In this case, these chechens and their grievances were produced with the war in russia.

They are too young for that. No, this is your standard jihadist from any Islamic country talking about how Harry Potter is shirk... Even being from an Islamic country isn't necessary these days. The matter is transnational.

And, get all sarcastic as you want, saying American Middle-East politics has nothing to do with Islamic terror is being very naive or blind. You must realize that the newspapers in U.S. and newspapers in those countries totally focus on different things when it comes to the war. Even our newspapers here in Turkey (and we are a secular, NATO member, EU candidate country) mostly focus on civilian life lost. I can not even imagine a newspaper from Iran or Egypt.

Here's some piece of information, WW 1 civilian life loss is 4% (or 14%, memory's a little dusty on that), WW 2 it goes up to 48 %, after the 1990's it is usually above 90% So when you talk about collateral damage, even if you are not talking about something premeditated you are talking about something pre-calculated. It is not unexpected or astronomically minimal loss of life.

Now, add to the equation Mr. Bill O'Reilley, American conservative, patriot, "culture warrior" and Fox News anchorman, answering to David Letterman  with his grin when asked if war is about oil or not:
- Of course it is about oil David. The whole world's about oil.

Still sarcastic?

The Russians probably couldn't care less, it's not related to them in any way. Their problems with Chechnya have nothing to do with these bombings.

This is heartening. They're in a war zone being terrorized by their own government and they still took the time to send well wishes. And Boston responded back in kind.

Yes, America is responsible for herself being attacked by terrorists, in that she is a bright and shining light of freedom and opportunity and she stands for freedom and goodness around the world. People in the Middle East look to her in envy and say, "I wish I could live that way." That burns terrorists up as they want everyone living under the heel of an Islamic cleric and the law of the land to be the Qur'an. The terrorists want theocracy, not democracy.

And yeah, radical Islam is determined to wipe Israel off the map and America stands with Israel against the tides of evil. So yeah, there is another reason for jihadists to attack America.

And then there is America being decadent in the eyes of the jihadists.

Of course you should quote Mr O'reilley's article in which he said that because you are misrepresenting what he says.

Anyone who says O'Reilly says America is fabricating lies and then invading other nations to plunder their oil either misunderstands what he says or is lying about what he says.

Again, produce a link to the article where he made such a statement (or to a video, in its entirety), not just some sentence pulled out of whatever he said or wrote.

Continuing to claim America is going around the world invading nations to plunder their oil and that that is the reason for Islamic terrorism against the US is deceptive.

The Boston bombings had nothing at all to do with oil nor did any other terrorist attack on the US. Oh, other nations do experience terror attacks from jihadists as well. I guess you are saying those other nations are going around invading nations and plundering their oil too?

@artu

I have found the late show transcript of O'Reilly and the radical leftist Letterman talking on Letterman's "comedy" show. Oreilly DID NOT say Ameican invaded for oil. He said America stayed in Iraq to ensure stability until the new government got on its feet to keep Iran's jihadists from getting  the oil. Get your facts straight.

Letterman: "But how does staying there killing more and more Americans make it right? How do you make a right decision out of a wrong decision? It looks to me like the country is going to fall apart anyway regardless of what people do. Do you think stability will prevail over there?"

O'Reilly: "Look, Dave, if you, if you get out of Iraq and leave it in chaos, Iran comes in, takes over, all right, and then we basically have a 10 times worse situation because the oil flow then goes under the jihadists in Iran. You want to debate geopolitics with me? Do you really?"

Yes, actually the whole thing is about that. These guys never had Santa bring them toys from the chimney and they are jelaous. You got it all very clear.

O Reilly's prophecies on the future were irrelevant. (But since you brought it up, nobody on his right mind would think Iran would attack Iraq in that current situation. It was just an excuse for them to stay longer.) If you quoted just one sentence further, it was gonna come to part I was talking about:
Letterman: "So there it is. It's all about oil? You just answered the question."

O'Reilly: "Absolutely. It's all about oil. The whole world is about oil."

Letterman: "That's right. It's all about oil. That's why we're there. Big deal."

And if you think David Letterman is a "radical leftist" well, the education system in US must be much worst than they are complaining about.

This has little to do with the education system, it's just that parts of the US still live in the Cold War ages. Or in the Civil War ages. Or in the medieval ages.

While they believe the rest of the world lives in the dark and spiritual void. Sorry to disappoint the anti-anti here, America has certainly some strong areas but nothing special to envy for a whole bunch of top countries. Which actually have a much higher happiness/living standards, but you just don't know.

I just hope Elodin is not voicing the majority of americains, because when you provoke, expect to be answered.

I know what you say is partly sarcasm but it' s not because they are poor is it, if someone thinks a TV talk show host chatting Hollywood stars and such is a radical leftist, it's not that he only got the concept of leftism thought wrong to him, it also means he has no idea what radicalism is. That can only happen if the education system fails at teaching some very basic concepts. Anyway, kind of getting off topic...

We've had this discussion many times and the conclusion is that the European moderate "right" roughly corresponds to the US "left", while the European "left" roughly corresponds to the US (and especially Texas) "frenzied baby-eating, wife-raping, God-state worshipping atheist commies". The former USSR is respectively Satan and his army of demons.

Imagine the terror the Russians have to experience daily, average white people that look the same as them may jump out of nowhere and explode. This happens far too often anywhere but Russia moreso. Terrorism knows no racial boundaries.

Continue to spout your anti-American crap all you want. America is NOT making up lies and going around the world invading nations to steal their oil. You've listened to too many delusional liberal freaks. America is not the world's arch-villan.

Unfortunately the far left hates America just like the jihadists do and want to see America destroyed. And thus they always side with the jihadists and vilify America.

The left is so very quick to call the terroists "lone-wolves" but where did they get their money from? Both were unemployed and on welfare. The 26 year old took a 6 month trip to Russia in the are where there is a radical Muslim often refered to as Russia's Ossama ben Laden. The brothers went to a radical mosque in their hometown, one where the imam preaches jihad. It is rather doubtful that they had no help.

And the moronic president already decided to try them in civilian court as civilians instead of holding them as enemy combatants.

DEVELOPING: The Boston Marathon bombing suspects had Times Square in their sights before law enforcement authorities put an end to their bloody terror spree, according New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

"New York was next on their list of targets," Bloomberg said of brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Bloomberg said he received confirmation of the chilling second phase of their plot from the FBI. “The fact is, New York City remains a prime target for those who hate America and want to kill Americans.”
....

Times Square was targeted by Muslim terrorist Faisal Shahzad in a failed 2010 plot. Kelly said at least one Tsarnaev brother was photographed in Times Square last year, first on April 18 and then later on an unspecified day in November.

Kelly said the plot was revealed in a bedside interrogation of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in Boston's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he remains in fair condition. The 19-year-old suspect spoke to FBI agents intermittently over a 16-hour period before a federal judge showed up at the hospital and read him his Miranda rights, after which he clammed up, according to law enforcement sources.

The mother of Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev knew as early as 2011 that her son had been radicalized and sent text messages to family in Russia suggesting he was willing to die for Islam, the FBI told lawmakers this week according to two officials with knowledge of the Capitol Hill briefing.

Tsarnaev, who was killed days after the April 15 bombing in a shootout with police, is said to have embraced radical Islam in recent years and recruited his younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, to carry out the attack that killed three and wounded more than 180 near the finish line of the world's most prestigious road race.

That's because they are civilians under US law. You're not allowed to change that on a whim because what they did was a big deal. It shouldn't even be a decision. A president that did otherwise would (in theory) be overstepping their powers.
