Seraph and Titan on that picture, but that Titan is from DoC and is not usual Titan. It doesn't have to mean anything of course, but I am wondering if Tech Trees will make alternative upgrades possible again, it would be amazing.

The 3d battlefield flyby is good to impress the gamescon crowds and I am fine with that, but forcing the player to bear 5+ seconds of useless 3d graphics before EVERY battle is silly.
As I mentioned before, there is probably a button you can push to turn off cinematics....
@LucPatenaude: I don't think that champion units can wander the landscape freely like in H4 (or any other unit)...this is in the campaign, so anything goes..

I already said I like plenty of what I see, but there's nothing bad in pointing some easily fixable bad things.

Could be good for a huge game changing battle, but not when you attack a few pixies guarding a small pile of ore....I mean, there will be plenty of battles which will last LESS than the whole fly-by thing.
Didn't H6 have an option to turn off that? Something about cinematic animation or view.

It may however be indicating a much more powerful and flexible editor.

No, it didn't. You needed to edit game file to turn off town conversation.

I've just read the whole discussion of the leake portraits of Haven and Academy, I'm really shocked that the Griffin is out even though the official site mentions it! The new Haven image and lineup kinda reminds me of Heroes IV the NWC Heroes V that never happened, which is not a bad thing. Haven is my least fav in Heroes VI so I'm glad they do some reinvention to a repetitive faction.

I'm somewhat shocked about the griffins but the insider on the russian forums said that they WILL be available as campaign-only creatures for Ivan.

Seems that these russian insiders have a harder time of keeping their NDA info to themselves, then our very own Elvin and JJ.

The russian insiders have never respected the NDA tbh. All the H6 leaks came from them
Also, if Griffins are available in the campaign for Ivan, this could also imply they'll be available as neutral creatures

Guess I'm okay with that...
After hearing and interview with Julien (link in the news topic) I'm a bit more optimistic about the engine. The game could still be a bugfest, but at least Unreal Engine 3 will give them a good base for a stable and optimized game. I think making Black Hole create their own engine for H6 was one of the biggest mistakes coming from Ubi. It was too much for quite an inexperienced studio to handle...
Plus the game won't require a powerful rig to play.

Yes, Griffins as (recruitable) neutrals would be great
The insider said that due to the fans outrage about excessive Holiness of Haven in H6, the Wolf Dutchy was chosen for Haven this time around as it is the most 'brutal' and 'down to earth', hence the lineup.

Now that's good news. We'll probably be able to chose between the wolf and the griffin when playing non-campaign related maps as Haven. This is actually better than I expected.

I highly doubt that. Griffins being available to Ivan for the campaign doesn't mean you'll have a choice in normal maps.
On non-campaign maps, you'll play with the normal setup.

Or not. I H6 50SoP Necropolis also had new champion in campaign - Spectral Dragon - but it wasn't available to recruit on normal maps. However it could appear as one of random neutral unit to fight with.

But it seems odd to have a creature with scripts and models and all just in once campaign but not available on custom maps. Wouldn't that just be a loss? I really doubt Limbic would really do such a thing, given that griffins are so iconic to the faction.

That would be the way I would imagine it also. However, there might be the possibility of modders brining the Griffin back into the game, should one want it.
About the new Haven line-up, I like the idea of a darker and more brutal Haven, and there are some things we still need to know before making full judgement (what is the Watcher?) but I'm a bit afraid it will turn out a bit too much like the H5 Fortress - there seems to be an awful lot of human units here. I'm particularly sceptic about the Swordmaster, I must admit that for me, a Champion/level 7 creature needs to be something really powerful, either mythical or otherwise special. If the Swordmaster just turns out to be a really big human with a really big sword (a bit like the nonsense of the "giant dwarfs"/Thanes of H5), it will be a real downer for me.

The swordmaster has cleave. He probably hits multiple targets in front of him.
