Gosh, let's have some positive vibes here for Elrath's sake!!!

Best post I've seen in a while.

It's fine to share criticism, but I keep seeing them being shared to the most negative degree that our community looks like a bunch of Debbie downers bent on communal cultist wrist slitting.

Try to put yourselves in the developers point of view. Yes they have a lot to live up to. But if we can't even show them some positive reinforcement-- the community for whom they are making this game-- how motivated do you think they'll be if they're constantly told nothing they do is good enough. Like, are we still discussing graphics here? It's done, they need to reach out to the competitive market, who cares!

Instead of talking about deal breakers, talk about the biggest deal makers. Constructive criticism.

Here's a challenge. For every criticism you want to make, make an effort to point out one of the things you like implemented so far.

Yeah, they really have the last little chance to make things right...

Heroes 6 was not only bugridden, but had little replayability. One of the problems lies in the number of creatures if you ask me, that's why I'm a bit skeptical about the number of factions. Well some of you will say that H1 or H2 didn't have that many creatures, but I personally like to have more minions to choose from. Hope they will bring more neutrals, and if you ask me, they can throw away the boss concept, because in the long run, it doesn't add that much to the game...

No one said we shouldn't be.

I'm just saying we shouldn't act like an entitled boy/girlfriend who's just impossible to please. If their core market is negative, I guarantee a trickle down effect on the final product.

It's quite easy to say "I'd like this implemented" or "x could use some tweaking" "BUT... y seems really well done so far, and I like the direction they're taking with it."

Wizards Disciples on flying carpets look ok to me.

As for the Ubi hate - people could be a little more nice...or be less dick. Whatever.

Heroes 6 recived all the hate it deserved and more, but burying H7 because of H6 mistakes is rather stupid.

very well, I guess I appreciate that they are bringing back the classic economic system of seven resources, despite it being something they themselves previously described as stupid micromanagement and unintuitive to the general audience

I for one am quite excited for this game! The signs seem to be positive, though as I've said before the demo may have been a bit misleading in the sense that it was extremely flashy. Even the IGN interviewer seemed confused whether the adventure map was turn based out not. I actually liked the fly-by camera for the combat map, but I'm sure it can be turned off like the fly-by camera for town screens in Heroes 5.

Liked the demo a lot.

Seems that the Heroes 4 feature of being able to send the Champion units out to claim ownership of flaggable sites within your own territory or, even, the enemy's territory.

The catapult that was introduced in the Heroes 5: Tribes of the East(v.3.1) has been re-introduced in the game + the ability to direct its attacking angles toward the invading champion units of the enemy(wizards of within the demo video).

Absolutely love the new battlefields and, the spell casting way of doing it via a spell book. Do not know if you have it auto. like Heroes 5 or is it back like Heroes 2, 3 and, 6.

Very fond of the user friendly approach at being able to zoom in and out of the Adventure map whenever you feel like doing so at your own free will. Do not know if you can do so in the battlefield though but, it is not really necessary(to my own liking, anyway).

Please note that the towns are fully developed up to the Castle fortifications of both cities in the demo in order to fully demonstrate the options available to the game. Squirmish scenarios of all kinds of sizes will start as a village, most of the time. Once again, it will all depend on the map's maker to decide otherwise. Story based map or not, just like Heroes 3 used to be, in majority.

Well, that's it, in my end of my fully detailed observation of the overall functionality of the early workings of this next instalment of MMH7.

BTW: Settlers 8 in already in beta stage and, will be published-released sometime in Fall of this year(2014).

Looks promising. There is only one major thing I do not like and that is the size of units in combat. Why do they create all those detailed creature models and than make them look so tiny in normal combat view I still cannot grasp. Same thing was in H6 and, partly, in H5. Combat view should be closer to H3 or H2: more down to earth, not so far away/isometric. But, I doubt that it is going to change.

Other things have a lot of potential.

It doesn't really make sense to discuss whether the game is bugridden and unplayable yet.

if you have a look again, I am not actually passing a judgment on this particular game in that post, but simply expressing that I think future bug-ridden and unplayable games will bury the series, although I actually think it's perfectly reasonable to speculate that H7 will be bug-ridden and unplayable

given Ubisoft's previous record with literally every single one of its vanilla MM products except Clash of Heroes, and Limbic's previous record with MM10, this seems like an overwhelmingly logical assumption to make, at least to me
I really don't believe either party is entitled to a complete lack of prejudicial thinking on my part after their collective string of past failures

My bullsnow detector ( which isn't 100 % reliable of course ) tells me that if they intended to offer a better multiplayer service with 1 massive server that doesn't bug, they would proudly announce it. Instead, radio silence. Same for simultaneous turns and bugs in general.

I haven't seen them hand in hand and it's been a while since I played any of the previous titles.. But they should not look as tiny as in H6.

tWell, I really hope that they get it right. That trend of broadening the battlefield by adding debris all around that led to downsizing of the real battlefield that persists since H5 was a mistake imo. When the designers lift the view it only tells me that they are unsure in themselves to create a viewable battlefield from a lower perspective. I think the prime reason why this happened was because someone said that we need "realistic" walls during sieges, so the units had to be scaled down relative wise, and it persisted throughout.

You couldn't flag anything with just creatures, you couldn't visit any building either, you had to have a hero.
