Town Contest Winners 2008!
There were 40 completed factions for this years competition (and one parody). Many showed the influence of H5 having 7 tiers of creatures with 2 alternate upgrades. For many posters, we got to see their artistic and creative talent for the first time.
After the factions were completed, the public was invited to grade the results. 3 people, Momo, Snatch, and Tobius stepped up and graded all the factions. All of the guest judges counted for 50 percent of the final score, with the other 50 percent coming from the judges: FriendofGunnar, Kookastar, and TDL.
The Top 10 factions of ICTC 3:
(guest graders + judges)
10. The Palace by Momo: 40.71 (41.8 + 39.7)
9. High Elves by Vlaad: 40.75 (38.5 + 43.0)
8. The Laboratory by Daystar: 41.00 (39.7 + 42.3)
7. The Burrows by Momo: 41.00 (41.3 + 40.7)
6. The Rift by Cepheus: 41.17 (40.3 + 42.0)
5. The Den - Pantherans by Daystar: 43.12 (40.6 + 45.7)
4. The Clockwork by Tobius: 43.21 (45.8 + 40.7)
Third Place:
(prize: a custom made t-shirt with the faction's logo)
3. The Druidic Order by GenieLord: 43.56 (43.4 + 43.7)
Second Place:
(prize: a custom made t-shirt with the faction's logo)
2. The Portal by Baklava: 44.48 (44.3 + 44.7)
and the People's Choice Award:
with an average score of 45.8 from 3 guest judges...
The Clockwork by Tobius
Prize: Chuck Norris, yes
Chuck Norris
and now...
First Place:
With a combined score of 44.58...
1. Netherworld by GolemCrafter: 44.58 (43.5 + 45.7)
Congratulations Golemcrafter!!
You win King's Bounty the Legend for PC, and a flag and t-shirt with your faction's logo.
Thank you everybody for making this a great contest.
Below are listed all the graders, the number of grades they made compared to the number of grades they could have made, the percentage by which those graders will be weighted compared to each other, the average grade, the top score awarded, and the favorite faction. There were 45 factions total, of which 5 were disqualified for incompleteness.
Snatch: 39/39=100 % 37.3 48 (The Clockwork)
Tobius: 39/39=100 % 26.7 40 (Den Pantherans)
Momo: 37/38= 97 % 39.2 48 (The Druidic Order & The Portal)
Mytical: 21/38= 55 % 43.0 50
GenieLord: 18/39= 46 % 38.6 45

OmegaDestroyer: 1/40= 2 % 38.0 38
FriendofGunnar: 36.6 45 (Den Pantherans)
Kookastar: 37.8 48 (Netherworld)
TDL: 35.8 48 (Netherworld)
note: The "inverse hyperbolic" grade assessment was discarded for being too harsh. The weighting was done on a linear basis instead. Also, the grades were compiled based on the final total of each grade, not the individual grades, which may or may not have been added up correctly.

Now when I think about it... If I walk around in the city wearing a shirt which the words "The Druidic Order" are written on, won't people think I'm belong to sort of a cult?

Congratulations to the top three!
Eh eh eh... and were also the three towns I marked the higher... perhaps I must become a professional judge.
I'd also like to apologize with everyone. I submitted the factions fastly and finished them in a eyeblink without thinking much; in the week following the deadline I thought again about it and had many great ideas. They could have been much, much better with further consideration and less arrogance. I really feel I don't deserve my results.

Congratulations to all competitors!
It really was some fun to read and rate all the factions here. But I got one question since the Clockwork reached the 4th place I really want to know what does Chuck Norris mean?

And nice job winners, all very much well deserved. I had somehow missed the Netherworld and WOWZA!! IMPRESSIVE!!!!

Congratulations to the winners
To all of the contestants, I must say you need not be unhappy one bit if you did not win - I think your creativity and your ideas are highly appreciated by everyone (to a certain extent, that is).
I doubt that if my former faction had to contend with such creative people, I would have won. The level of this competition was extremely high this year and it received much more attention than I expected at first.
Congrats to Kookastar for successfully organizing and coordinating the contest and to FoG for doing a great job accumulating the votes.
Till next time we meet and good luck.
May your kind words reach the ears of Nival's representatives and they send on your ideas to the HoM&M crew!
And may the Force be with you!
