So, here's a problem. My girlfriend is great in many ways. She's intelligent, sensible, makes people feel comfortable around her, kind, and very physically attractive. She's also affectionate with her friends, hugging them often, as I've written previously. All of this leads to her making friends easily, but is also often misinterpreted as a sign of romantic interest. She's appealing enough to attract a good number of guys our age anyway, and with the way she acts, some of them think she's interested in them (when she really isn't), which makes them even more interested. She recently met up with a male acquaintance from high school whom she hadn't seen for a few years. He had recently broken up with his girlfriend and was feeling sad. My girlfriend was kind to him, as is her way - and how he's very much interested in her.
She enjoys acting the way she does, as it makes people feel comfortable around her, and makes her many friends who feel emotionally close to her, but she would also like to be able to indicate when she's not romantically interested in someone and is doing it purely out of friendly feelings.

I don't see what the problem is, assuming your girlfriend is as you described her, if she's not interested then that pretty much says it all, if the guys keep perusing beyond that, then it can be classified as harassment. This may pose a problem for someone who I assume doesn't like fist-diplomacy. (But aren't you two in like an open relationship?)
Can you please plainly state what the problem is for you?

I think he's asking advice about hos his girlfriend could keep acting the way she does without giving the impression she is romantically interested in everyone. I don't know myself. It's a stumpy question.

I have found that while refraining from throwing out all random encompassing statements does not grant immediate knowledge on the subject it certainly doesn't hinder ones ability to learn rather than condemn.

I didn't said for you to get engaged but if she uses an engagement ring she will passe the message that she is not available.
I knew a woman that was using one without even having a boyfriend, just because she was less "misunderstoded" this way.
You just have to agree between the two of you what you really want, the rest of the world can simply go...
So, use their conventions to achive want you need.
