@ noobx: Well, I broke up with her recently. I was in a very dark place and still am, so I felt I couldn't keep up a relationship and I didn't want to be in one anymore, because she isn't supposed to be taking care of me. The reason mostly, though, is that I can't bear to be in a relationship with her, because we didn't match. She needs a lot of affection and attention and I couldn't oblige (because psychiatric disorders) and I need some stability and I was jealous as well, so it was healthier for me to cut off the relationship.
We were together for almost two years, a reasonable length of time, I think. I didn't specifically set out to date her or have a romantic relationship with her. We just went out a lot about two and a half years ago. I sometimes cooked for her. Sometimes we ate at a place (she was a person that really enjoyed eating, you see.) I talked about films and about art, because back then I used to have all these great ideas about HOW ART SHOULD BE. We both studied Latin in high school, so that was one more thing we could talk about. She also had studied Ancient Greek and I was too lazy/ dumb/ uninterested to study that in high school, so I was quite fascinated about that aspect of her.
We both were studying Slavic languages. I think she really liked me, because of the way I could enthusiastically talk about a wide field of things, my good looks (at least, she thought so) and because of my values. I liked her, because she was very energetic and funny and seemed to be able to enjoy life a lot and those are all qualities I appreciate very much in people.
It started off simply enough. She snuggled up close to me one evening while we were watching a film. I kissed her, she kissed me and then it was serious. It's never something dramatic. This never happens in the rain at a train station while you're shirtless. It just sort of happens while you watch a film together or while you're helping her with her bike or something silly. That may be just my experience. 
Now, this relationship isn't something you should try to emulate, noobx-man, because we hooked up when she still was in another relationship. She cheated on her boyfriend with me. It was a bad time to be sure. I told her to break up with him, but she couldn't because of pity reasons (her boyfriend at the time was having a terrible time of it, not just because of me and our shared girlfriend.)
Eventually, that got sorted, otherwise it definitely wouldn't have lasted for almost two years. She was mad at me (because I urged her to end her previous relationship), I was mad at her for dragging it out (making everyone unhappier for it). It was a rather dramatic and tempestuous time(a former friend of mine severed all ties with me at the time, because I had a relationship with someone he idolised and was rejected by the year before.) and it wasn't a good time for anyone. We eventually broke up for about two weeks, because I thought she was too hysterical, too prone to start fights with me over perceived slights and that is just absolutely dreadful.
She then apologised to me and said she would like to try again. She said she realised how much she liked me, etc, so we started off again and that went on for about a year without a hitch. Then I broke up with her, because I'm mentally unstable.
I remember mostly this extremely rocky start, because it was a cause for a lot of grief. The second time was fairly happy. We visited each other's families, we ate together, we studied together occasionally and we did walk through life together, watched south park, got drunk together, spoke Russian together, all sorts of romantic things.
She was a very insecure girl (she always thought I was out to date some other girl for the longest time) (she thought she was overweight all the time, despite my protests), she was fairly nice to people she knew. She was very talkative and could connect to strangers really well. She had a passion for what she did and rarely if ever was held back by doubts or second thoughts. She was kinda short and very focused on her senses, taste and touch. She liked touching and hugging and kissing etc and she liked to eat in a way, I'll never understand (I barely have a sense of smell and barely enjoy food by taste.) She was also a bit vain (liked to wear high heels, even though it was sort of annoying when it was just us two going somewhere.)
I'm saying these things not to judge her in a negative light, but to attempt to accurately portray the experience of that relationship. There was no spite or hard feelings or doubt between us. It was a really good relationship, except for the terrible start and me falling apart in the end.
@ minion: Women can be sociopaths too. I haven't heard a girl talk about it that way (neither have I heard a guy do so, except over the internet where we can freely show our seedier side), but most girls (and guys) I befriended are rather lonesome people. Birds of a feather flock together and all that.
I believe you, though, but those women are also terrible people.

What causes this, if I may ask? The smell is not so bad, at least it saves you from the horror which is a toilet at a summerfestival  But the food, my god, that would suck...

Hahaha, I get that reaction a lot ("That's okay, most smells are pretty disgusting anyway.")
Welp, I don't know the reason, I just barely smell anything and I can taste and have a rudimentary "I like this, I don't like this." I just don't derive pleasure from food, find that everything that isn't burned to a cinder or raw tastes fairly decent and similar and more often than not texture decides whether I like something or not, rather than taste.

Dude that sucks. Food is one of my favorite things. You should see a doctor about your sense of smell. You might have swollen adenoids or something.

Might not come as a surprise but sense of smell and taste are connected. The brains treat them as linked variables and associate them with each other. So if the other doesn't work, the other one is probably worse just because of that too.
