Impressive article !!! Thx a lot for this jewel of information learned a lot in there

Here is a little article in polish, you can find some more renders in the net. Jon van Caneghem was making it, Rob King would make the music. One of the most interesting ideas? Core spells plus unique ones for each faction...
Funny thing is, the game even had an idea for a Valkyrie unit, one that many guys here on the forum would like to see in a Heroes game...
PS: Oh, and a Draconic town. Yes, p-l-e-a-s-e!
Thanks, just saw this
And after people wonder why there is so much hate against Ubi… Those artworks are amazing !!!
(Sorry for late response/thank you note I had exceeded my daily post limit, H7 excites me !)

Speaking of Stronghold, did anyone notice that the Orc on the Shadow Council is dressed nearly the same as a HeroesV Slayer?
Could this imply that we're getting Ranaar Orcs again?
The H7 homepage says: "Ivan’s master-of-arms, a proud descendant of the Whitespear clan, will be representing the Orc clans"
The councilmembers doesn't have to represent the actual faction in game though. As it has been hinted at least.
I'm hoping for the darkskull clanBLACKskull clan. With behemonts and thunderbirds.
Made a little correction if you are talking about the clan introduced in DoC.
Whitesprear is more of an Ranaar Pao clan, Kraal was from this clan aswell. So again a connection to the Griffin history.
But I hope orcs will have more to say then the old "Standing your ground" leson as they always have.

Funny, I recall Kraal being a Red-Skull.

Quote: Warchief of the Whitespear Clan from Redskull Island
That's probably why my memory of it was flawed.
It seems that, if the Wiki is to be believed, that the Whitespear are a tribe of Island Orcs, who've adopted more Ranaarian customs over time since they moved into the Mountians of the Griffin Duchy.

Kraal was:
a) from Whitespear Clan
b) Whitespear Clan lived on Red Skull Island
c) Red Skull Island is on Pao Archipelago.
So Kraal and Whitespears are Pao Orcs
Black Skull Clan however is (was?) Ranaar Orcs Clan.

If this proves anything, it's that Ubisoft needs to make more distinguishable Orcy names.

Hip Hip hoorah!
Great news. Did not like the reputation system much, too many variations makes things complicated.
I am wondering what the 4 hero classes could be on the main site then? Or perhaps, these numbers will change.
Speaking of classes, I really would like Heroes to go back to factions being Might or Magic specific (Haven - Might, Academy - Magic , etc.). I know H5 had some imbalances with this issue...but those can be dealt with.

Cool Dragon Golem design. If they would introduce it for the Academy faction, not only it would be sth fresh for the line-up (we had a mechanical dragon, why not make a golem?) it could create a nice opportunity plot-wise. Mage's from the Seven Cities, being the smart-asses which they always were, create an army of Dragon Golems. That angers the Dragon Gods, which don't like to see such abominations created. So they decide to teach not only the Mages, but all of Ashans intelligent races, a lesson. Not only we have a nice idea for plot, we finally witness DG in their whole glory!

If it weren't for the fact that the Gods have exceptionally little influence on the world, other then granting their priests visions and the ability to use magic, that might even work.
But alas, the Gods have been off-side since the beginning of the world and untill there will be major retcons or shakeups, the Gods are gonna be exceptionally small players in the stories.

4. Reputation system most likely will NOT return.
5. Dynasty weapons most likely will NOT return.
6. Necromancy and healing will be like in previous games, not Heroes 6. Healing will NOT resurrect.
7. Some creatures and races will be updated from the Heroes 6, others, like Sylvan, Academy or Fortress - are from the scratch. Expansions are feasible due to the existing audience and some existing designs.
4 - Damn shame. It was an innovation that added strategy.
5 - Good. I hated that dynasty crap, ultra bugged and mostly used by people looking to have an advantage rather than a fair fight.
6 - Euh, weird but ok. Some spells are useful end game, others only in small battles. Always been part of Heroes' way of balancing the game, I guess.
7 - ... *shrug* Heroes didn't change from game to game that much anyways. Always had marksmens. Always had angels that ressurected. etc etc.

2. Campaign-only creatures will be available for Ivan, and possibly, someone named Sheymus. One of those creatures will be the Griffin.
3. Bosses are confirmed.
4. Reputation system most likely will NOT return.
5. Dynasty weapons most likely will NOT return.

Oh my god, those are excellent news!!
1. And it looks so much better
2. A cool way to make campaigns different from normal scenarios.
3. Never tried them before, so idk. Hopefully something good.
4. Should avoid a lot of coding and bugs...therefore, four classes per faction is the way to spice up gameplay...it could work!
5. **** YEAH!!
6. **** YEAH!!
7. What we could expect after knowing Haven lineup. Still, if they managed to get Haven this good, Necropolis and Stronghold could be great too with the right changes

It is unfortunate that the reputation system might be out. I kind of like it, and with proper reputation rewards, it might add more replay value.
But now, if the reputation system is out, the four classes are two basic and two advanced classes? OR four basic classes? (I was thinking that the four classes are four advanced classes)

I never thought of advanced classes - actually, that has a lot of potential.
4 advanced classes seem too much for me. 2 basic (might/magic) and 2 advanced (that can be choosen by any of the basic classes) could work.
Man, I hope they start updating H7 website soon!

My guess would be two classes x two genders. i.e. male might/magic, female might/magic.
If it's not that, I think it might be 1 basic class and three advanced classes: might, magic and a hybrid class.

There are not enough skills for it to work properly like in H4. In H4 each skill tree had many upgrade opportunities, so it was easyer to get a specialization you wanted since you only had to develop one or two skills. In the following games the skilltree lacked such depth, allowing only 6/3 points into any one skill. Faction specialization and maybe one of two upgrades per hero class is enough to make each build different enough.
