Hey everyone,

When you got the exe-glitch issue happens in single player vs AI did you play with 8 skills or 6 skills?

I cannot get a thought out of my head that I did experience the issue a while ago. It was during that time when I we were troubleshooting multiplayer issues and how to go around them. We had the glitch and the not-been-able-to-pass turn issue but at that time I was considering them as one thing. This is why we could not find anything in my comments :/.

For anyone that has experienced the issue. Start a new game with just 6 skills. Let us know how it goes .

@blackboy: ???, read his thread

@dredknight: combined with unable to pass turn this can be a completely different issue, also AI doesn't work in multiplayer, any testing in multiplayer is pointless for this issue. There is not even circumstancial evidence that the issue is caused by 8 skills, because it should have been reported then much earlier (even before h55 existed).
It is in theory possible it already existed back then, but was only triggered on new hardware or OS.

@Magno,

I think I did not explain it correctly. I meant that we experienced both issues at that time cursor flicking and not being able to give turn (not at once of course) but at that time I thought it is just one issue (not being able to pass turn).

If the issue is due to new equipment it will happen on 6 skills as well.

was there any Ai player during this testing?
was it with utility.exe?
how much time between first occurence of flickering and pass turn issue?

No AI player. The flickering issue occurred to my opponent.
After I pass the turn he gets it but he cannot do anything because of the flickering. It occurred only on his PC and never on mine. The only way to go around it was to start a new game or load a game a week or two behind.

We never used Utility.exe because at that time there was no such exe as far as I can remember (RC3?).

Flickering usually occurred somewhere between end of month 2 onwards.

There is no correlation. Sometimes we got the one sometimes the other.
Turn pass issue occurred much more often than flickering though.

I will make myself play some games against AI and try a few things.

In any case there is still no reason to test for 6 skills.

It's a .h5u file which i inserted in UserMods folder. I'm already trying out heroes 5.5 and this mod is not working. Is there any way to edit it to work on 5.5, or maybe there are some mods designed solemny to heroes 5.5 which i can download?

no, you have to redo the chnages in the .h5u file in the relevant h55 .pak file and remove the .h5u

I tried to fix some of the texts on the adventure map.
Here is the result:

The interesting thing is that the game does not read the ">" sign, that's why I exchanged ">1000" for "1000+"


Description Celestial Shield says: "The effectiveness depends on Spellpower and complete invulnerability can be achieved if the caster has 50 of it".
In my game, I needed 60 Spellpower to gain 100% invulnerability.

I updated the RC10 Beta 4 translation to Polish.
Before I share the translation I have a question about my issues below:
1. Description "Ax of the Mountains Lords" says that increases hero's attack by +5. I noticed that it actually increases Attack by 6.
2. Description Celestial Shield says: "The effectiveness depends on Spellpower and complete invulnerability can be achieved by the caster has 50 of it".
In my game, I needed 60 Spellpower to gain 100% invulnerability.

I started the game with MMH55_64.exe then MMH55_Utility_64 (cursor flickering issue), then MMH55_64_Cursor01. After the next two months of the game when reports of the flickering issue came in also after starting MMH55_64_Cursor01, I went back to MMH55_64.exe.
Did the inconsistency appear between descriptions and the actual state in the relation to the change of exe files? Are rather descriptions incorrect?
PS. My son started the game from the MMH55_64_Cursor01 file. After he launched the game with MMH55_64.exe by mistake, the caravan screen in the city became inactive.
After returning to the MMH55_64_Cursor01 file, the caravan screen became active again.

issues 1 and 2 were reported when the release was already made, but not completely uploaded.

cursor01.exe is now useless because it doesn't contain a solution. for RC10b4 I tried rebuilding the exe from RC5, but unfortunately that hasn't worked either.

Finally I got to know what this flickering issue is from some saves of a person from moddb. The interesting thing is that you can actually play the game with it... That is weird. I thought it got jammed.
