Whats new in this new patch?

Can't find the incremental changelog.

EDIT: Nvm went over to the russian forums and found that 1.4.0 is released over there. Used google translate for the changelog.

I'm guessing we must wait for the English 1.4.0?

I see that HotA v.1.4.0 is out today. Many thanks to HotA team for their awesome work, and Happy New Year 2016!

I just installed the latest version using the links from russian site and after some quick testing I can say that it works great. Below is a translation of  HotA 1.4.0 changelog.

I do not think so. I would rather like that HotA would improve the original Heroes III and fix all the bugs, while adding new elements in the true spirit of classical Heroes III.

I would hate to see HotA shifting too far of the original Heroes III SoD. We already have WoG and ERA that do just that and I stopped playing them because of too many custom rules and features that no longer feel like Heroes III. Frankly, I prefer the classical feel of the original and so far HotA is truly awesome in this regard.

I hope the devs will keep it up on this path.

Well I love how HotA stays true to the original formula, but they already changed two skills and introduced new artifacts. And I still can't find any good reason to ever pick Learning, or any hero starting with Learning for that matter, it's just a waste of skill. First Aid, Eagle Eye and Mysticism still sucks and Logistics is probably too good, especially with the 3 heroes that specialise in it and with the movement artifacts.
I would also have liked a nerf to Town Portal and Dimension Door, cause they are very overpowered.
They should also do something about Cloak of the Undead King, it's still overpowered.

I agree with you on that. However, any changes must be very well thought out, by the impact they will have on the global gameplay.

About skills, some skills are good, some are not very useful. That is a part of the gameplay as well. You can;t have good luck all the time.

Anyhow, it's amazing with a new (and bigger) patch. So congratulation and I wish a happy New Year to the whole crew! I have to get familiar with the patch before saying more, but the patch-notes does sound very interesting. Can't wait to try 1.4.0 out for myself.

If skills became more equal you actually have choices to make, instead of always going for the same skills.
It can't be right that some skills hardly do anything, while others make you own the game...
Glad HotA crew still is considering it though, besides they did already change Necromancy and Scouting, so it's no like the skills are holy and untouchable.

Overall it is very nice update I wasn't expecting to happen, therefore I am surprised in a good way. Map objects are looking great as always, some of them have interesting properties to follow with..

..but I must say that new creature is not even close to old Alex-ander designs. It is ok, but nothing exciting to cope with the title artifact.

It is similar to our mindflyer project for MDT alternative units:

Even the properties are the same
