Well, the more that I'm playing Heroes 6, more am I excited about this project.
Seriously, Q thank you immensely for all your hard work and dedication.
I have a strong feeling that this patch will be among best things that ever happened to Heroes in general.
Just one small suggestion if I may:
In 3.1i readme it's written that AI visits goodies huts on heroic difficulty only. My suggestion is that AI should maybe play best it can do whatever it is capable to it's full extent on HARD difficulty even, and Heroic should be maybe be reserved for some off-the-limits "impossible" mode, where it still plays best of it's ability, like on Hard, but it even on top of that it has some of the old advantages (like discounts and much more staring resources), to create  a truly "hardcore mode" for all Heroes grandmasters. I believe that Impossible setting from Heroes III was something like that, if I'm not mistaken.
That's it and thank you once again. Highly anticipating 3.2 !

No need for cheats. Once the strategic end stage, or more precisely a dedicated AI stage for the middlegame with six weeks lookahead, is in place, the AI will actively develop plans and reach the targets right before your nose. I believe this will seriously up the ante and will give veterans a challenge to cope with.

That said, this is the first priority now, to be done before 3.2. Regarding your suggestion with the battle field size, there will also be a complete overhaul of the combat AI. Altered battle arenas are a possibility but most likely will not be done before we move to Eternal Essence proper.

The AI visits goodie huts since 3.1i in normal and hard difficulty as well.

Just to be clear, battlefield size suggestion WAS for Eternal Essence proper, not for AI patch. I know that would generate whole lot of work for you to cope with. Just wanted to mention it, for eventual consideration, anytime when it's possible, and when you have finished current AI work totally.
Concidering cheats, I have just read SKPRIMUS's suggestion in Misc. discussion thread and your answer more thoroughly... Something like that would be really nice. I apologize for double-asking.
As for treasure Huts, sorry but Readme is a little misleading on the matter...

dunno about the battle size, it seems to me that its ok. besides such a change will mess up the balance between the factions just way too much.
I also fear that the game will become boring if the first turn charge option is removed.

Sorry, but battlefield idea was posted originally in "Heroes 5.5 - Eternal Essence - Misc. Discussion" thread, so please let's discuss it there. This is not the right place...

(Also one of the greatest problems with first person charge is in the fact that it became much more deadlier in H5 than it was in H3 or H4, primarily because of great number of multi-hitters (Thanes, Prism. dragons...) )

After playing 3 rmg-maps (4 players, difficulty hard, lookahead heroic), I must admit that I'm little disappointed, the AI is better in many ways, but she's not aggressive enough for my taste. She's never fight between CPU and she's never attack my main hero, so I cannot say the game is challenging.... It's not a complain, but a report.

Check out the latest developer diary entry on the project website. You need to be aware where the latest build stands in the roadmap. Essentially, 3.1i is an intermediate build before the strategic AI stage for middle game hits the road.

In the meantime I recommend to play with the neutral champions and artifact guards turned on. Also you can play Icy Defense ver. 3, which has a bit of a ramped up difficulty compared to ver. 2.

It turned out that the original campaigns were designed with the AI discount cheat in mind and never saw any real testing without it. 3.1j corrects this, playing the original ToE campaign greatly benefits from it.

The latest update contains a slider to set an optional AI rush discount for a limited number of days. Keep in mind, while this cheat was buried in the code previously, now the AI does know how to make use of the extra income.

I've gotten to a point where the game crashes every time a certain AI is processing his turn.  Do you have ways to report these types of bugs?

You could upload your map and save game, are you using any other mods that may conflict with something? One thing I noticed when tinkering around with hero abilities that by pushing an ability over 100% can cause crashes, for instance the dungeon intimidate ability that lowers initiative.

Okay, I mostly wanted to know how to report it when it happens.

I'm running what appears to be the latest beta (3115) and it worked.

Awesome job by the way!  I do have more questions though... if this is the right place to put them.

Does the AI use Instant Travel and the Boots of Levitation?
I have a map that you must use one or the other that worked in regular TotE but hasn't worked so far with this AI.

Instant Travel isn't implemented with the current AI, in another thread someone had posted that there were issues of AI not equipping certain items to leave area so my guess is you will need to wait for a future update.

Okay then.  Good to know just for knowing sake...

I also noticed the "Week of (insert creature name here)" aren't spawning much of anything when it happens.  Is that a change from this mod?  Is there ways to change that back?  I didn't see anything about it in the readme file.  I've seen it in two maps now.

Edit:  I don't think I made sense there.  I mean only one or two random creature stacks are being spawned instead of lots all over the map.

I think the creatures only get spawned on main roads now, probably less are being spawned to prevent the roads from becoming too clustered, there's no way to change it back as far as I know.

Come to think about it I am not seeing "many" across the map. However sometimes, those stacks do get quite large...very quickly

This thread is quite big so my question is : Can I use this mod in non cooperative hotseat games ? I read somewhere in this thread that it is aimed at single, not multi player.

Great effort which made me rebuy HoMM5 gold edition for 9 Euros. The AI was my main problem with the unmodded game. I prefer playing against my friend in hotseat games and the AI players of larger maps were very incompetent and extremly slow in processing their moves.

Single and hotseat are working, later down the road there probably will be a version where multiplayer is supported as well.
