I'm, although not a %100, pretty sure that I'll not enjoy playing Sylvan if Balance wins.
Phoenix is a creature I have never liked. Actually I find them and their rebirth ability extremely boring. It is a passive ability constructed on the creature's death. Their fire shields/moon auras, fire spell immunity, breath attack, all of their abilities have always been boring. They are extremely boring creatures entirely.
I was disappointed when I saw they were in the game in H6 too. Now they can be champions in Sylvan. It's like a joke.
I just hope Balance will not win.

There wont be any Unicorn in HoMM7... I'm getting more and more disappointed.
If this dont change till the last day (and there is no doubt it wont change) I'll change to balance.
I feel very disappointed from Ubi and all the HoMM community. Seems like the true spirit of the series is already dead and all fans want another dull WOW/Harhammer and etc copy

Yep, only the un-upgraded elementals were, the Firebird/Phoenix was added in AB with conflux.

Ah, sorry 'bout that. I had some strange version with SoD, but with only parts of AB implemented. So I had phoenixes, all those dragons and upgraded elementals, but no conflux town yet (though it was in their background).

To be exact. Firebird was not even in RoE. They were added with pixies and Magic elementals in AB.

now that's a fresh perspective! indeed i would rather see phoenixes as neutrals. that's my only problem with balance. i could accept a root snake everntually but a phoenix, i don\t know :/
so on another note, how would you fare if the opposite line up from what you want, wins? will you be able to play with sylvan?

Dryad is still a humanoid, nevertheless. Agree on pixie though, if it looks like in Compendium, it is not that humanoid.

Pixies/Sprites looked a lot like elves in H5, maybe they won't in H7. But that's the most recent in game pixie.

more then **** 20 years, we were(turkish dudes) considered nothing but orcs, goblins and ogres in fantasy worlds. even in my beloved LoTR 
UNTIL now!elves finally resemble turkish people(or should i say generally west-middle eastern people?). ok ok maybe not in whole, but in music anyways
for the love of baklava and elves LOL!
....
seriously though, this sylvan theme is weird even for me 
we are used to drink alcohol, play instruments and enjoy landscapes with this music you hear. its really weird to see it as a slyvan town theme. so funny to imagine elves doing like us, laying on grass drinking raký playing the music.. lol
btw it reminds me of civ V music, it was also a drinking-relaxing song from our culture, like the slyvan theme we here today.

i feel really honored with this choice of music paul & rob made. not that i really like that much, but looks like i needed this feeling. feeling important...

However she's a reincarnation of dead Elf, so yes, she is Elf too... from certain point of view.

why weren't we that nit picky about humanoid creatures before? what about academy? what about haven (well it's their faction) what about stronghold? i think this poll about the line up drove us all crazy. everyone did say everything there was to be said so lets just wait and see.
