Not sure if this helps, but you might want to try the Grayface patch. Not sure if it still works, thou.

Well, it was supposed to be 12 month wait I think they wanted to give info in the early state, because they kinda wanted to see the players' reaction first. Factory is still more or less based on Forge, which has always been a controversial thing overall, so I guess they wanted to be sure Factory was accepted at first.

Did you try to add it to HotA, if possible?

Regarding the map editor and Gray Face patch:
Sav said: There is.
You need to download Gray Face map editor patch adapted to HotA editor: https://yadi.sk/d/JbbyEUFLdv4hq
Put it in HotA folder and run h3hota_maped.exe with command line key "/p:gf_me_patch.dll". Some of functionality of Gray Face patch will be available (including copying parts of map).
To copy map part enter Obstackle Brush section, click "copy" icon in the top-right corner (near Minimap) and select what map area to copy.
Then start creating new map, click "paste" icon in the top-right corner and select place to paste copied part of map.

Also, how to run something with command line key?
Edit: I still didn't figure it out.

You go to Start and down where it says "Search programs and files" you type CMD , that will open a little window where you can type commands like you do in MS-Dos. From there you go to the folder where your H3 is instaled and there you type "h3hota_maped /p:gf_me_patch.dll" . In my case is h3hota_maped because I use the Hota map editor.

Thanks man. I did the same thing, but I also added the ".exe" after h3hota_maped. Maybe that's why it didn't work.

You can also create a new shortcut and edit its properties and put ''"C:<path>h3hota_maped.exe" /p:gf_me_patch.dll'' under "Target". That might be the most convenient way.

Well its not working.. when I try to copy just plan field with nothing its working , when I try yo copy an area with any kind of object or simple town or anything I get an error and the map editor crashes . Is there any other solution ? Its very very time consuming and boring when I try to create a balanced map and I have to put objects and thing one by one ...

After few more testings it seems the I get the error when there is a Town or a garrison in the area that I want to be copied, with any other objects its working. I guess its better than nothing.

Thanks, but it gives me an error when I try to save the shortcut (I did everything as you said).

Strange. The only thing I can think of is that you're not writing the path correctly in that case. Are you running Windows? What exactly are you writing? In my case it looks exactly like this:
"C:/GOG Games/Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete/h3hota_maped.exe" /p:gf_me_patch.dll
EDIT: The backward slashes keep disappearing when I post? I don't know what's up with that. I put regular slashes in their places but they're obviously supposed to be backwards - except for the last one before "p:gf_me_patch.dll".

Regarding why it doesn't work to copy everything over I don't know why. Sav posted the quote I put in a previous post a few years ago so there have been a few updates since which might've messed some stuff up with that particular .dll.
I seem to remember Sav or someone else from the HotA Crew mentioning that this .dll isn't guaranteed to work properly since it's something of a quickfix but I can't seem to find that quote. Maybe I'm misremembering so correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway glad you found some sort of solution.

HotA_launcher.exe question
Hey folks. I updated HotA to 1.6.1 and noticed that VirusTotal is giving some warnings on the HotA_launcher.exe.
Avira was also reporting something like: [DETECTION] file contains 'HEUR/APC'
I assume all these are false positives, right?

Yes, they are fake alarms. It's more annoying with Bitdefender, though I only managed after an hour to reinstall HotA and HD.

I just found a mistake at the Ancient Behemoth's small picture: it has bigger hands (that look like paws) and also 4 claws instead of 2! Could this be fixed in the next version?
Look at him:
Edit: Cyclop's eye also looks a bit weird...
