Agreed. The effect should have been similar to the effect of the Teleport spell, not have the unit parade across the battlefield. It's especially annoying when obstacles prevent a short path, causing the unit to pretty much move up to the enemy line and back again as it tries to move around it.

I agree here IF we got enough artifacts, we're super far from that. It would need at least 600-1000 Artifacts to be useful for G maps. You have to count in all black markets, Utopias and Artifact Merchants aswell. This would also mean you need to double some of these artifacts.

Which campaign heroes do you want? Are'nt most of them pretty OP?
Boragus, Catherine and Roland would perhaps be okay, but they are already very similar to the standard heroes (and Roland is bugged) Adrienne would perhaps also be okay if she starts with advanced Fire Magic.
Gelu and Dracon would be seriously OP, so would Kilgor and Undead Lord Haart, probably Mutare and Xeron too.

All except Sir Mullich,Gelu,Dracon and Adrienne. And if you think Kilgor is somehow broken for PvP then all armorer/offence specialists  are as well. I'm not even talking about Orrin with bow of the sharpshooter and cannon.

Kilgor adds +5 attack, +5 defense and +10 damage to all behemoths.
Undead Lord Haart adds +5 attack, +5 defense and +10 damage to all death/dread knights.
Mutare adds +5 attack and +5 defense to ALL dragons.

They all sound pretty OP to me.

And yeah Offense, Armorer, Logistics and Intelligence and other specialists are also kinda broken.

Xeron adds +4 attack, +2 defense and +1 speed to devils, which might be okay, but maybe not.

Boragus, Catherine, Roland and Adrienne (with advanced Fire Magic) are okay, but the first 3 are kinda boring imo.

It's understandable that you find them boring but keeping them disabled because of it is just not acceptable. As to them being broken/OP i don't agree with your opinion,there are way too more broken stuff in the game than Kilgor with A.Behemothes.

I don't see the point in adding stats to be super OP...this bonus is ONCE not every x+ levelups. Imho non of them is overpowered except Gelu and even more Dracon. Kilgor could be OP, same as Undead Lord Haart but only because of the additional +10 Damage. the straight +5 are solid but there are much better artifacts in the game doing the same. Anyway -> for now you can't even select them, maybe the new heroes from cove replace them to a certain amount because only 3-4 new could have been added due to hardcode restrictions, rest is replacement via script of the other heroes. But thats just an assumption. I haven't had the time yet to disassemble the code or to dive in the HoMM3 mechanics and variables.

Depends... if it's just variables for HotA see this thread -> http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=42152

First of all you have to know that some versions of the game like wog or hota are reassembled at least some parts of hota are written in Java, thats kinda easy to edit. In the era of homm3 "assembler", "c" and "c++" was very common as machine languages. As for decompiling any software thats already compiled from some ppl in here ask them yourself. Era2 project, WoG project, VCMI also HotA project have an amount of skilled ppl -> decompilers/disassemblers they may help you much more than I can do...

Hi all. I would like to propose an addition to the game.

Can we get a french lobby in the integrated online system in the game? I know the game is very popular here in Québec still and many of my friends still play. A french lobby would help bring more people online as many of us are unilingual still.

Yes of course.

In HOTA there is a multiplayer online lobby system. There are currently three chatrooms in the system: one in english, one in polish and another one in russian.

I would like a fourth chatroom, for french speaking people.

I have a few proposition related to the new RMG Template Editor. I noticed that it's possible to set as a zone guards instead of creatures a Border Guard. Is it possible to add option in which zones would be guarded by garrisons with random (or with some rules) different units of set power. It would be very interesting and more challenging because to be honest for example 100 Nags don't equal 20 Black Dragons etc.

Another idea is to artifacts would be guarded similarly. In map editor there is and option to set guards, maybe it's possible to add it in random maps.

You added a lot of new great water stuff, but most people play without it, so you could add water as a zone type terrain.

And last thing - maybe you can create a simple script language for RMG Template Editor. It could allow to create more advanced rules and prevent adding an infinite number of options in future.

First of all, the 1.5 version is amazing. Love the new version, especially the Highlands Conflux terrain.

Inspired by this new version of Heroes III, which adds a new terrain and differentiates Heroes in basis of Class/Gender, I would add some more suggestions hoping to see in the future versions:

+NEW TERRAIN - Evergreen(Taiga, pines, mist)
Since Conflux is given a native terrain I thought that Rampart also deserves a terrain of its own different from Grass (Castle' native terrain). Given the Heroes III Rampart atmosphere, I thought that an Evergreen Taiga terrain would fit perfectly to Rampart). Here some ideas how it might look like:

+NEW TOWN SCREENS - 1 for each Terrain
It pretty much sums up the main idea. Since Heroes were differentiated in base of Gender/Class, I also believe that towns can be differentiated in base of terrain. This would count something like 10 screens/town. (No new buildings, just background screens). Also, the Map appearence of towns might need a slight edit in order to fit more or less all terrains, much like Necropolis. EDIT: Looking again at the current Cove town screen might be the "Desert" version of Cove given those palms and mountains. The "Swamp" cove might have some swamp trees like that in Might and Magic VI.

+GOLEM FIX
In original Heroes III and even current HotA, the map Golem Factory offers all 4 types of Golems. This gives an "unfair" advantage to Tower players who happen to get one close to their town. So I was thinking about a differentiation: Creating a Standard Golem Dwelling(Stone Golems), one dwelling for Gold Golems, one dwelling for Diamond Golems and then the "combined dwelling" for all 4.

+NEW CREATURES
The Might & Magic Universe offers endless possibilities on what to add. Also, except for "new" creatures it would be good to have upgrades/downgrades of current neutrals(Peasant,Rogue,Nomad,Mummy,Enchanter,Sharpshooter,Boar,Troll, Leprechaun, Satyr, Fangarm).
Some of the new possibilities would be Cultists(MM6), Suckers(MM6), Avians(MM8) etc.

+COLLABORATION - VCMI Mod Design Team
The VCMI Mod Design Team is currently working on two Projects Alternative Creatures (which was part of the HotA plans long ago) and Oasis Town. They have good scripters & modellers and it may be a very fruitful cooperation. EDIT: By this I do not mean that HotA include VCMI, just that they work with the Mod Design Team to bring Oasis & Alternative Creatures in HotA.

After all these years, I miss two features from WoG map editor.

Map Editor Patch 3.3 - it added option to change DEFs and tiles of objects. Screen from Polish version

Brushes. It was Polish-only tool, allowing to choose terrain generated by "Brush" in map editor. Eg. you could choose to generate only trees, or only snowy mountains etc. Screen.

It would be nice to have specialist for every creature in game, even if disabled by default.

More portraits for map makers.

Golem factory without gold/diamond golem. Should be default on random maps.

Gold golems should be considered 4th level unit and diamond ones - 5th level.

Most of balancing changes in spells would be too radical, but buffing Magic Mirror (from 20/30/40 to 25/50/75), Land Mine (from 10*SP to 30*SP), Inferno (from 10*SP to 20*SP), Misfortune (from 1/2/2 to 1/2/3 or 2/2/3), Slayer (it's +8 to att for 1 unit vs. 7th level, compared to +6 from Bloodlust for all melee), Fire Shield (from 20/25/30 to 20/35/50) would be nice.

Option for "random epic dragon" monster would be nice for map-makers.

Dragon utopia with epic dragons variant would be nice.

This could be awesome. But not Dragon Utopia tho. A new building with Crystal, Acid, Faerie and Azures.
