will be back, and adding the light and darkness elements!
ok, the primordial element made it sound i bit like age of wonders, who has the 6 elemental schools + the 'cosmo' school...
but it don't matter!
the h5 system was good, but there where to few spells...
