One of the reasons it is downloaded at a lower rate is that there is an alternative link in the Russian forums and most commuters there already use it.

What is the reasoning behind giving Deleb 4 starting skills.

Hi, I've come back to heroes 5.5 again after a while.
I have noticed that Deleb begins with 4 skills unlike almost every other heroes
who begins with 3 skills. Is there a special reason to that?
Is it because as a sorcerer she must have basic sorcery, and with dark mystic
special ability she must have basic occultism and dark ritual, but if she doesn't
also have basic destructive magic she will be too weak?


Also, Is there any other hero who begins with 4 skills?
I want to try playing them to see if they are overpower or not.
So far I already check the manual and haven't seen one,
but I want to ask to make sure in case I missed any.

@mangamancer Deleb has 3 skills + dark mystic specialization which is a skill as well (but improved). Check the official skillweel. You can browse all hero and their starting skills with an ease.

There is just one that is mistaken - Bertand (Haven). In the skillwheel he starts with while in the game he starts with Basic Combat + Martial Arts + Basic Dark. I have also mistakenly put him in the Knight class instead of Renegade.

I will fix that in the next release.

@Magnomagus, I noticed that all Renegade heroes (2) besides Betrand start with the Curse spell while he starts with no spells. All of them have basic dark. Is this an error or there is some thought put besides it?

I recall that in previous iterations of the mod he did not have basic dark and his initial skillset was Martial arts + Basic Combat + Basic Offense(?).

Did you change it to be the same as other Renegades after creature speed changes? ///My thoughts on this - You did this because charge is not overpowered anymore as Knights cannot hit the enemy on round 1 and offense stats is not overpowered anymore ////

May be during this change you forgot to add a Curse spell to his spellbook? Cheers!

@dreadknight but that would make other heroes with dark mystic specialty
such as Ylaya begins with only 2 skills plus one specialization.

Deleb begins with.
basic sorcery
basic destructive magic
basic occultism
dark ritual

Deleb has basic sorcery over her, she is simply better.
not that I mind much about this little unfairness,
I play single player exclusively anyway.
I was just wondering why is it this way, maybe some kind of limitation in modding?
or maybe Dungeon faction or Dungeon heroes were considered better
than Inferno faction or Inferno's heroes?

I tried playing dungeon and found that part of Shadya special ability doesn't work.
she and her troops didn't get that +1 luck.

Deleb doesn't have dark mystic skill, so she does only have 3 talents.  She is getting dark mystic through her hero special, so I think its just an oversight.

Still, not really a big deal given dark mystic is situational anyway, and there are a bunch of casters better than she is (she does have a nice starting skill set).  She isn't even the best demon caster, as Zydar is better in my opinion (Wind Speaker + Empowered Spells).  Zydar is arguably the best magic hero in the game.

NEUTRAL CHAMPIONS: Hard (25% of stacks)

My question.Is this applied to A.I. players too? Does a computer hero will have the 25% to fight with a champion when he fights his battles with neutral stacks?
Or is it an option only for human players?

Is it me or are the high tier units kinda weak in this. 5.5 patch?

Every time i go against the AI my stack of 10.dragons or whatever seems very ineffective against the hordes of low tier units. Even when i get to strike first i can barely make a dent in them and the retaliation takes out large chunks of my stack.

I think high yier units should be stronger given the investment to get them

Homm 5.5 keeps crashing during AI turn. Is there a way to check whats is wrong. I have done all the usual fixes ( deactived artifact merchanst in user setting, write @H55_FixAICTD(); in game consol ).

Any ideas?

@Okrane, usually you have much more low tier units than high tier so this is why it seems like that. If you battle them in equal population size (10 week vs 10 week for example) you will notice the difference.

Yes, obviously you have more, but thats usually the point to climb up the tier ladders, to get stacks which outshine your early stacks.

Right now, number wise also combined with how easy hero auto attacks kill high tier units, they are pretty weak.

Hey, despite I set "casual game" option I fought against AI hero which had so far 17 dragons, 12 Banshees, 120 Ghosts, 52 Vampire Lords, 156 Zombies and 40 Leeches.

While I could afford to buy half the army he had.

How to permanently disable AI cheating in any possible way? There is no point in playing if AI has got resources to build army 2-3x faster than you.

If you set "CASUAL GAME" and you choose at some point to "RESTART MISSION", the game overides "CASUAL GAME", and sets the difficulty you mention.

Yeah but I haven't restarted it. I can't believe that AI is so good and I am so crappy.
It must cheat anyway because it wouldn't be physically possible to gather so large army and have so high level hero playing honestly

Also what gives me weird look is situation when enemy hero goes somewhere, example to take back a mine, then he uses magic to teleport himself to the town. I think that player needs full movement points to do this while AI doesn't?

You can fine tune AI cheating capabilities by editing options in  MMH55-Settings.pak file located in the "location where you installed HOMM5"/data folder.  Even though it has pak extension it is ordinary zip file, so you just open  MMH55-Settings.pak with some zip file manager and edit only file whitin with notepad or notepad++
hint: search for AI cheating options whitin that file.

I am quite bored of the maps because a lot of them have limitations in menu - you are not allowed to choose castle or addremove players. Only few maps allow that.
Is there way to change this except opening map editor and saving map with new settings?

Do you think campaign level cap should be removed?
Capmaigns in MMH5.5 are way tougher due to the cheating AI so I believe the hero cap is not required.

Have in mind that I have zero to none campaign experience and my opinion is based on other people that share suggestions or difficulty opinions.
