Thanks for Darkloke's animated lakes in HotA.
But there are still 2 static combat screen-ponds (OBRGL06.def andOBRGL22.def - just in case they are supposed to be animated).

About the map (Cove's second campaign).
Yeah, not so though afterall, the problem in my first playtrough came from the fact that I forgot to buy units from Cove, and even forgot that the main hero can transform Jack Sparrows into their second upgrade And that gives you a significant boost in forces. Dumb me... Now I'm chasing those barbarians all over the map
And the money problem was solved with picking gold in every gold chest instead of exp. And HotA crew even threw in a Market to exchange those crystals for money. I need to remember about picking up Air Magic (there's even a Witch Hut with it, how handy ), because I've heard it before: Cove is "very" compatible with Mass Haste.
I didn't play H3 for quite a while now, so I must recall all those old tricks btw
I like the Sea Serpent, somehow it really fits into to the game, it's kinda draconish, and H3 is all about dragons! (Just kidding. Or maybe not ). Plus, I think it would be hard to make an animation for Kraken. I might be wrong but I think the games engine has it's limitations, and the unit would look comical.
PS: It's funny how, because I was quite young at that time, H3 created my image of various fantastic creatures (Btw, I still think H3 has some of the best in-game representations of dragons in history). For instance I was really surprised when I've found that in myths Gorgons were not scaly bulls, but "Medusa" sisters...
PS 2: Something for the HotA team. After some patching (1.3.1. and the newest HD mod) no crashes at all. The only issue I'm experiencing so far is the above mentioned "battle music freeze", but I'm not quite sure how exactly and on what terms it occurs...

Fun facts:
- Haspid (or more precisely Aspid) is a name of a Russian draconish, a bit serpent-like monster; it's similar to another Slavic dragon - zmey,
- both Sea Serpent and Haspid are vulnerable for Slayer spell effects, and with Skeleton Transformer you can transform them into Bone Dragons - in similar way to dragons and hydras.

Who said I don't have something to pick on HOTA besides names?
You just didn't read the whole 2 treads.
kipshasz said: Also seeing you pose as some badass of modding, I haven't seen your work at all, just some trolling in the forge thread.
I am not an oculist.
Just confess, you are wasting time on this forum because of HOTA constant crashes and faults. So you are just angry that your praised HOTA is non-playable yet.

It is pretty playable, given that it's a fan created add-on it's quite stable and well done, and given that I only played for about several hours of the game, it crashed only two times. I don't really think that there are some super leet programers in HotA crew who have actually worked on similiar software before, just your average IT students, so yeah, cut the guys some slack.
Your arguments are plain stupid. I haven't seen any constructive comments by you macron, it's all complaints and trolling and loads of bullcrap.

Well it's playable for me. I don't have any crashes at all after some patching, I even wonder why there are so many crashlogs in this thread. It's interesting how much the gaming experience can differ on different computers. And Heroes III is in fact an archaic game in terms of system requirements, and I suppose it can even be played on an average Smartphone these days.
Maybe it's a problem with the operating system? I have Windows 7.
BTW, I don't know if people in HotA team are professional programmers but in my eyes they are amateurs (not in the sense of their abilities, but their status), yet they've made such an expansion for free. I know Heroes VI is a much more complex game, but people who were paid for making it didn't even make a stable enough game many months after it's release. So go figure...

I use windows 7 as well, ad I play a ton of old games on it, and they all work perfectly fine. the problem is elsewhere.
as to Heroes 6, remember, those guys didn't gave a single snow about it. their thought was "hey, the Homm3 is still popular, let's jus make any maimed crap, the fans will buy it anyway." So, yeah, that's how it worked. Ubisoft made Heroes are just a piece of crap. I can say that even Heroes 4 with all of it's half-baked concepts is way better than what ubicrap can make in their stupid "dragons are gods" universe of crapshan.

Wouldn't be boring to see the same towns with the same units for a third time in a row?
No.
What's the difference, if blue rocks like in Stronghold will be replaced by Sirens (Harpies)?
Cove blue birds upgrade and degrade are looking the same and easy to mistake them on map.
Sirens can be made more distinguished.

Hota is very well playable and has all chances to become supreme in future with the flux of time and constant work of the team.

Hello,
I have to say that I've played already quite a few maps of HoTA in single player and multiplayer hot seat and didn't have any crashes at all.
I praise HoTA's quality of their work as it really feels like a true official expansion. Thank you so snowing much.

A Phoenix Horde Building?
The vase seems better off Blue in the Waterfall. For me, keep it as it was and make it a Water Elemental Horde Building.

The whole idea for Phoenix horde is great, and this building fits well except for the color and location. Although I have to admit that Conflux townscreen has some problems when it comes to adding any buildings in it.

No, one the reasons that makes Phoenix a bit special and different from the rest of the other lvl 7 creatures is the extra growth.

Great-yes. But I think it's also overpowered.
And it would be better if it were some sort of funeral pyre or something that fits better with fire. That vase's sticked in my mind with the water element.
P.S.
When are you planning to experiment with recruitment changes in towns like some more 3rd upgrades or alternative creatures?
