Because it has no spikes and his armor looks somehow practical? When I first saw it when they announced the game on steam I thought it was a golem, it looks very similar to the iron golem from h3.

Erwinus throned for ages upon this new world, shaping it as he desired, controlling it with his 7 dragon spiders which could control the climate and were revered as Gods by the poor inhabitants of Ashan. But his regime was coming to an end. A necromancer from another world, capable to control powers no one ever imagined, to twist the void and bend the space, and this necromancer was searching for a new world to dwell in, as his old homeworld, Enroth, was destroyed in an unfortunate cataclysm. His name was Sandro, and he used skeleton magic to posses the body of an Ashan dweller in order to bypass the magic spider egg shell that Erwinus conjured around Ashan. He let Erwinus' servants to destroy his host body in order to give Erwinus a false sense of security and to manifest himself into a new skeletal body, whose bones were hard as steel and his marrow was pure quicksilver. Sandro conjured a portal into distant realms and brought with him people long forgotten, all eager to help him conquer this new world: the minotaur overlords, lizardmen beastmasters, competent liches and many more from the destroyed world of Enroth and the abandoned planet of Axeoth. They spoke also with the people that populated Ashan, some of them got saw the truth, others still continued to serve Erwinus. And thus the Great Sandro Revolution began. It was a fierce battle between Sandro and the Mecha-Dragon-Spider Asha, but in the end, Sandro was victorious and Erwinus, the 7th Dragon Spider retreated into another universe. THE END.
Wow. Great job. A better storyline than all that Ubi and their henchmen have come up with so far.

I think its the result of big business trying to make decisions about art stuff. They know their diagrams and consumer studies but nothing about creativity or how real people work. Warcraft and Warhammer are very successful franchises, so imitating them should bring more profits. Eh...
Sad thing they haven't realized is that Warcraft started out which a bunch of nerds in a cellar doing something original, and its creators and loremakers are still strenuously developing and guarding the originally of the franchise... Chris Metzen was even close to removing an entire class from WoW (Druids) if it wasn't restricted to elven males...

I have never said H7's development couldn't have been handled much better. I realise it well. But isn't H5 exactly the same case? Nival was not able to get skillwheel to the game after two datadics. H5.5 makes the game amazing now but if you look at H5 vanilla... Maybe people are not now as patient as they used to be. Or they simply don't believe Ubi any longer (it doesn't surprise me). But on the other hand, nothing of this would be possible if the game didn't enable it. In my eyes the biggest problem is the very small team. I cannot know if the person who should do the things Lizard does, does not have to do 5 another things
Also I hope supporting H7 is good for this franchise to have any "official" future, especially if I like the game itself and its main features and mechanics.

Yes and that's fine for me. Everyone should be able to do with the game anything to like it, even if it means to change it drastically. But it was not possible to do the same with H6 unfortunately. How much I would have welcomed skills or towns changing mod.

Hey all. Just to confirm that the Twitch Stream is happening on Aug 3rd, the Wendesday before Addon launch on the 32nd.
Stream will Start at 0600 Tuvaluan time (GMT +12) and will last until around 16:45 or until someone drops dead, but no time pressure if it goes over a lot.
I will be on the Stream along with a Art Director (HC_Galaad) And a Gameplay programmer/AI dev (HC_LizardWarrior)
We'll show you everything to do with Fortress, the skill changes, neutral units, a little campaign and answer questions through out.
