when are the optimal times to advance and the number of villagers in the dark age? I'm asking because I'm falling behind.
i make the feudal at around ten min but i fall up to a half hour behind later.

What I've read here, there seems to be alot of rookies.
Being a veteran of Age of Empires I want to direct you to Age of Kings Heaven where you can find all the information to become a pro.

@Totoro - Indeed, Heavengames is an extremely useful website. However, I have known of that site and have used it for many years.
I have found that the Huns mean one things: protect your buildings. A horde of about 50 Tarkans can be a huge pain in my side. Or hole, depending on how far I let them go.

Well I find the best way to improve your playing is to play other people. My playing has greatly improved when I played with Guitarguy and AntiPaladin who are quite good at the game. If I had the disc, I would gladly have a few games with anyone that would want some.

I really like the huns because my biggest mistakes are corrected with them.
Forgetting to build houses.

Used to play this all the time, until I bought Rise of Nations. AOE is a great game but I sincerely believe that it cant be compared to RON.

RON is good,but AOE2 is much better. i dont like it when they get passed medival. and ufourntly RON nearly kills civs differnces, with so meny upgrades and so few differnces you miss them.
IN aoe2 the number of civs with the number of unique look,units and technologies was ballanced,so you feel the differnces in playing diff civs.
you dont have that in ron.

I agree, Rise of Nations is pretty cool. I played the trial to death, trying in vain to beat the damn AI. I think I prefer RON to Empire Earth, which didn't impress me that much. RON kinda took AOK and combined it with the massive epochal chronology of EE, among other things. I'll still enjoy the occasional game of AoK, though.

Can anybody possibly comment on my strategy to reach the fedual age?
start
2 villagers look for berry bushes and put mill down.
1 villager builds 3 houses.
create 4 villagers
send all 4 to food.
build up to 10 villagers on food
build lumber camp
build 4 villagers for lumbercamp
advance
Advance finishes approx 12 min. depending on how fast i find bushes.

Bushes are slow. Only farms are slower.
Gathering speed:
Fish by boat Fish by villagerhuntingsheeps and suchbushesfarm

Farms the slowest? LOL. Hardly. Have you played the expansion? Do you realise how important the farm queue is? That easily makes it one of the best ways of gathering food IMO since you don't have to keep building them each time they run out. So as long as you have wood, you can basically get as much food as you want.
