That's not an excuse, that just puts them all the more to blame ...
I will give them the credit of doubt and not pass judgement on the line-up or faction in general before we have full info on the line-up. I did like H5 Haven a lot, however.

That may be, but the outrage is a little late. Where was your outrage during the HVI era? That was when it was a major plot point.
Besides, we know nearly all the hybrids have died out around HV. So when we finaly move forward, we should not see them again.

The outrage was that the game was being butchered A little lore anecdote could pass easily among the tens of problems H6 had

I heartily disagree. English is a melting pot of many different languages, so the more a word sounds like it belongs to another language, the more "old timey" it sounds... at least, to me.

Cuirassiers were French Cavalry from the 18th and 19th centuries, so it's a little too modern for the ancient to medieval setting of the Heroes 7.

I started to wonder. If Celestials still exist, this means that the Hall of Memories (this is the English name, right?) was not destroyed, so the canon ending of MMH:6 is the Blood one. Pity.

I don't see why not having a cavalier, stylish, old-timey, and fits with the atmosphere...

Shouldn't it be speleld 'Kürassier' though, what with being a Wolf Duchy unit 'n' all.

We don't have to borrow names from history for the Champ. We could name it based on an attribute or characteristic. Slayer, Dragonborn, Wolf-something.

Ah, yes, Dragonborn, there is no way that will result in accusations of stealing...

I mean, yeah, it's not my fav name either, but lansquenet sounds somewhat reasonable. Or at least I can pronounce that
It's even worse...
Just call him a Wolf Warrior/Swordman/Crusader/Berserker or sth...
Not to mention Cuirrasier... do you want French fries with it?
Definetly, Wolf-something would have been a much better choice. Just say they are unique of the Wolf Duchy, and it'd make sense.

True, it is simple. And it is effective.
Just as Wolf Horseman is simple and effective. You can easily pronounce it, and it accurately depicts what you are talking about!
In fact, Magic Bird is equally simple, and effective! What is a Magic Bird? Why, it is a bird -- hold on to your hats, folks -- THAT'S MAGICAL.
