It actually says HAshima, which would then just be in reference to Hashima Island (or just Hashima since Shima is japanese for island) which very often is nicknamed Battleship Island due to its resemblance of a battleship or Ghost Island due to its current state of ruin as well as troubled past. The most interesting is that it has a sea wall, but I find very little that may actually connect to something interesting about the game.

i know its called Hashima, i took shima out of text to see what it ment...but u could be right

It's a likely candidate for the base of operations of a Naga faction. But I don't think the Japanese sounding of its name has anything to do with it all. I'm betting on it mostly due to its geographical position. Tropical island, so close to the Orcish Pao islands (Might v. Magic campaign there? There's this very well based speculation, that the Naga faction will be a Magic oriented one.)

As we saw though, from the controversial leaked images, none of the new units had anything that would hint to a far eastern culture (Japanese and Chinese). These cultures have very distinctive make-up, head gear and jewelry that really sets them apart from others. This kind of fashion did not appear in any of the faces included in the leak. And if I recall right there were at least half a dozen new faces there.

This can only mean that the Naga's cultures haven't been inspired by the Japanese or Chinese ones, so the name Hashima alone, isn't enough to hint that the Naga are based there.

Then you don´t remember much of that leaked image I at least saw a golden asian style crown on the top face. Sure, we don´t even know what those faces mean or belong to, but there have been many hints pointing to an asian theme. The early artwork of nagas, the ghoul description talking about a "naga play" and now the islands of Hashima.

Oh well only time will tell.

The golden tiara is hinting towards a south eastern Asian culture, not a far eastern Japanese one. Granted, Thailand isn't very far off Japan, but still their cultures are totally different.

I must say I’m more bias to kodial79 on this one, the leaked images give a south eastern Asian culture and mixing them with Sino-Japanese would be really difficult, without making them looking really horrendous, but as I posted before the little bit of leaked info was really good hope the Naga Faction turn out to be a great addition to the HoMM universe.

Quote:
The fifth faction belongs to the youngest daughter, im sure we can all agree on that

Yes, my only fear is they don’t go with some ridiculous explanation for hear like:

“There was a young prince who went fishing, a mermaid caught and ...... him, so now we have a young princess who`s a bit fishy”

And I’m saying that because they managed to do it with Sandor and the Orcs and hope  not to screw it up now.

That just sux...

Just as soon as we managed to get Ubisoft to update us with news more regularly, some idiot comes around and leaks more. You know, if there were any trust now it's totally ruined.

If this is real then major suxxor.

Not the creatures themselves, but to have them revealed in such a way. Low quality scans from some random site... they deserved more. Poor Black Hole

Good move from the insiders to edit the post btw, hope no one whines about reuploading the pics.

Meh retarded leaks!
After seeing how they looked, I wanted to be disappointed in the order the developers intended.
I got to see them once before they were removed, and while I didn't take such a good look at them, I can say I wasn't impressed.
Lets hope they will turn out cooler.
And that this doesn't hurt the trust of those insiders that truly are HONEST.... :/

Well, I won't complain again about the lack of news or choices made by Ubi, because we get what we deserve.

am I the only one laughing at this "lack of news"?
Maybe it just was because I waited for Starcraft 2 for 3 years that made me this patient. But let me tell you, Ubisoft might be slow with giving us news, but it is NOTHING, NOTHING compared to Blizzard.

Just to give you a heads-up on the status from my point of view here as a moderator:

Yes, there seems to have been a major leak, again. Actually, there was talk about it already yesterday evening, but since most of you happen to have a life, I managed to contain it then. But I can't be here 24/7, so now the damage is done.

I myself find it both sad and strategically unwise that people from the insider group continue to break the confidentiality that UbiSoft have given them. They might not agree with the strategy or level of information issued, but at least UbiSoft stretched forth a hand by making an insider group, and I guess that was the best we could hope for (even if I myself would have loved to be in it, as all the rest of you). As I see it, what has happened here can only work towards making them less forthcoming next time.

Therefore, for now, I choose to work along with the developers here. Some of you may not agree, but that is the decision I take as a moderator, because I believe that this will make the best chances for us to influence the game in the directions we want. In particular, this means that:

Anybody who upload the leaked images or link to them will be PENALIZED and SILENCED without further warning. I'll try to make sure this announcement is suitably posted and visible, if you see anybody go against this, please ask them to delete it until instructed otherwise.

Oh come one everyone, what is this "Oh no, Ubisoft might get angry and not show us anything else" attitude? They're gonna stop marketing the game because of the leaks? Or we actually owe them something and should feel guilty that we've seen the pictures that they should have shown us long ago? Until recently some people were ready to burn Ubi's marketing department and now are ready to kneel before them and beg for mercy. The summary of this reaction is "Please good masta, don't beat me, I promise that I'll never do this again. Whatever I did..."

This leak did not appear out of a sudden, they had been hosted in that Chinese site weeks back. Apparently Ubi was unable to do something about it so it was a natter of time till news reached some western major site. Guess we now wait for some high res goodness with their descriptions and abilities

As usuall I'll be on the watchout for tidbids to share.

What does Ubisoft say about this? Do they acknoweledge that this has nothing to do with insiders?

One of the other insiders actually discovered and alerted Ubi of the leak in the first place. The guy fully responsible for the previous (and only) spillage also left the insider forum as far as I can tell, so don't fear that any breaches will originate in there. Even so, I agree that keeping the images away from HC is the best option for the moment.

Well, it's really good to know that no insiders or otherwise community members were part of this and instead they tried to prevent it. Ubisoft made a great site for Heroes VI with a promise to update it regularly just for our sake, it would be bad if we repaid that way. If there is no harm done between the relationships of both the community and Ubisoft out of this, I hope both parties will appreciate this.

I posted that "leak".
I personally absolutely didn't know that it was a leak. I just found it on a not so popular forum where the guy who posted it said that it's from a Chinese forum and it is most likely some kind of a fanfic about the fifth faction. He (and I) thought so mostly because of the first 2 units because they are very strange for us, western guys.

So I posted that pic here just for fun and I was 99% sure that this is only a fanfic.

I feel really sorry about that but please don't talk about me so aggressive. From now on nobody can post any picture here because it might be a leak?

And sorry, but Ubi's reaction is *****. Okay, the leak is here (sorry about that again). Do Ubi think that now with this style they'll prevent it from spreading? No, they just make fans more interested and more angry about that.
2-3 months and the game is here and the official website contains 10 (/35) units? 0 spell? 0 thing about game mechanics? 1 neutral unit? 3(/5) towns? Still no intown screens? No gameplay video? Nothing about buildings, artifacts, factions (I don't know what are they )?
With this info speed of course some leaks happen! What is of course a bad thing. But AFTER a leak you can just ignore it or accept it. But starting a war against it? What is it good for?
If the producers give so little information to the community the community will find leaks and get the information by itself.

I 100% agree that you moderater my pic. Moderate this one too if you think so.

And again sorry about the picture!

Pretty nice just in the way that they put everything into one package. But I do not like the inferno picture of the angel over what is titled as Kiril. Before reading it, everytime I saw it before I would and will swear its a girl that the angel/demon is over, not Kiril.

Oh and thermonuclear warfare is not a matter to take lightly, havn't you ever seen War Games

Saturday 1:08:11 About the bastion ...
"We follow our own path. go alone!"

As usual for nomadic barbarian tribes are the Orcs zerüttelte, but a proud survivor of a long pursuit.

During the time of the first dark experiment, the wizards of the Seven Cities of forbidden magic:

By demon blood injected into human criminals, thus the wizards created a new type of mutants: the Orcs. They are therefore half-brothers of the demons, but from birth, trained to bring their relatives to death. Ultimately, they succeeded in this endeavor, and the Orcs sent back the demons in the prison-world from which they came.

For their exploits, the Orcs were paid appropriately. So the people voted of Ashan, the Orcs ... to enslave ...

For the second time darkness gained back the Orcs their freedom, although there are individuals who prefer their chains have not been stripped. Orcs are strong warriors and shamans with access to selected types of magic. You can use magic act of "blood magic ", a chaos-causing demons and magic-linked branch, and shamanistic spells.

Blood magic and shamanistic spells....i´m intrigued I have always had an special place in my heart for the "barbarian" factions during the series history and I really like the direction they are taking with the orc faction. I find it more suiting that they have an own branch of "magic" then none at all.
