I'm not that thrilled yet. Civ 5 vanilla was such a step back from civ 4(and in many aspects even now after expansions). Beyond the earth was step back from civ 5... I just hope this isn't becoming a pattern. I'm hopeful about Civ 6 though

I m slightly more hopeful for some balancing since the bugs on heroes 7 are not that many.
What if we could balance the game? we can, easily from modding,if the non casual players here cooperate and create a thread that will firstly address creatures(stats,damage movement),maybe exp gain, building costs,population, and spells. I think all those can be changed within the game editor,no?
Yeah yeah heroes vii sucks and it s not worth it,save it,but for some of us this could be smth really good.
Can a moderator open a thread ,and keep it clean, for ideas or even better, sheets with numbers to address the champions health and attack for starters?

From my experience from H6, new version may introduce new bugs, so you should wait and see.
As for not having many bugs, I somehow don't have that impression.

Sounds like a good initiative. It would be reassuring if we could balance the game regardless of what limbic does. H5 is still being worked on and it is so much better than it used to be.

Ehh... thankfully we're not short of those lately.
Master of Orion Conquer the Stars might not be the best game ever but looks like it will be a fun game anyway.
Endless Space 2 is going to be released this year as well, and while the first wasn't apparently that good, its fantasy counterpart Endless Legend is a great game (with a nice presentation of the lore embedded into the game mechanics and factions that play completely different) so an improvement is to be expected. Amplitude Studios was created by some of the old Ubi guys who worked on Heroes by the way.
Thea the awakening was technically released last year but is still quite recent and I've heard wonders of it.
Stellaris, a Paradox game released just yesterday, is actually real time with pause but it somehow also fits the definition, as a mix of 4X and grand stratey game.
Jullian Gollop (the creator of the original XCOM games) has announced a new game (Phoenix Point) which seems to go in the same line as well, though it is unknown when it will be out.
And of course XCOM 2 was released this year as well.
Actually this might be one of the best periods in a long time for strategy, especially for turn based 4x and even more for space themed 4X.
None of them is like Heroes though, which actually baffles me. I can't understand how nobody has yet come with a kickstarter for a Heroes like game. Go figures.

Don't forget Hard West. It's an indie game, so it's relatively small (for the main game you need approx. 25 hours to play through it), but it's a lot of fun too. Well, if you like a game that mixes a Western game with demons and infernal magic .
Edit: Ok, technically speaking, it's from the end of 2015, but they released some new material earlier this year, too.

i frequently drop out of this thread, but occasionally am linked back in. however i check todays posts often, and would just love to see a new title upon refresh that reads Heroes 7 Is Now Actually Ready to Play. wouldnt that be cool?

Came to say that I am really pleasantly surprised with the newest expansion. HELL YEA, DWARFS! And I really appreciate they continuous support. I mean DIABLO 3 on release was awful, and look where it is now. With every patch it is better and better. I think this game has potential and I hope to see at least 2 more expansions with remaining races (Inferno and especially Sanctuary)!!

Indeed Antalyan but if things won't go perfect (no balancing whatsoever), we have to change some numbers. I understand it's not that hard with the editor. Easiest to balance:
-Champions
-Spells
-Creatures (xp gain,movement)
For those it's a matter of numbers. Just replacing them. Skills,i can't think of smtg easy to be done.

I think Lordgraa worked on it but there are some problems with units' animations. You can find more info here: Unicorn info
Hopefully this problem will be solved soon, maybe with the help of devs, then sanctuary from H6 or inferno could join the game ;-)
