Just because you are older doesn't mean you can't be fooled by smear campaigns. If there is evidence from credible journalistic sources then show them, but keep such propaganda pieces like above out of this great thread about Politics In USA.

Dude I was not talking about my age, as you infer, I was talking about "being engaged at that very time" and I damn well remember it well. There is much I could and would say but with an attitude like yours...nevermind.

Do us both a favor - please, never respond to anything I post and never dictate terms for posting that are not yours to give. Seek Corribus if you have a problem and let him moderate. That's his job not yours.

Harvard survey shows Republicans’ disadvantage among young voters is growing. The poll found that 61% of 18- to 29-year-olds said they preferred a Democrat win the 2016 presidential election, 33% preferred a Republican. That 28-point spread is twice as wide as when the Harvard institute polled young people in spring 2015, when the split was 55% for a Democrat and 40% were for a Republican.

Now 61-33 is a huge divide. Any thoughts on this trend? Young voters seem to generally care more about the social issues. Thinks like right to abortion and civil (gay) rights rank high on their minds. Could republicans tone down on those departments while keeping the rest of the ideology same? Should they?

They actually don't care about anything and hardly understand what's going on.

Sounds a bit biased. They are also part of the country, so why wouldn't they vote? If it is just inexperience towards voters, that's how demo(n)cracy works, even a fool can vote.

Well, I think the potential voters should first get a certificate which confirms that they know what they do.

I think that is perhaps true for many different people in all age categories.

To me it looks like the world is now more connected, especially young people.. in Europe it's my impression that the US republicans generally tended to sound very outdated, and with many nationalities communicating all the time over the internet, I wouldn't be surprised if such views would catch the voters who're most susceptible to modern technology, mainly the younger people.

When Clinton was elected second time hardly anyone was on the web, when Bush was elected the first time, the same was true.. it didn't matter one was a democrat and the other a republican.. but when Obama was elected in 2008 the net was blooming and the whole world celebrated.. for the wrong reasons in my opinion..

That is just such a fallacy when young people are more educated than their parents by a large margin. You just like calling people that don't agree with you stupid. You MUST be a Trump supporter right???

It's pretty clear. Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. That's it. Donald Trump represents the American Dream in its pristine form, Hillary Clinton drags behind.

I agree that young people are helpless and confused, at a large scale.

The thing is that elites do anything to keep low class crime alive and kicking, because that way, people are too occupied complaining about thus they have no time to observe the high class crime, the one which is ruling the world, as the banks buying, chocking and sending into stone age whole nations while dictating to remaining ones their own recession politic, oligarchs triggering wars and millions of potential victims just for their profit, governments indecently corrupted, 0,000000001% of people having more money than the 99,99999% others,  the freedom of speech slowly but surely being handcuffed until there will be impossible to criticize what it matters, and so on.

Meanwhile the young think they are smart and will keep vociferating over ridiculously minor issues which I won't enumerate here because it will hurt certain people.

I'd say there are three major factors that will determine a Trump victory

1) How much violence moronical young leftists continue to cause whenever Trump gives a speech or rally. This isn't isolated to the 2016 US election. It's a common trend since at least the 19th century.  Despite Trump's ignorant ideas and policies,  him and his supporters are much less violent in practice than his strong opposers. These demonstrators are handing Trump free votes and sympathy. They have no concept of how martyrdom aids a candidate. They scream and barge and wail like untrained, unfed,  unthinking dogs. They need to piss off and let Trump and his rivals do what candidates do,  and find healthy and rewarding outlets instead of worrying so much about an election. Either way it is good to be alive and healthy and strong.

2) Trump's choice of image.  He has softened somewhat as the general election approaches.  If he keeps playing that card it will help him,  but he is a flamboyant showman by nature and at some point he might not be able to contain himself.

3)  That's it really.  Clinton is a consistent workhorse and won't do anything very unpredictable.

You don't hear so much about Clinton in the news because she never says anything that makes heads turns. Even the many journalists that despise Trump must love the fact that he throws them so many goodies to quote.

It shall be interesting to see what they will do now. This was certainly not what was expected by the other so called "professional" politicians - the "joker" actually made it all the way to become the N1 nominee.

My bet is on Trump. He obviously has his flaws and we do not know if he will be corrupted by high standing individuals or lobbyists yet, however we do know that Hilary has already sold her soul to them and is one of the best self-contradictory persons in modern time.
I find it highly unlikely that Clinton would win unless the republicans does something extreme.

Just a quick question to those who follow the elections and know what each of the candidates wants to do:

Is any of the top candidates willing to do something about those ungodly visas for Poorland to the US?

Having NOT been picked in the greencard lottery for the x-th time, I really feel out of options nowadays.
