Still, putting different nations with different religion in one fantasy place is possible. You cant say no. Its not the real world, and this is possible even in the real world. I already appointed where.

There is just one flaw here. In the real world, your different religious nations are all HUMAN

You can change their name, but they are still Dwarves. They are not a different race, a monsters, a beastmen, a spirit or a construct, they are stil Dwarves, just "upgraded".
They get entirely new bodies. That makes them different beings then they were before.
Same goes for Ghouls and other undead. Even though they used to be people, they are not people anymore. And most undead don't even get a new body. The same rules apply, the "upgrade" of undeath, makes them different beings altogether.

Quote: For the Dwarves, each new volcanic eruption is an important event, an opportunity to pay tribute to their Dragon-God Arkath. Many warriors volunteer to participate in a sacrificial ritual. Rune priests draw powerful symbols on their bare skin, to bind them to the sacred Fire. The volunteers them climb to the mouth of volcano at the moment of the blast.
The few Dwarves who survive the ordeal are fused with the elements of fire and stone. They are transformed into Fire Giants, colossal beings of basalt cracling with lava. When they return to their home cities, they are revered as heroes and the chosen of Arkath.
Looks still like giant dwarves to me... now on fire
How does the fact that fire giants are dwarfs who survived a volcano eruption and were transformed by it not make them even more awesome?!
Personally I think the Thanes were the coolest unit of the H5 fortress line-up.

What I don't understand is, why must they insist of this stupid nonsense of creating this absurd lore instead of just saying: Hey, this is a Fire Giant.
I mean, if there was one thing people pretty much unanimously agreed on about H5 Fortress it was: Too many Dwarves. Why then must they tie every bloody creature into the dwarven race, present or former? If they want some lore to justify their presence in the line-up, come up with something sensical. Like: They were enslaved by Dwarves. Or, they also worship the dragon of fire, and hence unite with dwarves. Or, they also live in mountains, so unite to defend their lands. Or, they offer their service in return for dwarven mastersmith goods. Or whatever. It's not too hard to come up with a harmless explanation. But no, they have to continue their nonsense about giant dwarves which pissed off a lot of fans in H5.

Rethorical question, yes? If you haven't noticed, they are not the best writers. There is a fairly big middleground between too little and too much explaination. It's rather subjective but it's still big enough to steadliy hit it. But the writes shoot from the hip and when they miss, they miss by a mile.
Edit:

No, technically they never died. It says their bodies are fused, so I assume their original bodies are inside there somewhere?

Ok, I'll drop it, ignore their origins and believe they are cool, fire giants. One can lie to himself, can't him?

If anyone deserves pay, it's me and Avonu. Between the two of us, we do about 80% of the explaining the mythology 'round here.
Half of the time I feel like I'm teaching. And like with teachers, a great many of you pay no attention to what we say, but we do it for the people who do.

Not exactly, Arugaf!
I'd like to see the most creative, diverse lineups possible for EVERY faction, staying true to popular/traditional mythology, without Erwin's garbage lore!
