Sorry, I dunno this map, but are the towns half-built? How is it possible to build level-12 structures in week 1?

no wonder.. sylvan is obviously unbeatable on rich maps.

I think about playing it too, but its earlygame weakness annoys me. I hate factions that can't creep super-fast.

And I can't imagine myself playing those treehuggers anyway. V_v

STill wondering if it's possible to beat a good academy player with dungeon. Any insights, samiekl? I see you're becoming quite good with dungeon

On hourglass sylvan is at its best. About academy... i didnt play vs a very good academy player, but you can do it with multiple hit-and-runs using matriarchs (or whatever the new upgraded lvl 6 are called)

Edit: yeah, i hate those tree-huggers flower sniffers too, especially since i'm forced to play many games against them.

super-fast.

You can play fortress. They are obviously even more unbeatable on rich maps and obviously have superior creeping. In final battle it's like defensive formation > sylvan's 1st strike, then runes happen and sylvan just have to go home.

About dungeon vs academy. Dungeon got swift mind(no Jhora + counterspell autowin anymore) vs academy but those new golems are just way too much. Artificered protection is annoying, artificered initiative makes academy's line up act before any dungeon troop besides furies. Academy's main advantage is still multiple hero creeping - wizards can fight way too many and way too fast compared to other factions(thx to sufficient mana + spells). Then each wizard in that band can get resoursefulness - priceless in the long run. What I mean is that academy will most likely get more money and buy more troops/arties than any other castle. So, while testing some castle vs castle scenarios academy should always have more troops and arties to make the test more realistic.

Artificer protection. About wizard vs warlock fight itself. Golems absorbs AOE: meteor shower will do NO damage to ANY creature if meteors hit golems(they will absorb meteors while other meteored stacks will get 0 damage). Golems will be most likely split(2 stacks) and placed to "protect" from AOE. Non-AOE can be magic mirrored so it's pretty risky. For example, formation protecting from AOE can look like:
GTTGDD----
gTTMDDY---

g - gremlins
G - golems
T - titans
M - mages
D - djinns
Y - gargoyles

Arma damages each stack on the battlefield except golems. It's the best dungeon spell vs academy just because it allows to lose much less miserabely.
Academy > Dungeon with arma
but
Academy >> dungeon without arma

Finding itself under an area spell of Destruction Magic together with any friendly stacks, this creature assumes SOME of the damage that would normally go to the friendly units. Half of the damage absorbed is converted to heal
points.(Doesn't apply to Armageddon spell).
The Magnetic Golems redirect 5% per weekly growth in their stack of the damage to themselves. The damage is then
actually converted to healing by their Enchanted Obsidian ability.

My friend, if that description is accurate (i didnt see it in action), you're talking non-sense again.

LOL, so that how it should work in theory.. Well, it just reduces damage to 0. AOE spell moved over some stacks and golems -> the game says "Damage:0 (Kills:0)" And yes, my first reply was nonsense(to take summoning) but that's becasue it was before I played TotE dungeon. After I played I realized that most crucial perks are swift mind and unfortunately, under 2% defnese skill, last stand.
Now, I think dungeon is almost always a threat vs everyone(except vs academy) as long as warlock's troops have enough durability to let warlock cast long enough.

Tested it and you're wrong, it does damage to all the surrounding units except golems. And defense for warlock solves exactly nothing. i told you once, i'll do it again: play vs other (good) players. not the golems are the main threat, but the miniarties. If you wait for academy to build miniarties then you're just a bad player. If dungeon cant start hitting and running in week 5 (the latest!!!) its game over. And thats true vs any other faction. Dungeon has superior creeping-force compared to academy, trust me on that.

and that is correct. I mean EXCEPT ACADEMY part.

I can't recall any serious victory against a good academy player.

Samiekl, that's not correct. Academy creeping is perhaps no longer superior since ToTe got introduced (bcuz of stalkers), but it was way better in vanilla H5 and HoF. And while golems aren't that much of threat, they are just another units that can't be killed by destructive. Also, that's true that the resistance mini artie is a big pain, but the biggest pain is the whole academy town together, with all their perks and units.
