And now for an actual on-topic post:
I don't mind the deer, actually. I'm in for new units provided they add interesting game mechanics. I'm all in for supportive creatures especially, but that's more my sort of thing. It's just that.... unicorns are my FAVOURITE mythological creatures ever and I don't want them to be snubbed for other, undoutably inferior quadrupedals.
Their supportive abilities are the reason why I quite love the idea of the Root Pythons (late to the discussion here but w/e) as well, though I would like them more if they were... i dunno... carnivorous plants or summat.

It's partly why I don't like em. I didn't like them then (they were just "deer", not "Sun deer" or "moon doe", just plain old deer) and I don't like em now. They don't have a feeling of combat, nor do they seem at all menacing. They are just... wildlife. I suppose they are magical, but those just seemed like bland units, and their ability didn't even make a whole lot of sense (They could jump over walls. Why could no unit with wings effectively do the same? Weird choice.)

I played Heroes from the first series and I am so glad phoenix might finally return to the place where they originally belong.
In fact, I was quite disappointed to see dragons in rampart/sylvan in H3 and H5.
As for dragons, I think dragons in two factions: dungeon and necropolis is enough. More dragons are plain and boring. Other factions should have other unique champion creatures suited for its own faction and phoneix is a good example.
I would love to see the phoneix design to be similar to that of H1. That phoneix looked really looked like phoenix, not like some fire chickens in other series.
The design from NWC's prematurely died Heroes 5 looked fine too.
By the way, storm giant, who is the guy in your profile picturr? He looks like one of the pro gamers and I think I have seen him somewherr on TV.

the fury choice of people really made me upset. i was so hyped about this game, but first fortress thrown to the garbage and now worst line up of sylvan/rampart is about to win the poll. i know there is 10 more days to finish but i dont think it will change much now.
im really sad.

In a matter of four days, each composition has lead or tied for first on the polls.
What exactly do you have to be sad about? If the erratic polls is any indication, anything can happen, especially once UBI gives more info on what we are in for.

it would if most of those creatures werent in the Heroes series before snowing WC1 was made (the only one that was in WC before was the deer...as an unplayable demigod who only appeared in 2011 or so and a druid form which came around that date too)

i can only guess that the reason you feel this way is because it was an actual "nature" faction, and you prefer an "elven" faction.
addition: to those questioning the applicability of a phoenix to a faction inspired by nature - it is not the mythological birds attribute of being on fire that is paramount, but its capability for rebirth. renewal and regeneration are the epitomes of the natural cycle.

Well i did that with Dwarves, Dwarves care about Dwarves in games. But was barely able to move the poll 1%, and i went everywhere to find support ;o

and I would like to point out what Dwarfurious said above. Just food for thought for those bitter about Fury.
I know it's easier to believe that someone is cheating on the polls than accept that not everyone shares your universal truth view, but please think it over and let logic and objectivity take the lead.

Yes, like Chris said, let us be logical and objective. We CANT let Fury win because Fury has sprites AND dryads, these are basically the SAME THING and are BOTH female, this will ruin the entire game. Too many humanoids!
Is basically what many of the comments are saying. If you wanna know more about the Deer, play Clash of Heroes, they were a Sylvan unit. What units did Fortress have in CoH you ask? FORTRESS WASNT IN IT GOD DAMNIT.

I don't care who wins between Strength and Fury(I've voted Strength as I like that lineup the most to be honest but I am fine with Fury as well) as long as I don't see stupid Blue Chickens on Fire in the Sylvan lineup.

Well where do you stand on the logical and compelling "But Phoenix have been in Sylvan before" argument ? I'm telling ya, if Fortress had won this thing, this line up would be a cinch. We'd toss a dice because they'd all be awesome choices.

Well if I would fallow that logic. Tell my why could the Dwarve not be in Sylvan... you know why.... the same goes for pheonix

Oh please, don't talk about objective with out at least being specific about what you mean with them "being the same". In exactly what way are they the same - because they are both female? And is the Pixie even female in the way they are depicted in the pictures we've seen so far?
