If they had nothing to loose then BH would just come out and say that everything was Ubisoft's fault (regardless of if it was). They fact that they haven't means they still have some hope of working things out. That doesn't mean that there actually is hope, however.

Those aren't good news. It means that the only thing we will get are the adventure packs... so no new factions...
Our only hope is that BH left some code for Limbic to work on if you know what I mean...

I, too, think that we'll get some adventure packs. I don't mind, to be honest, as I very much enjoyed the last one. But I think that this is only for the time being.
Either Ubisoft is waiting for Limbic to expand their staff and have them worked in, so they can produce the expansion content. Or Ubisoft is looking for another studio to take BlackHole's place. Since as they've told us, Limbic have been involved along BH since roughly halfway the project.
I've little doubt we'll get at least one expansion, so much was hinted at by Erwan LeBreton during one of the fandays, but I think it'll simply take some time.

1st expansion (Armageddon's Blade) - released September 1999
2nd expansion (The Shadow of Death) - released March 2000
Heroes 4 - released March 2002
1st expansion (The Gathering Storm) - released September 2002
2nd expansion (Winds of War) - released February 2003
Heroes 5 - released May 2006
1st expansion (Hammers of Fate) - released November 2006

Heroes 6 - released October 2011
1st expansion - almost a year later and not a peep on anything even being worked on.
At most there was an 11 month wait between expansions and as little as 5 months. The fact that we are at 10 months with it looking like an expansion hasn't even been started yet, I call that a colossal failure.

With the lack of info about the expansion, I'm not feeling confident about the game's future. Which is a shame, really; I've played some maps lately and found that the game is in a good way right now. Hopefully it gets further serious support.

Stop acting like a child KingImp. you know very well why this delay in compare to older games is here. And if you do not take this fact into considerence, you might as well returne your ID to your authorities because you do not act old enought to have it.
It is a mirical that the game is even being worked on, not many games survive a change of of developer especialy very soon after their publishing.

I have a feeling, nothing new here, that Ubisoft, although they said that the game was a success, is not giving it enough resources for further development. In return they are putting their money in new games based on the franchise. It's better for Ubi to create a new game which many gamers will "check out" because it's something new, rather then buying an expansion pack for a game that got mixed reviews. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that the staff working on the game right now is not bigger then an average (in size) modding group. And we know how long it took for the Horn of the Abyss mod for Heroes III to be released...

Yeah, I know why we haven't seen or even heard of a potential expansion. It's because Ubi doesn't care enough about the series to put a reasonable budget into it. That's why so much was cut and then BH was booted.
Why should I defend Ubisoft, like you seem to be doing, if they obviously don't care enough to make a decent product? Big whoop, they are making patches now. Let's all give them a standing ovation for what was expected all along.

Given the recent Facebook posts of Might&Magic, I think the reason we have not heard of the expansion yet, is because they are going to announce it at this years GameCon in Cologne. (Among other things)
That's, I suspect, why they keep hinting at lots of news regarding Might&Magic at that place all the time of late.

Time will tell but I don't expect expansion announcement in Cologne.
More likely they will announce 2nd DLC, Duel of Champions card game (since the closed beta is soon to end), and mayhap another Might and Magic spinoff game.

Except if Black Hole hasn't developed the greater part of the faction(s) for the expansion before they went to their early grave, I see no logical reason to expect this task to be performed by a studio which is allegedly even smaller. I find it amazing that, after this entire fiasco, people still fall for Ubisoft's "announcements".
