You should know meanwhile that I'm pro-globalist only as a by-product. What I am is anti-nationalist, anti-border, anti-religious and anti-everything that divides people into different categories with different values.
Open borders and free trade on a global level are obviously necessary when we want humans to be ONE PEOPLE which we already are in negative things. A nuclear desaster will affect ALL people as well as a climate desaster, a resource shortage, a virus and so on, and an economic recession in one of the bigger countries will affect others as well.
If you have a different view, a PATRIOTIC one, fine, but in that case you are just part of a group of human dinosaurs who are too blind to see they are already extinct.

Your USA IS already the world because so many people of so many different countries live there. If they can live with each other in the US they can do it globally- Especially since they are all created equal.

Russia today is definitely not socialist. And that was the whole point if you would remember. USSR was wold's second superpower with greater steel production than any country and better heavy industry, and was destroyed by Pro-USA yeltsin neoliberal policies and the appeaser Gorbachov.- Still, Russia retains from USSR times the ability to create nuclear icebreakers (only country), manned space stations (debatable if USA even can now), functional orbital rockets with human cargo (just them and Musk), etc. which are definitely things Korea or Brazil can't do. And in some cases (such as supersonic nuclear missiles) that USA can't do either. Putin has threatened that any open interference will bring about the usage of these dreaded weapons and that's why not even the most warmongering of the western states voices dared suggest that NATO fully step in.
Russian GDP is deflated due to low exchange rate. GPD (Purchasing Power Parity) shows that Russian economy is as big as Germany's. Considering german econiomy wasn't completely obliterated in the 90's, and is the strongest of Europe, that isn't that bad.
The westerners have a weird fetish of both overestimating and underestimating Russia. At the same time it's this giant invincible threat, that will overrun the world; and everywhere are russian spies, russian bots, russian misinformation, russian hackers, that can even choose US president. On the other hand it's a poor backwards country? These things aren't compatible.
Yes Russia is big, but most of that territory is inhospitable and barely inhabited Siberian wastes. Over two thirds of Russian population is in the "small" european part (that even then constitues 40% of Europe's land area). And even then Russian population is not that big. It's less than half USA population and a significant part (around a quarter) are muslims; Russia is not an homogeneous "baddy" made of clones (or "orcs" as ukranian nationalists want to call it), it's a multicultural and mutiethnical country, significantly more diverse than USA itself due to the multiple native languages and large minority religion. Also, it's significantly more tolerant at least in the 20th century. USA had total apartheid well into the 60's and beyond, Russia didn't have segregation.
On the military front, pro-NATO commentators like to stress how much "Russia is about to collapse due to public opinion", but actually Putin's popularity has jumped from "just" 60% (vs biden's around 40) to over 80% due to the war. Reservists haven't been mobilized, of which there are around a million. Russia is facing over 600,000 ukranian forces (not counting new conscripts mobilizing the entire military age ukranian population that are barred exit from the country by zeliski) with just around 200,000 professional troops up to now. Russia still has vast, untapped military potential and plenty of political stamina. Will it suffice to achieve the war goals? With the whole of US and Europe backing Azovites, nobody can say. It is true that every day the combined output of the "western war" into the war is greater than what Russia can economically muster. But there is more to war than just economy and this is a fight of military doctrines and Ralso about the european supply of gas.
Escalation of this latter isue is very dangerous as UE countries refuse to pay in roubles and have no way of resisting a prolonged Russian cutoff. But at the same time Russia may not want to provoke their "clients" into becoming ever more "Unfriendly". I think in the gas isue lies the true heart of the war and thus the key to whom will have the victory.

Certainly, neither GDP nor GDP with PPP reflect well either the capabilities of the country or the well-being of the population. In fact, the possession of a number of key technologies is of great importance (for example, what NimoStar said), and here Russia is at least as good as Europe (not to mention the resources of raw materials and electricity generation). In general, the GDP of most Western countries is overestimated by several times - in fact, these figures are not related to the real possibilities of the economy.
