Then there is a health issue.  While eating just meat is unhealthy, so is not eating any meat at all.  Even multivitamin's (etc) can not truely replace a well balanced diet of both.

And hunting is an evil act too. You are perfectly fine with buying your food in the local food store.

If we didn't hunt moose, bear etc we'd have too much of them Xerox...

hunting is absolutely not evil, you hunt animals that are in the wild, it's much better than breeding animals imo, although that is also neccessary.

My father hunts moose btw... it's tasty!

Yeah well I had time to post so I did and besides, I hate that veggie-crap with people not accepting that most people enjoy eating meat.

And about that hunting thing ... is all predators evil? It's the way of nature, simply...

Just pointing out the bad arguments

They cannot be evil since they cannot make a choice since they subjugate to their instincts. That's like saying a computer can be evil. Very poor excuse.

And remember that "people enjoy X" is a very bad argument, same can be said about slaves, criminals, psychos, etc...

I have nothing to add to the plant thing currently.

Eating plants is an evil act, you deprive others of the oxygen they would produce

Well, I like meat so honestly, those veggies can just get a lack of good food and proteins (I don't take pills or anything, never will do so meat is the only way I get it). It's those who eats varied, both vegetables and meat, that usually lives most healthy.

Yeah, we can think and act so intelligent that we kill each other and fight for pathetic reasons... You really think man is so "smart" and "intelligent" that they are almighty? Yes we can think, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't eat meat.

Fine then,  lets go out and kill people then. You know, humans are already to many so why not just shoot them all down?

Seriously, why even live in the forest then? -.-

I take it you have never been much outdoor in any kind of wilderness with actual wild animals... Wild animals attacks if they feel threatened, which they often don't need any special reason to do.

And we don't just "shoot people down" ... we don't "shoot animals down either". Almost all animals that's killed is eaten. So unless you wanna eat other people, don't talk about shooting people down.

That's a reason

Wouldn't YOU attack an animal that trespasses your home?

And like I said, "hey I like X" is a very poor argument in such cases. Ex: "Hey I like to detonate nuclear bombs, so let's do it!"

Btw, never say never

At least, there have been two reports of bears attacking with no valid reason (unless you count insanity, because of brain damage, caused by tumor a valid reason).

If a human trespassed my home I would ask him/her to leave... if an animal did so, I wouldn't care. And it's a difference in eating meat and blowing up millions of people and making the place unlivable. You tell me you think "hey I like X" a bad example, well your isn't any better at all. Killing animals to eat them isn't the same as killing just because you want to.

Humans do that all the time, we call them psychos

@wog_edn: as for the "I like X" I only pointed out it's a bad argument. Of course, it's not necessarily wrong by any means! But it is not solid. That's all I meant.

The omega 13 proteins in rare and raw meat are responsible for the mutations and development of the human brain and nervous system. The largely grain and well-done meat diet that we've adopted all over the globe over the past milleniums has squelched this development. That being said, we still could be eating a lot less meat than we are. The ideal diet would be one that consists mostly of plants & dairy and a small potion of lean meats: eggs, venison, fish, and such. Unfortunately, we'd be better off without the big three: beef, chicken, and pork.

Not like that is going to stop me from eating any of those three things; I'm just saying. We don't need to eat meat? We also don't need to be typing on a computer that was constructed through the mass industry that is polluting this planet into extinction. There's a lot of things we don't need, but we certainly still want them. There's a difference between completely abstaining from everything we don't need and showing enough moderation that the footprint we leave behind is a maneagable one to deal with. The later is more realistic.

Is it me or is JapanGamer being a sissy?

Listen here you.  If you make a thread, you don't really get to decide how people are going to react to it.  Furthermore, OD asked you pointed question and all you did was throw a temper tantrum.  And in case you're wondering, here's the offending exchange.

Who is anyone to tell anyone anything..

Good point.  So why create a thread with the intent of telling meat-eaters their habits and views are wrong?

Quote:
Why are you being negative, this is a VW discussion thread nothing more, nothing less. I never depicted you to be like that OD, If you have a problem with something ignore it, unless it hits a nerve or something.

Why do people eat meat?
Why do dogs lick their sack?

Because they can, that's why.
