Graphics is everything novadays... unfortunately.
I don't have problem with trading graphics for tatcital features, but I am pretty sure, that from Ubisoft point of view, it is unexceptable - game have to shine and graphics is the best way (the cheapest/the safest way?) to do that.
But that doesn't matter anyway, we won't have hexes in H7.

As always, I'm happy to see another entry in the franchise, not only because it's Heroes, but also because there aren't that many TBS alternatives to it, but I fear that yet again they will not deliver...
Please just make this game playable (read: as bug-free as possible) and replayable...

I wouldn't mind an entirely 2D Heroes game. And I suppose many fans also wouldn't. Unfortunately it's probably too late to "turn back" in terms of graphics.
PS: Haha, the Disciple looks like a tribute to the Djinn in H1. Nice!

The game looks like what I'd expect from just about any modern game company that's trying to appeal to the casual masses. The graphics are overly excessive and the effects blinds my eyes. I have just enough interests in this game to make this post and then ignore its existence. I think this game will sell and then be forgotten fairly quickly.

You should read this article (it is in russian language, but there is some pictures which will help to understand the problem with 3-hex-creatures).

I think it is a Golem, it doesn't look like normal stone and it would block a path for no reason if it is just another obstacle.

Because there are people like you who have no memory anymore once there's some eye-candy stuff
Most of the people here have been around since H5, some even before. After H5, we gave Ubisoft the benefit of doubt for H6. After H6, they don't have much credit left (if any at all).
So far, about H7, I like what I see, but like many others, I liked what I saw from H6 until I played it
I have played since MM1 1986...
Anyway, okay let's just complain then cos of our scepticism of Ubisoft

Developers need criticism.
I already said I like plenty of what I see, but there's nothing bad in pointing some easily fixable bad things.
The 3d battlefield flyby is good to impress the gamescon crowds and I am fine with that, but forcing the player to bear 5+ seconds of useless 3d graphics before EVERY battle is silly.
Could be good for a huge game changing battle, but not when you attack a few pixies guarding a small pile of ore....I mean, there will be plenty of battles which will last LESS than the whole fly-by thing.

yes, I will indeed complain when I'm sceptical in hopes of inciting change, thanks, because I don't think the legacy of this amazing series can afford to be tarnished any further with more bug-ridden, bland, soulless, unplayable, piece of crap games

It doesn't really make sense to discuss whether the game is bugridden and unplayable yet.
I agree Haven townscreen as shown is not among the best in the series. It's not among the worst either. I would like to have some more houses present, I liked that about the H5 screen a lot. This one seems like it's just all the dwellings thrown together, which does make it less engaging somehow. I also think the colour is a bit flat courtesy of the fog, I still remember fondly the "dark haven" town we saw in the H6 cinematics, that was really cool and would somehow fit with the new dark look of the units. Still, it doesn't look bad, it's functional, and it's the only town screen we've seen so far, so let's not judge the whole game by this. While town screens are important for the atmosphere of the game, at least it's there (unlike H6 vanilla!) and it doesn't look horrible (like H4), so I think I could live with that.
By far most of the gameplay choices we've heard so far seem good. I'm a bit miffed about the 7(?) magical schools, and I guess we still have a lot of info yet to come on the skill system before we can properly judge that, but I'll wait and see what happens before passing judgement.

if you have a look again, I am not actually passing a judgment on this particular game in that post, but simply expressing that I think future bug-ridden and unplayable games will bury the series, although I actually think it's perfectly reasonable to speculate that H7 will be bug-ridden and unplayable
given Ubisoft's previous record with literally every single one of its vanilla MM products except Clash of Heroes, and Limbic's previous record with MM10, this seems like an overwhelmingly logical assumption to make, at least to me
I really don't believe either party is entitled to a complete lack of prejudicial thinking on my part after their collective string of past failures
