hmm, sorry for being annoying again, but.
started to play with latest era+update, enabled only kk+wog things+era framework.
and it's so very weird all over!
started to play random xl map with tower army.
when inside the castle, clicking on skyship, it gives me the window prompt to buy "tower guardian." if i click ok it will next give me the actual skyship image and description.
in combat random things pop up as henchmen? had once "spider empress" 2x, next mummies 7x. commander is there without me having bought him.
there's cannon instead of ballista which i think is accurate?
but then the healing tents are named blue tent and necro tent and they shoot??
pls take a look at my mod list and advise!

KK have modified wog scripts on board
yes there ae different tents per faction (so 9 types) some are unique some less. the tower guardian is obviously guardian tier for tower (thee are 9 types of guardians) this mod modify even grails

I haven't had a chance to play the new version yet, but personally, I really liked the different tents, guardians and grails. I'm glad you're still working on the mod.

awesome!! so most of all this was by design and i just got to remove all the wog stuff to get rid of some weird things, great!
yes, i also like the tents, i just wasn't sure if it's by design or not 
so there's no henchmen in kk, do i understand correctly?

ahh, also! ammo cart had a turn? is that by design too or will it go away after i remove the wog stuff?

idk, i feel like things are strange still...
i removed all wog mods now, i only have kk, in the wake of gods core and era framework enabled. i also chose the "WoGSetup_KnightmareKingdoms" for wog in the advanced screen etc.
however:
- started a random map and the very first thing my hero and commander started gaining experience until lvl5 for the hero. huh? why?
- there's no banner next to the castle? but a spell book with some weird description.
idk what is going on...

because his base KnightmareKingdoms WoG setting includes that all heroes start at level 5. That is very annoying because you have to skip-click dozens of times every map start.
It has been like this for years and I don't know why he doesn't change it...

As I said, I haven't played in a while, but I'm pretty sure I had henchmen as usual when I played. Check the WOG settings. (KK has equivalents to a lot of the normal WOG scripts, not not always in the same menu location or under the same name. Perhaps henchman setting needs to be selected, as it does in regular WOG,
As for the ammo cart, yes, it has a turn, but it can't do anything as far as I can tell. I assumed it ended up with a turn for some technical reason.

That's weird! I've never started at level 5 in any of my playthroughs. When I'm starting a new mod for the first time, I always take a look at the settings, so I might have changed something, but I didn't have to do it every map.
Or is it maybe a function of the difficulty mod? Because I always said no when that tried to load. (I figured things were difficult enough without it!)

I do like the five levels rule, I even made boost to it (you can choose skills for next heroes you buy)
ammo cart normally takes defend or wait action, but it also allows hero to cast a spell then but yes it was technical reason.
btw I would need to nerf Tower a bit probably (and Necro a lot)
Hencham is in under henchman option, but it have slightly different version than wog scripts.
also I modified the starting WB rule to give ancient book tier one

In my opinion, a mod should use map scripted rules only if they are absolutely necessary to the proper performance of the mod, otherwise let them to fit player style, without such encumbrance.

right, but difficulty system assumes you start at level 5, so it would be hard to start at Duke with level 1 similairly goes for the boosted Warlords Banner rule
every other map rule, you are safe to disable, but I have checked the ones which makes sense.
I guess next time I would make at least two variances of default settings ("poor" and "rich"), so it would be easier to understand?
EDIT: Should I add anything to new "Starting Options" menu ?
(the new one where you set options for whole gameplay which apppears for red) ?

hmm no, just in case it wasn't clear, i didn't *start* at lvl5, i started to rapidly gain levels (having to choose skills etc) once the wogification was complete but before i was able to enter the castle.
if it's by design, i mean, it's fine, and i understand if it's something connected to the difficulty option. however, i do not intend to use the latter (it indeed is difficult enough lol) and maybe it'd make sense to have the initial level-up as something optional? imo.
apologies for giving misinfo though. henchman is there, not sure why it wasn't back when i posted about it. most likely my own oversight.
i'm perhaps most intrigued by the potions/alchemy thing but haven't gotten far enough yet to check it out.
the tower guardian/skyship (in case of tower) overlapping was most likely due to my wog setup not being that meant for knightmare. there's no skyship/tower guardian when proper wog setup is chosen.
i also finally understood that the ancient book instead of banner is by design and not some error, sorry about that 
with all the above said, though, i kept getting what i'm assuming is debugging msgs? on the screen - things like "Grandmaster" numerous times and "max mana" "mana at," things like that. should it happen?
i also started to get erm errors with kk mod, in the wake of gods core, era framework enabled and kk specific wog setup enabled. using the latest beta. those errors didn't crash the game though, i just clicked ok.
i'll screenshot those and also the msgs i mentioned later today if necessary.

and then add kk, in wake of gods core and era framework manually?
maybe that gets rid of some of the weird stuff i've seen that's not by design idk.

You Should be able to select difficulty settings at beggining of game
default is Duke, easiest is Chieftain, hardest is Deity.
note that Chieftain should be easier than without applying difficulty settings. if it is still too hard with chieftain let me know .

um so i went and install everything anew with the latest beta.
now i get this after random map generation. can't even get passed it,
apply doesn't work. getting annoyed with all the weird stuff tbh :/
(also it seems like now i can't even choose "none" like i did before.)

you need to change the 0 to the new number of heroes limit.
