Hmm.
Low budget check.
Heroes VI recycling check.
...
After the first wave of hype, I'm starting to think this game will be an upgraded Heroes VI, and nothing more. Everything looks very similar. No-face Heroes, Underground layout, objects, light effects, it all looks very similar. Which is a good thing, cause I always say that "six" had potential, but in truth, I was hoping for something more...
If this game will be relatively bug-free (and free from stupid ideas like Conflux or always-online requirement), at worst I think it will be a solid entry to the franchise, and at best Heroes VI the way it should have been from the begining...

I guess his reply means we'll hear more Salta&co for battle/terrain music instead of pure R&K, but at this point, I'll take what I can get.
See Poly? now you have something to write down on your log

Please tell me that there won't be Conflux anymore?
Also, players are able to choose starting hero from all faction's heroes, not just a few of them?
Also, if there will be Blood and Tear classes, which is very likely, it will also work for secondary heroes?

Conflux will probably appear (Uplay will be part of it 100%, Ubisoft corporative decision)...they are going to be the most controversial and difficult topics. I imagine our insiders have made clear we by no means don't want Conflux to interfere with gameplay, it showed to be very negative to the game in H6...in this matter, the better we can do is wait until beta Early Access starts and people can give feedback

People, you have to be realistic about the gaming future. I expect that it won't take long, until you will pay Steam, Uplay, Gog Galaxy and others a monthly fee and get a playing flat rate for every game or a certain "channel" of games, say, strategy.

Gotta love when clueless people make assumptions You have absolutely no clue how much graphics and animations costs and yet you assume Limbic has a "low" budget.
If you take in account that there will be 8 units per faction, 6 factions, most likely some neutral units, several dozens of map adventure buildings, spell animations, 6 animated town screens, etc... I let you take a guess about the price. Add to that the development of the game, the balancing process, the advertisement, the trailers, etc...
Having a limit on your budget doesn't necessarily mean having a low budget, but with all their estimations, Limbic considered that with all the other expenses, they could only put 6 complete factions in the game.
And tbh, I rather have 6 solid, fun and well-balanced factions than 9 crappy ones or 9 factions and a poor game.

The townscreens will be 2D. And while I really liked the townscreens in H5 I doubt that they will change them later. It's quite costly to do them in 3D.

Back in the day I also preferred the H5 townscreens, they were pretty cool all in 3D.
But after all this time now with the updated H6 screens I quite came to like the 2D ones. I'm glad they come back in H7

I highly reccomend to read this Q&A - in particular, I really like how they openly talk about user-content (AKA maps, MODs, etc...) right now. In H6 case, I believe it was an almost tabú subject and it turned badly...this time is, at least, much more promising

I think we're seeing the ATB comming back FFX style.
If you look at that screenshot you will see that the horseman is acting twice (there is only one horsemen stack).
I think the number above, is like a set "turn time" minus a creature initiative or something like that. The half-full bar below the ATB might be the "full turn" progress before reseting initiatives. The full turn bard might be there just to allow the hero to act once every full turn or something.
ALl of this is speculation on my part, but again that horsemen stack is acting twice before a full cycle of turns.

The reason for a horseman being able to act twice per turn is the faction ability of Haven, I guess. From the official site: "Thanks to their faith and team spirit, the armies of the Holy Empire have impressive morale, which becomes a powerful asset in battle, where they seem to strike twice as much as their opponents".

I suspect the system is similar to Disciples III where creatures that have enough initiative can have multiple turns in one turn. Because I'm seeing different values above those creature's portraits, if that's initiative.

Nah... They will be cheap in the art department this time, since they already had models on hand from the production of H6 and DoC. Even if they didn't i think they would rather make an ugly game than an uplayabe broken mess like the last time. Even they realaize pulling another crap like that and they can sell the franchise becouse noone will buy their games ever again.

Damn, this thread is 7 pages long already in one day, I wanted to say so much, now read all this and am......speechless
What's that cross in the middle of the adventure map screens....I really hope it's not a fort, didn't like the area of control vibe from H6.
I hear comments about same artwork from H6....they could be placeholders....might change...

Or maybe they know sales are roughly the same cuz Heroes customers are mostly fanboiiiizz that buys them all, whether they be good or bad.
Personally I'd rather they focus on good, bugless coding than super hot graphics, but they know their player base ; about 95 % of Heroes fans prefer single campaigns to competitive multiplayer, and their lack of competitive fire makes it so they don't even notice most bugs.

Huh? Why would these three natural real-world resources not fit Ashan?
Also, am I the only one bothered by how they switched the order of wood and ore in the resources bar on the adventure map? Wood should be listed before ore, it's always been like this and it's weird for it to be different.
I'm happy about the skill wheel, though.
