Meh, I'm not moderator yet I receive 10-20 daily, which I erase instantly, except if the nick is familiar. Dozens of xx345y#@ asking me how to do this or that in wog. At first I used to answer to each, but when I saw most of messages remaining unread for 28 days I gave up.
With Bloodsucker I used to let him send 3 then did not read or erase. That way he couldn't send a 4th. If I did not do that, he would keep sending up to 50 daily. Crazy guy with a well nailed nickname.
I wish we could have a "friends" list and deny hcm's from others.

Been thinking on this for a long time and I can't wait more.
Why is still the limit of custom avatars/year to only one?
I can understand putting than limit years ago due to server space, or also could be very time-consuming for the avatar uploaded when HC was more active. But now? I don't see Lizzy very stressed by his job...
So there's my suggestion. Could the custom avatars limit raised to 2 starting next year, for example?

Because I could upload a gif that is 10 GB big and set it as my avatar and overload the system and cause eternal damnation and the resurrection of Glycon, the Serpent God and ruler of the Fetal Ocean.
I think that's why at least. If only we had the technology...!!

Actually the 1 avatar per year rule is to preserve memory, HC avatars are uploaded to its server and imagine how much lag/occupied memory would some trolls do by uploading 1000x1000 pixels images. Also that's a form of avatar control, people would be free to upload gore/sexual images that contain inappropriate content for children.
But there's one thing I can do, if you really want another avatar this year I can replace you an older one/the one you requested the same year, that will preserve memory and will also allow members to change their avatars when they want.

Most message boards limit the maximum image size for avatars, so that's not a problem.

Also offensive pictures could be uploaded, while with the current system Lizzy wouldn't allow that 
I can understand the reasons for forcing through an avatar uploader. That's why I asked an increase on the number of avatars per year, a minor change to my eyes

As for replacing current avatars - no thank you, that would just make you work more, and people could get annoying if they started to ask for avatar change each month....

I have to consult with Valery for increasing the avatar limit per year, while avatar replacing applies the same 1 avatar per year limit.
I think it is manageable as long as we put a condition for requesting 2 avatars per year, for example: the user must have at least promising status to can request 2 custom avatars per year, this way we encourage members to post quality content and save memory.

We could always just modify the code to allow members to upload their own avatars. I used to do that a bit at Celestial Heavens.

I could try to do that too, especially since I can access the server's dates via FTP, but it's Valery's site after all.

To prevent others from making the mistake I made recently, the "Clear Fields" button should be moved somewhere where no one would press it accidentally - definitely not where it is right now.

I suggest to change the Age and Gender section in user profiles to Date of Birth and Gender. This way we wont have to edit our age every year. (Most people don't and the info gets outdated anyway.)
