I am 20 and in that situation. And honestly I feel only relief right now as I have no obligations towards a partner and can focus on just satisfying and improving myself and maybe some day I will have a change of heart and hopefully I can call myself a dignitified and respectable person by then. So the situation is not that bad with the right mindset. Keep polishing yourself for a while and then look for a real relationship instead of those man-whorish training relationships worthy of horny teenagers.

Heck, I'll be 20 soon, and I'm relieved that I have yet to have a relationship. As things are, I wouldn't be much of a partner to anyone. In time, that may change, but until I become someone girls would be happy to enter in a relationship with, I refuse to make a fuss about the whole dating thing.

It depends on you I guess. I can only say that when I was little, I usually had friends come to me in stead of the other way around, but a problem rose. At first I was introduced to my cousin, he was a year younger than me, and I was rather annoyed I had to play with him, because he came by, when I just wanted to play with myself, or some friends of my own age.
As time passed I started to like his company more, but those friends of my own age on the other hand, wasn't much fun anymore.
Ultimately it meant that for large periods of time, school + feeling forced to play with other kids, I had very little time for the activities I wanted.
I imagine in a relationship, you're committed to the other person, you can't just say "I'll take two days by my own now", at most you'll have some hours of private time each day when there isn't one thing or another. One day I'll probably be mature enough for it, but right now, I don't really like the idea, and I'm way older than you.

Sounds more like you are talking about living together with someone rather than being in a relationship. Furthermore, there are as many relationships as there are people. You and your partner form that kind of relationship that fullfills BOTH of your needs. If you follow a formula of trying to copy what your friends have, it is a recipe for a disaster.

I don't think it's stupid at all. Doesn't mean you'll never be lonely as long as you're comfortable with who you are, just means a person who knows who he/she is and is comfortable with that is bound to not feel the need for others as keenly or immediately as others.
Atleast that'd be my take on it.
