Oh please, don't talk about objective with out at least being specific about what you mean with them "being the same". In exactly what way are they the same - because they are both female? And is the Pixie even female in the way they are depicted in the pictures we've seen so far?
I think thats it yeah, that they're both "fairies" and having two fairies on the team will ruin the game for some people, isnt that weird?

I am as biased as these guys are, most of them are voting balance not because of the whole lineup but because of the Phoenix in it, no matter that it doesn't have Unicorn that probably is the most iconic Sylvan unit in the game(as unlike Phoenix, it was in the same faction every single game), but hey, it has Blue Chickens! And like that, I absolutely despise Moonixes(yeah, this name is horrible but to be honest they don't even deserve to be called better with that disgusting design).
I stopped liking Phoenixes long time ago, as I think that they are the most overused creatures in every franchise just like Griffins, but if they have to add Phoenixes I would like to see them as they were in H5. Birds made of Fire that are being summoned by learning a spell and casting it from the spellbook.
Or if they belong to the Academy, that would also work. Now in H7 that we already have something like that in Academy lineup, Moonixes don't have place in this game. I wouldn't like them even as neutral units.

No I won't go to hell Dwarfurious this should be said out loud
Any dwarf has the same right to be in sylvan as the pheonix has when it comes to "tradition". They both been part of this faction in 3 games, and dwarves in the more iconic ones (H 1-3).
So why can't a Bear Rider be part of this faction? He could easily fit the role of a flanker. The reason is, that since there is Ashan the dwarves have changed, they got their own faction now, their own lore.
And so does the pheonix. It got it connections changed, its lore changed, its color changed. It's been neutral for 3 games since ubi took over (H5, H6 DoC) and with Academy once (CoH), we even have a similar creature there right now. Pheonix would be a good choice for an NWC heroes. This is not an NWC/3DO project. Sorry to for this but it had to be said.

Yeah the phoenix sounds like a phoenix without the characteristics that make it a phoenix. Its a moon bird now. Reading the comments, a lot of the reasons for voting are strange, one is complaining like he knows what the stats of the units are and says they are weak.
Dwarf would die before joining Sylvan ! Bears alone could fit in sylvan, they were in clash of heroes, but eeeh thats a lot of animals in one faction.
EDIT: Just refreshed the page and there are more people complaining about fury having both Dryad AND pixie. I think peoples "reasons" for voting on a line-up are even worse than the reasons they voted for sylvan in the first place o.o oh well, elves are miserable so im happy.

Dryad and Pixies look quite different. I just hope that Sylvan ends up as a balanced race, equal to other races, and thus, playable in multiplayer

i cant believe my eyes what im reading! so you re not okay with two female mythological humanoids and you re okay with haven's two male humans in the core tier, which basically, the only difference between them is the weapon(ignoring the fact that there are 5 humans in the entire line-up with different combat style: books, staff, swords, bow etc)?

It's the Mizu-Kami & Spring Spirit thing again. Both were elemental water humanoids, both were in the same tier, both had a similar feel.
Pixies and Dryads are both elemental plant humanoids with a similar feel. It's walking into the same trap again.

Dryad is humanoid while the pixie looks more insect-like.
Dryad is bigger, pixie is smaller.
Dryad is damage-support, pixie is small damage-saboteur.
Dryad is walker, pixie is flyer.

so since the dryad looks like a mizu kami, pixie looks like a yuki onna? don't make me post the pictures again it's tiring.
the only thing driving people to say that dryads=pixies is that H5 alternate upgrade that shared the name.
they won't make them look similar. and besides the obvious that you stated, they still LOOK like two different things, having their own stats and abilities. no trap here.

Same case can be made for Spring Spirits and Yuki-Onnas.
It's not looks, it's not role, it's element and feel.

I never said they looked too similar, I knew what they looked like for years.
Like I said above, having two humanoids of similar elemental typing and feel in the same tier is simply too much for many people. And I can understand that. To make the same mistake twice is simply stupid.

I think Fury it's the best option, followed closely by Strength. For Strength I dislike the snakes being introduced. C'mon, what are the snakes doing in the Sylvan ? Snakes and Phoenixes are foreigners here

on the feel part you are right.but same applies to the lady-gargoyles and djinns right? humanoids similiar elemental typing (prime), but not in the same tier yet.
but if anyone wants to see one quarter of an inch further (maybe less than that), will see:
-two totally different-looking creatures (which didn't apply to the girls of sanctuary)
-with different stats
-with different abilities.
I am 100% sure that if the H5 alternate upgrade of the Pixie was called Miley Cyrus we wouldn't have this kind of argument.

Fury's advantages :
1- More unique gameplay - a rushing Sylvan who also has defending posibilities (Dryad-Treant combo + Hunters and Druids shooting from behind) ;
2- Totally new offensive unit - the Sun Deer ;
3- No Snakes and no Birds (these don't belong to Sylvan) ;
4- More chances for Sylvan to be one of the top factions in this game (because we all know that almost always the defending races are among the weakest side in every game).
5- Treant as a champion, with a more important role (like it should always be for Sylvan).
