I think the deck can run in both vintage and legacy. However, the addition of moxes and black lotus, and yawgmoth's will make the deck just another black combo deck.

I don't think this deck will cut it for competitive play in vintage since it isn't flexible enough for metagame.

Chalice is pretty good and is a great first turn play to lock down your opponents key cards, but aside from that I think the mana restrictions make the deck unflexible.

I think I'd be able to run some 1 mana spells once I subbed in a demonic tutor and vampiric tutor.

I think this deck is better suited for legacy since you can still have 4 lion's eye diamonds. Everything in my hand is already zero mana except for 1 or 2 cards, so I'd be dropping my whole hand first and second turn. Between dark rituals and lion's eye diamond, jeweled amulet, and paradise mantle, I'd still be looking at consistant turn 3 kills in legacy. All I need is 7 mana. 5 for Ad Nauseam, 2 for grinding station.

I think this is probably quick enough in legacy to not worry about metagame quite so much. In vintage the most successful decks can stop their opponents turn 2 kill, make an attempt to trigger their early kill and then play well off the top of the deck. This deck simply can't do it.

I just remembered that I can run some of the pacts in my deck.

Pact of Negation

I also thought of perhaps throwing in 1 or 2 of Erayo. It should be a breeze to flip in this deck. I could dig for it with tutors, and it will be extra fodder for my opponents hate spells namely force of will.

Erayo, Soratami Ascendant

Playtesting: (Vintage)

I threw together a deck with 3 pact of negation and 2 erayo, then the usual vintage black combo deck cards. I got a 2nd turn erayo and a 3rd turn win. I could have got a 2nd turn win had I floated one mana and waited till I drew a yawgmoth's will and a couple dark rituals.

Playtesting: (Legacy)

Jeweled Amulets don't appear to be as useful as expected. Yawgmoth's Will is very much missed as I have to draw twice as many cards, which means I lose twice as much life. The deck still goes off quite well though 3rd and 4th turn. Seems fast enough to beat Aggro. I can get out Chalice and/or a flipped Erayo 1st and 2nd turn. Fairly consistantly.

(Lion's Eye Diamond, Land, Erayo, Chalice (w/ 1 counter), zero mana artifact) This will really lock down an aggro deck for a few turns. I can sit back and wait to set up my combo for turns 3 and 4.

An alternative to Chalice or Erayo is Mystical Tutor which I'll use to dig for Ad Nauseam.

I think that, judging on the gameplay, that your deck is extrememly reliant on one card to work - Ad Nauseum. Perhaps a Liliana or two could be nice, considering that it only takes three discards to ressurrect your entire graveyard AND your opponent's graveyard, fit for sacrifice. Also, it can Tutor out the Ad Nauseum easily or set your deck up for the card you need on top for the Ad Nauseum. Or perhaps you could get brave and go for a Diabolic Tutor.

But, along those lines, try getting some Tutor cards to pull out what you need.

PS - Doing all of that and then a Tormod's Crypt is evil. I would counter the crypt as fast I could if you tried it.

Liliana looks pretty good. Here's the two decks that I goldfished in Magic Apprentice.

Vintage:

2 Ad Nauseam
2 Grinding Station
3 Chalice of the Void
2 Pact of Negation
4 Ornithopter
4 Jeweled Amulet
1 Feldon's Cane
2 Erayo, Soratami Ascendant
2 Tormod's Crypt
1 Claws of Gix
1 Zuran Orb
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Yawgmoth's Will

4 Dark Ritual
1 Black Lotus
1 Lion's Eye Diamond
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mana Crypt
1 Tolarian Acadamy
4 Glimmervoid
4 Underground Sea
6 Swamp
6 Island

Legacy:

2 Ad Nauseam
3 Mystical Tutor
2 Grinding Station
4 Chalice of the Void
2 Pact of Negation
4 Ornithopter
4 Jeweled Amulet
1 Feldon's Cane
2 Erayo, Soratami Ascendant
2 Tormod's Crypt
2 Claws of Gix
2 Zuran Orb
4 Dark Ritual
4 Lion's Eye Diamond

4 Glimmervoid
4 Underground Sea
7 Swamp
7 Island

I avoided all pain lands because I need every point of life I can get.

As for life gain, I found a couple cards that may work more efficiently that what I've found from Zuran Orb and Claws of Gix.

I also just realized that Lion's Eye Diamond in vintage is used in response to playing tutors. I can still use it in response to playing Ad Nauseam, but it isn't quite as valuable as I thought.

I'll have to revamp the Legacy Deck a bit.

I just played against my brother yesterday! He surprised me 2 time with some insane combos! (They are easy to take out, but i didn't have the rigth cards to do it at thoose to moments.)

First match he used "Phage the Untouchable" combined with "Dauthi Embrace".. It's not a cool way to win, but it's effective, and it works!

The second match he got "(I can't remember the name right now, but it is that creature that gets a +1/+1 counter for each time a card goes to a graveyard.)" and then he used "Traumatize"... That gave him one hell of a monster! And i played with my black deck, without any luck of getting a destroy or remove card.

The name your looking for is Scavenger Drake.

That's a nice combo, but i've got a better one.

plus to fetch

Now all you need is a new upkeep step. That'll fetch you anything from your opponent with converted mana cost 6 or less for absolutely free, since Puca's Mischeif switch's the creatures control but not the attatched auras, so Persuasion keeps your mage safely under your control.

The control-changing effect of Puca's Mischief has a later timestamp than Persuasion. You won't keep your mage.

Actually not, it's Vulturous Zombie! Which is even better than Scavenger Drake ;p And i found a card that makes this combo even more sick!

First play Altar of Dementia. Then Vulturous Zombie. And last Traumatize. (The combo is great because traumatize remove the opponent of your choise's half library, and then the zombie has a lot of counters on it, and at last use Altar to remove the last half part of the library by sacrificing the zombie! That makes you the winner.)

It's awesome

A combo that looks like it is
[ Academy Researchers ¤ Fool's Demise ¤ Altar of Dementia ¤ ] But it's not that cool..

Nice combo, however infinite it may be, it looks quite inconsistant.

Could I see the rest of the decklist?

Edit: I'm unfamiliar with that block. I saw all the various creatures with wither. The deck looks solid to me with a nice infinite combo at the end.

I'm not a fan of the faceless butchers.

Though I haven't seen them used with the deck, my intuition tells me that there isn't much synergy.

You use a ton of different cards interacting with -1/-1 counters, but not Necroskitter.

I don't think splashing blue is worth it imo. You don't have an easy way to tap your leech bonder without attacking, so it doesn't seem to be doing enough each turn.

Its primarily because i don't have red cards that grant haste and i really needed some fluff to stick in the deck.

I rthink i need more devoted druids some more beseech the queens and some mass haste granting.

edit: leech bonder makes infinite mana and clears the field with

Leech bonder + Utopia Vow + Devoted druid...

But the blue is going to go as i have no reason for it to be there.

As for faceless butchers... kinda nice removal on a stick and in a pinch it can do some stuff

Going just green/black is best imo. It would allow you to play stuff like Kitchen Flinks and Necroskitter a lot more easily.

Also get 4 flourishing defenses. Each one will trigger separately. So you'll pump twice as many creatures.

Another thing. It looks like most cards you'll search for are 5 mana. So consider putting in Brainspoil It's great removal for annoying creatures. And it transmutes for all your key cards. (besides quillspike)

I'd also consider adding something to feed off your creature generation.
