From 2.85 and up, everything works. Only 2.84 had this problem

Get the 2.86 to be sure.

Other Isses

Hi,


Now I got some other troubles which I can not find a solution for:


First issue is that my creatures don't get any Experience in fights.
(neither have any bonuses to be unlocked when right clicked on their icon. I remember in EotW III, certain bonuses on creautures were unlocked with experience gain. Maybe its intentional, I don't know.

The second issue is that some of the mods in the list are working and some not. For example "Resolve battle, Neutrals Split & Upgrade all works" but not army management or display events.

In addition, all neutral creature fights have ACE-level, even in the beginning, is that also intentional?

Any tips on how to fix?

Near the hero name, in hero screen, you have a button to buy experience, it is not given from battles. And is expensive.

For mods not working, it may have to do with the version you have, from mapsforheroes or my google drive. As some mods are more recent than tew4, early version of tew4 will not activate them.

Anyway, to activate a new mod is easy. Check the mod for its erm file (data/s), copy its name then add it to the list from "load this scripts only.txt" from tew4/data/s folder. Thats all, save then F12 in game to refresh scripts.

Some troubles with the double cast.

I am encountering some problem with my double cast as MoE. I tried to click the head of the hero to refresh the spellbook as to no luck. It works against neutral stacks and if I remove the emissary of mana.

Is there a way of keeping the emissary on Commudus and still be able to double cast?

I haven't played the map in a long time and now I am curious to see the bullet gameplay.

Yes, I played in hell difficulty, since I finished m2 it doesn't really make the AI stronger and you do get the bonuses for highest difficulty. This can be done a lot faster if you abuse the portals even more, but that takes away the fun and strategy.
Without abusing the portals this can be done a bit faster, maybe even 10 days faster with perfect management of heroes.
I have recorded the battles as they were requested so I don't have any more recorded ones.
would record the battle, but I can't because all my saves are on my PC and I have only laptop ATM.

tew4 monsters

Have a nice day,

I'm asking for your help. I am playing the Master of Devil mode, its month 18 and the monsters (expect inferno) become stronger and stronger every 2 wefek. Currently the enemy arch angel has 8000 hp without hero. My Hell Barons has 1200 hp after a lot of upgrade. Is it a bug or Am I doing something wrong?

There are six difficulties,provided by the mapmaker,which give you from easy to very hard game.

Ouch and Hell difficulties are for those players who can move quickly and finish the map under 6 months.

You can try lower difficulty and play how many months you like.

how to get in...

hi,
need help. stucked on month 8.how te get in surface south snow area (tamika)?
been investigating some time in editor and script. all i could find is; 2 solutions. there is somewhere very well hiden teleporter/teleporting quest or there is some kind of trick with that admirals hat on shore near ignatius quest guard. donno.

stuck and some glitches

Hi all,

Picked up Homm3 again and this time playing TEW IV with the MoD faction in Ouch difficulty (starting easy). I have destroyed Jaegar, took out a sea trip but did not find any spot to land and only keyed the red-blue keymaster so now I am stuck as I seemingly have nowhere to go.

For now I bought Immunity to Level 3 spells and Reduce Defense for my Hell Barons -- are there better choices?

Edit: another thing. I am swimming in unused and useless artifacts -- is there, or will there be, a use to them? Can I at least get rid of them and if yes how?

This may not be the best forum but I have also found some wonkiness in TEW IV and Era. I am *not* using the HD mod because it slows down homm3 a lot -- I am in arch linux running era through wine, so it *could* be the case that some of these things are regressions in wine (in my previous playthrough with Era at 2.7 and something, I had no glitches and no crashes). Current mod list from top to bottom in latest Era 2.8.7:

- Quick Savings
- Mentoring
- Drop War Machines
- Fast Battle Animation
- Army Management
- Upgrade All
- Secondary Skills Scrolling
- Hms Improved
- Seers Uncovered
- Display Events
- Overflow Fix
=> Bigger Spellbook: removed, see below
- Advanced Battle Hints
- Yona
- Neutrals Split
- Map Advanced Infos
- The Empire of the World IV
- WoG


- The Mentoring mod is behaving incorrectly. If hero A with level x mentors hero B with level y, then B gets to level x (which is not correct) and A gets level x - 1 (correct). But in the *next* turn, A looses all xp and goes down to level 1 but keeping the same skills and primary stats -- this is actually a recipe for abuse (snicker).

- Bigger Spellbook crashes the game on save and reload. Through a little bit of testing it *seems* that this is tied to TEW IV using a curated list of loaded plugins and if the plugin is not there, but enabled, the save gets corrupted. Army Management was giving me the same trouble until I put its erm name in the file "load these plugins only.txt" -- or whatever it is called exactly. I can give more details if needed (the error occurs in kernel32.dll which is a core wine library that *cannot* be overriden by a native windows dll). Weirder still, this did *not* happened with TEW III -- I tested it by going all the way to Rome and no problems.

- Speaking of Army Management, none of the keybindings is working.

- All in all, I am finding Era more unstable and crashing from time to time, something I never experienced in my previous playthrough. As I said this could be a regression in wine (I remember once I had to downgrade it to get Era to run) or a regression in Era or some weird interaction between them.

Apologies for the long post.

Behind the first castle town you conquer, there is a quest guard asking for jaegar death. Use seers uncovered mod to spot those quests, visible ones (even if hidden) will pop.

Please reinstall Mentoring mod, Era 2.80 and up requires modders to modify a slash in the code when mods have a .ini file, I reuploaded it HERE. This is why it doesn't work properly.

Army management erm file name must be placed in "load these scripts.txt" as well, but I stress, HD mod is 1000 times better, try to solve that. I don't have Wine so can't help further, on my Win 8 I get one crash maybe every 5 hours.

Thanks for uploading a new version of Mentoring.

Are there any other mods in my mod list that need fixing? I also use Advanced Estates and Spells Uncovered if playing TEW III.

Also, these two questions from the previous comment:

Edit: ha ha! found a way to run the HD mod without the lag by tweaking the graphics settings.
