it's because i and others are attempting to teach some of you guys something that you should have already figured out yourself, that reaching some of you is so utterly hopeless.

I suppose, you'll have to teach us at gunpoint, otherwise we'll stubbornly reject your pearls of wisdom.

@Sal. Don't just blame the media when he is so god damn incomprehensible most of the time.

And what JJ said, indeed lol.

Worthless argue, because what Trump is proposing is arming teachers WITH already military/gun training background, not all teachers. The level of disinformation in the medias is chaotic on purpose, thus nothing could advance under this presidency: immigration, gun, discrimination and more.

Beside, artu's proposals are already stone laws in more than half of the states, not like we didn't hear about. That will NOT prevent acquiring gun for someone who wants his hour of fame, when you already have weapons on the legal market, the illegal way to get them is piece of cake. The only question is how to take out faster such people.

Well, for starters you could educate the kids that shooting at people is bad and arming the teachers who are supposed to explain them that will achieve exactly the opposite. It'll be like an alcoholic trying to teach his son not to drink.

How that, being alcoholic is a disease, a dependency and provoke the death of that person. Being armed is a constitutional right, in THIS case. One could also argue that heavy trained teachers will explain better what are weapons purpose.

Gun violence isnt the same everywhere across the U.S.A. either though and as I already linked and even quoted in italics, all comparative research show, including the ones that compare only American states and towns, that when it's harder to reach guns, gun related deaths drop. Trying to "do something quick" by arming even teachers will only make things worse in this regard, you will see a consistent rise in mass shootings and maybe (and just maybe) only a few of them will be prevented. (That still means much more victims overall, that's the very simple point.)

Also Sal, since Trump's been president, he did really bad, spoke some utter non-sense, and almost everyone agrees on that, yet I have never seen you, not even once, admit that he's wrong. Without any exception, you always argue how he is the voice of reason (Trump as the voice of reason!, even his most dedicated followers dont call him that), and how the leftist media portrays your beloved Muslim banner as an evil man.

I'm starting to think you're radicalsing in your own way, are you sure that bag searches in your school won't find a bomb in yours one day?

The weapon's purpose is to kill other people, the rest is semantics (the most commonly used one is "self-defense"). Thinking that you need a gun in an environment which is supposed to be about educating growing ups how to behave in society (which excludes killing other people) is not very different from thinking that your life will become better if you hit the bottle one more time.

Now now, Trump originally tweeted it should be 20% of teachers who have guns. In reality 0.57% of the total teaching population is a military veteran. Instead of admitting he didn't (once again) know the statistics and spoke whatever came to his mind, you blame the media for misinformation. Sad.

its the "almost everyone" which makes me laugh. Its just proof that you never go beyond leftist press that you take as granted. Trump popularity and support is higher than Merkel or Macron, yet none of you would suggest the latest did really bad, isn't it?

@Zeno, I am on your side - school should be a sacred place where only education is shared. But when you have, as in USA, millions of nihilist and fame wanabees ruined brats running around armed to teeth, I am afraid you have to rethink the parameters. Thats my point.

Problem is easy to solve:

Just close down the schools. I mean, homeschooling is a constitutional right just as carrying a firearm, so that's a nice fit. They who don't want to make use of THAT constitutional right - well, they could still apply for a place in a military school which would have the benefit of adding weapon training.

@Sal

I'm sure his post-truth voters will remain "loyal" no matter what he does or says, it's the same with Erdogan here. What I meant was, he had been called a disaster by people from all circles of government including his own subordinates. So it's not about leftist media which you seem to be calling responsile for everything except the Titanic.

Except that the same logic would apply for all other leaders as well. And then your explanation loses its sense.

I don't think the solution to fire is more fire but that's been said so many times already that it's pointless to repeat it once again. In reality school and home are the two places where someone's mindset is shaped to the greatest extent and these two places are not always cooperating with each other (which can have positive and/or negative results) - but if you're taught both at home and at school that guns solve problems (why would a teacher or your dad carry a gun otherwise?), you'll end up believing it. It's not that difficult to guess what will happen when you have a whole nation which believes that guns solve problems, we already see the results from such a philosophy not only in the US.

There's such talk about all politicians to an extent, sure. But Trump is significantly worse in this regard and justifiably.

Look, you find him a disaster and justifiably with your points, that's fine. But you can't just arrogantly claim that "almost everyone" thinks same - to emphasize your position, when having such evidence against. Politics.

No no, here he talks about the tax plan the Republicans bring, Republicans doesnt equal to Trump, it's still a democracy and many Republicans complain about Trump just as well, especially insider politicians. What I want is something significantly about how Trump did well. It can be right-wing of course but something professional/analytical (I mean no angry Youtube blogger etc.) Because of dozens of analysis I read or watched about him from all wings, none was in his favor, at best, some where advocating not to exxagerate how messed up he runs things and the system would handle his non-sense anyway.

In that regard, what is really difficult to digest is an opinion like fred's who says, basically everyone is hitting hard on Trump, which shows how brought into line and controlled they all are - instead of everyone agreeing on the simple fact that this bad joke isn't fit to be the manager of a refreshment stand, not to mention the head of the most powerful country in the world.
