I mean, the fans were being fooled since long time ago, but him fooling and disobeying his employer? Not only that is far-fetched and brukernavn's take which you quoted is way more reasonable, but why would anyone believe that? The only thing you'd achieve is put Erwan in the light of a madman gone rogue biting the hand that feeds him. Why go that far when he already has so much dirt on his plate to deal with. Overwhelming bias?
That was the point I was trying to make, with a rhetorical question mind you, not a straw man. Learn the difference.

Oh Heroes VII, oh Ubisoft.
I have to say that it was a strong experience to see the story of these games, yes games because this story is not only about Heroes VII, no, that is only the latest, maybe final, chapter.
The questione asked, "Can we say it is the worst" , is not easy to answer. As a player, and a long time fan, I can't say i feel it that way. I still hate H-IV and VI more. But still, VII is the one i spent the least time with.
The community during the development, the bugs after launch, the fact that I finaly had a capable machine and could explore other games this year. I don't think heroes VII is the worst.. but I do belive it is the the most unsuccesfull.
But why? Why oh why?
First of all, I blame H VI, and the prejudice it created. I blame Ubisoft for their lack of funding, and bad marketing. But I also blame the developers and fans on equel level for the simple fact, that we let things like esthetics and nostalgia blind us all, and over look one core problem in my opinion. Heroes is an outdated concept not suitable for a AAA game anymore and needs a drastic rework of mechanics.
Heroes is a simple concept at core, but such concepts can work if done right. maybe, just maybe we should put heroes and the RPG branch get some rest, because i think one thing we just might agree on is, that Ubi made a few good games under the brand (Dark Messiah, Clash of heroes, DoC). but these were all their own thing. Maybe if they tried to make something good, and not something people could like.. we just might get another good game in the brande,

My idea was "Something good, but not a TBS" :-). Don't get tied down by a concept.

That was ubi taking advantage of an existing franchise to sell more than they might have with a new project. Not the fans' fault for not being as accepting.
I certainly approve of the spin offs though. They were by no stretch masterpieces but they were certainly enjoyable.

But H5.5 did just that, it reworked the mechanics in a great way! It took the base, improved and expanded on it. H7 took the base and did a rather half-@ssed job on it.

one of the things that was a letdown was the reuse of the same ability: mages, fire elementals and succubus (if i remember correctly) all have the same nova ability, and that's about it
the skillwheel was a mess, and it took a long time to fix
bugs were far too numerous and game-breaking
AI was horrendous
didnt play trial by fire, didnt find a reason to spend those money on this game, and since it had Denuvo, is not available with a a crack

I don't know if h7 is the worst heroes (because i hate the concept of streamlining behind h6) but it is the only heroes i never have and never will buy. I mean just look at Antalyan's bug list. That looks like a game in it's beta phase (or recently released, we are talking about ubisoft here xD) and not in it's 2.1 final build. That should say it all.

... but as long as I've been there, this "Antalyan" dude has been arguing for the sake of arguing, saying H7 was the best heroes (while it's obviously the worst) and admitting he never cared about the HoM&M prior to 5 (I-IV).
I have nothing against younger people, but if they could just take a sit once in a while...

Heroes 7 can't be the worst in series for a simply reason - that Heroes 6 exists. 
Whatever faults Heroes 7 has, it is still improvement (even if slighty) over Heroes 6.

Hey X-ecutionner. I do hardly ever get offended
But realise please I've never seen H7 (or any other game) objectively the best or even made anyone like it. H7 fulfills my expectations as regards its concept, mechanics, graphics... in some way it's a game almost exactly according my taste (sure I would really like not to have the bugs in or better AI but that's another thing). The game simply "suits" me, that's why it's the best one for me (=according to me).
Your taste might be absolutely different but honestly, I don't care about it (or maybe better to say I don't mind it all) as you can share you opinion as well as I can. And especially when reading many comments about how bad H7 is, I want to mention the things I like there even more, because I would like another game similar to H7 to made, sure this time without all the annoying things.
By the way, it's not completely true that I've never cared about games before H5. I used to have very good times while playing H2 many years ago - but again, as I've mentioned before, its graphics does not appeal to me any longer today.

I recently got my hands on Heroes II, and so far it is the best heroes I've played. Maybe second to only Heroes V. While the gameplay is a little lacking compared to the others, it has an atmosphere like no other heroes game. A feel of fairy tales. This really make it shine as a great game.
Heroes V with Tribes of the east still have better gameplay.
Also, I should mention I started from Heroes V and have yet had the honor of playing I and IV.
