Mark smiled and nodded along with her. "Great, do you remember if someone took the bag that was laying next to me while I was sleeping?" Such a helpful pink pokemon this Chansey was. And was his voice really that dead? It sounded like he had decided to gargle some marbles or something...

Mark sat up, a little jot of dread going down his spine. "Do you know where they took it?" There was still the chance that someone might have brought it to the lost and found, dwindling though it might be....

Mark tried to stand, fell on his butt, and then tried again, regaining his footing unsteadily. He felt something drip from his nose and when he put a hand to it, he found that there was a little trickle of blood. So apparently he had hit that door rather hard. He also noticed that he smelled slightly of smoke, but he could deal with both of those later. "Could you take me to it? It belongs to a friend and I don't want someone else to get it by mistake." Mark explained, holding the back of his hand to his nose. "And if I lose it, Mina just may kill me..."

The Chansey bobs her head and waddles out the door. She trots over to the wards for injured trainers and about this time you can hear Nurse Joy shouting in a loud voice:
"RIGHT NOW!"

Mina:
Mina woke again around 7AM, or perhaps a little earlier. Having all her Pokemon safely in arm's reach again was doing wonders for her peace of mind, and as a result even her usual nightmare of opening doors wasn't bothering her as much as it normally would.
She got her Pokemon out and fed them (she still hadn't noticed Ariados' ball), then got ready for the day. There was a fresh scrape on her forehead from when she'd been knocked out, and brushing her hair brought her attention to a bruise on her skull that hadn't been there the day before, but somebody had changed her bandages and—well, she felt well enough to be walking around. She should probably take it easy today though—no major exertions or running from place to place. She wasn't really planning on going outside of town anyway; they were supposed to meet up with Stacey today. And she had been going to check out that Poffin-making exhibit today, assuming it was still being held—
—then she stopped as she realized she had no money for the entrance fee now. She frowned, then shrugged to herself. So she'd need to make some extra PD first, and then sign up. No problem, they were in a city full of people from the Contest, surely some of them would be willing to battle for a wager. She had no money to put up herself, but she doubted it would be impossible to find someone willing to take, say, a Potion or two on her end instead...failing that she could dig through her pack and see if there was anything she could stand to sell, though as most of it was either supplies she might need later or miscellaneous junk the shopkeeper probably wouldn't accept, she'd try battling first.
While she was thinking this she did notice something else: Houndoom was injured. There was an unsightly-looking dent in his ribs, and on closer inspection his breathing was a little off.
"Houndoom my dear, what happened to you?" she asked him. He barked cheerfully enough, but whimpered a little when she very carefully checked the injury. "We need to take you to the nurse and get this fixed," she told him. She called him and the others back and grabbed her pack.
But when she pushed open the door to leave she found Nurse Joy already standing there with a clipboard. The nurse frowned instantly on seeing Mina and adopted a hands-on-hips pose of extreme annoyance. "What are you doing out of bed?"
"Looking for you," Mina replied. It was true enough, so why did she suddenly feel like a five-year-old with her hand in the cookie jar? Oh, of course...it was probably too late to put her pack down and pretend she hadn't wanted to do anything else...
"You lie right back down, young lady!" The Nurse demanded, pointing at the bed.
"I feel fine!" Mina protested.
"RIGHT NOW!"

Mark looked around the corner and noticed the Nurse Joy was yelling at Mina... who looked terrible, to be honest. She probably should be laying- was that her pack on her back? Ooookay... how had she gotten that? Odd. But that meant that he wouldn't get in trouble for losing it... or so he hoped, at least. He considered walking over to her and talking, but then thought better of that idea. That nurse was pissed off as it was, probably wouldn't be a good idea to risk angering her more... But it did leave Mark standing here, hesitating, armless and without any of his pokemon for a few seconds.

Mina back-tracked into the room, looking and feeling chastised. "I need Houndoom healed!"
"Then give it to me and I'll have it treated. But you are going to stay here, and you're not leaving this Center until I say you can!" And then, just as cheerfully as if she hadn't been screaming at someone at the top of her lungs, Nurse Joy turned and addressed Mark. "Can I help you?"

"U-um, I was just making sure that M-m..." The young trainer swallowed nervously, afraid that the nurse might turn her wrath on him. "Mina's bag was s-safe... Please don't hurt me..." That last part was barely a mumble, almost inaudible.

The Chansey guiding you chirps a greeting to the nurse and waves. "Oh!" The nurse is all smiles. "Not to worry, you're fine." Still smiling, Nurse Joy takes her clipboard and Houndoom's Pokeball and returns to the lobby.

And with that absolutely elegant speech, Mark fled into the infirmary, looking about for Mina and seeming to be rather happy when he found her. "Hey there partner, how are you holding up?" He asked, voice crackling a bit and somewhat comically stuffy since he was pinching his nose shut to stop the bleeding.

"She overexerted herself again." The nurse sounds more impatient with Mina than anything. "My sister in Rieva told her not to take any stupid risks, and what does she do? She tries to take down three Bandra Grunts all by herself with a Magikarp." Nurse Joy tsks.

"Hi Mark!" Mina replied more-or-less cheerfully. "I feel a lot better than I look, apparently. What happened to your nose?" Figuring since she was going to be stuck here anyway, Mina called Pikachu back out and motioned for the Electric type to sit where she could be petted.

Mark winced and let go of his nose, pinching it closed again when it still bled. "Oh, a door got the drop on me. Watch out for those things, they're killers just waiting to pounce." He still seemed to be a bit concerned, eyebrows furrowed together, as he asked, "So your chest and, er, whatever happened to knock you out aren't bothering you too badly?"
