Hey, this is very clever idea. Since I've got exams on university started from after tomorow I guess I cant participate. The exam session ends on end of January so I'm off I guess.
Anyway, I still got some questios :
You mean every day you will play one "Day" in the game and after that put your report here ?
You're gonna play through Hamachi ?
The map is official one ? (I'm sorry I don't know this map maybe coz I have translated Heroes or if it's a custom one I don't have it so some info about that map could be useful)
oh and when I'm turned on I would like to put myself some offtopic: Just out of curiousity is there any Ally chat ?
And ofcourse a console or something where you could see what people wrote but text already dissapeard.
Thanks.
Cheers.

Yeah, but check this thread when your exams end - we might not start by then! Quote: Anyway, I still got some questios :

Yes.Quote: You're gonna play through Hamachi ?
No. There's already a topic about that if you're interested. This is more like a looong hotseat game. I'm going to play turn one and before I end my turn, I'll save the game and send the save to Hell_Wizard's e-mail. He's going to download the save and put it into his Heroes/Games folder. Then he will load the save, end my turn, play his, save, and send the save to the next player. But it's not so hard as it sounds. Sadly, there's no play-by-mail option in H3.Quote: The map is official one ?

You mean in-game? Tab > type your message > Enter. (There you go, this thread is already informative! )

We need one more player to start. You can choose either Castle or Fortress. The Rampart player on the central island is supposed to be AI anyway, so we can leave it that way.
Here's the minimap so that you get the idea what it's all about:
There are four big islands, each with two opponents. The Behemoths are on the central island and have to be be defeated before 5 months run out. There are also five small islands, each with neutral towns or level 10 dwellings.

I'd like to participate.
Why not.
Not that I can bring much challenge, but the fun will matter, right?
How exactly will emailgames work? I have no experience with those yet.

Right! Challenge is not important, because we have to play as allies (since you can see other player's turns).
So, would you like to play Castle or Fortress?

I'm going to play my turn and before I end it, I'll save the game and send the save to Hell_Wizard's e-mail. He's going to download the save and put it into his Heroes/Games folder. Then he will load the save, end my turn, play his, save, and send the save to you. You play your turn, save it and send the save to my e-mail. But it's not so hard as it sounds.
Sadly, there's no play-by-mail option in H3, like in Age of Wonders.

This is a good question... I guess we'll all have to use the same .dat file (i.e. the same wogifying options).
Do you guys have some preferences? I think the fewer the better, because too many options might mean a greater chance for bugs and compatibility issues...?
I usually play with commanders enabled and the stack experience set to default... Is that OK with everyone?

Vlad, I think it would be safe to add an event to the map with your WoG options, then send to the possible players or paste it here. A dat. file is giving errors from player to player and may create problems later.

Is this OK, or do I need to set more...?

OK, thanks. I was going to use Back for Revenge.dat and this line: !#UN:J3/^maps\Back for Revenge.dat^; because that's what I used in earlier MP matches. But then again, I don't have much experience in playing WoG online.
So let me host the game and see if this works at all. LOL

IMHO those options are the closest for a SoD map:
ZVSE
!#UN:P2/1; [Players can not leave troop stacks by right-clicking]-prevents cheating while leaving creatures day 7 and getting back more of them next day
!#UN:P4/1; [Players can not demolish towns] (kills the map if all towns are the same)
!#UN:P6/0; [start with commanders] (do you need it? Commanders can unbalance a game greatly, due to unrealistic bonuses-conflux commander make 1/3 of creatures fly or return to unupgraded form)
!#UN:P5/0; [Map isn't wogified]
!#UN:P902/1; [Leave artefacts on map]
!#UN:P7/0; [Monsters do not acumulate in dwellings] (important foe a SoD map with dwellings on)
!#UN:P900/0; [Stack Experience is disabled]
!#UN:K1/1 M1; [Disable Monster bonuses, spawning and plagues]
If you play with experience enabled, the 300 behemots will be imune to almost anything, thus be very hard to defeat before month 5

I agree these settings are closer to SoD, but I'll take my chances with WoG hehe. I will disable stack experience though. ;)
