Quote me where I say I support those practises?

It has nothing to do with the moral discussion of the consumption of meat itself. What you complain about there goes more onto the line of PROVIDING the meat. It's a different discussion.

Yes but I'm more realistic. I mean, eating meat is NOT bad, but you have to think the consequences of such "demand", it isn't hand down from God Himself to us (that means: it doesn't appear out of the blue!)

Demand makes business going.

On that note I agree with you But personally, I think that has more to do with the absence of compassion and empathy and respect in human beings (subjectively imposed by the society we live in) rather than the immorality of meat consuption.

How would that respect come from when humans don't even have respect of themselves?

It's not like we are incapable of it. Take a look at the Indians (or politicly correct: "native americans"). They lived with deep respect for the balance of nature and the beasts they killed for food.

basicly, humans can survive without eating animals, but I see your point with over population, but I really don't see cows and pigs over populating if we were to set them free.

And they say cats over populate, but we humans have to step in and control mother nature

You see a cow, it belongs to a human, unless we're talking that country tat worships the cows.

all these if's, cross references, and flawed logics make me want to give up on this thread.. Like I pretty much already did.

Electricity and TV is a whole other thread. TV does not bring death to the innocent unless we're talking far into the future.

That is a senseless argument because you have to look at the consequences, for example:

"Humans can survive without blowing stuff up but that doesn't mean we should blow stuff up."

It simply has no value. You have to think what consequences "blowing stuff up" has.

What consequences does watching TV have? Well, it 97% affects only the one watching and since we all have freedom to choose for OURSELVES (not for something else) then it's kinda ok, compared to for example, slaughtering animals.

Look I'm not saying that it is wrong but just that the TV argument does not hold up.

I will probably successfully argue against any "logical" reason there is to eat animals.

'cause I like to think; I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech and freedom of choice. I'm the kind of guy likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder - "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecued ribs with the side order of gravy fries?" I WANT high cholesterol. I wanna eat bacon and butter and BUCKETS of cheese, okay? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section. I want to run through the streets naked with green Jell-o all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly might feel the need to, okay, pal?

Also because Sam Neill says so

We got a whole  campaign going on in Australia

but a real reason, it provides countless farmers with jobs, not to mention other jobs to do with the processing, transporting, selling, etc of the animals. Especially US and EU I believe, where they like to protect farmers quite heavily. And I dont think they would be too pleased if you took it all away.

I like to think: I like to kill people. I like to blow stuff up. I like to get a nuclear weapon and have it in my collection. (what? why do you ban me from having it?). I like to put it in the middle of the city (I didn't say anything about detonation, did I?).

Why is this discussion still going?

There is no possible objection (moral or not) to eating meat. There can be to the way said meat is produced. End of discussion
