Sounds pretty good. I love several previous gen Pokémon and overused them. This will set me a pretty good challenge.
I just hope there will be a couple that will not require TM's to learn any moves over 60 basepower.

It's worked every time I've use it, HOWEVER if the trade you ask for for the Pokemon-to-be-evolved isn't impossible, there's a risk you'll lose it, yes. I recommend finding the Pokemon you'll trade for in advance to minimize the timeframe it can happen in, and only use certain Legendaries for the evolver's offer--Mespirit, Uxie, and Azelf are okay TMK, but Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina are not thanks to an event Arceus.

Perhaps it does. As much as I love Gyaradosses, something new of the like would be cool. I never realy cared much for Milotic.
But it seems apropriate, we've had a likeminded brach every odd generation. Think about it.

Anoooother question from annoying me. Ive heard that DSi XL hasnt got some features older ones had. It doesnt read GBA games and sth ?

why?
I need a DSi XL to play Heartgold - and I realized I could get ALMOST EVERY POKEMON by trading and using pokewalker, so I wouldn't need to trade from other games
Else I still have my GBA and can just use that if I want

So today I finally bought my DSXL with SS for astounding amount of 200Ł @.@
But I dont regret even a bit
So far Im exploring ruins of alph after defeating Falkner so my team looks like :
Totodile - 16
Pidgeotto - 18
Togepi - 10 - at pokewalker (funny thing btw)
Mareep - 6
Gastly - 3
Got some other ones as well. Im trying to gather all Johto starters so ekhem... any help from you guys ?

Ooo, I always forget about that move. What about Skill Swap? Can you swap Truant from Slaking to the Skill Swapper, then from the Skill Swapper to one of the opposing Pokemon?

fewer hoops to jump through to just use gastro acid. by the time you have transferred the truancy your opponent will have taken 2 turns and they won't skip their third but their fourth (in theory). It's a novel idea (and an awesome one) but i feel that it isn't very practical. (but i could be wrong)
I was considering using worry seed instead to give him insomnia. but i felt that a grass type might be a bit too slow and/or fragile. Arbok has the speed to bypass quite a few pokes and the slaking can always use fake out to stun something that could ko it that is faster than the arbok.
After using gastro acid i don't rely on it too much. mostly to use glare and haze to keep slaking in the field. and to be a nuisance.
I wonder how that (insomnia) works with rest.
Bulbapedia says rest just fails... meh.

Let's see, you could try Trick Room...no, Slaking can't learn that...Rain Dance with Swift Swim on your Worry Seeder?...doesn't look like that would work either...maybe...Sunny Day and a Grass Type with Chlorophyll? Bit risky with the whole 'boost Fire attacks' facet there but as Slaking can learn some nice anti-Fire type moves you could at least discourage anything that gets STAB for them.
Gastro Acid would still probably be simpler though. o.o

Yeah, i'd prefer another pokemon other than arbok (preferably one that can help guard slaking. Slaking can handle most enemies. safeguard would be a good option. if slaking is asleep or paralyzed that doesn't help.)
If i'm lucky, they'll add something to work with for this problem.
I do feel evil though when i sent in my slaking against a gardevoir with trace.
edit: Is there any high level training in hg/ss other than the elite 4?

Sunflora, Tropius, Celebi (assuming you can find one, of course) can get Worry Seed and Safeguard both, there are probably more. If you don't want a Grass type, there's...um...Golduck, although no Safeguard there. Another option is to pick something fast-but-frail and give it a Focus Sash. Or maybe something with Follow Me?

Gym Leaders, Mount Silver...not much else TMK; I've fallen back on just plopping my Pokemon into the Pokewalker and doing other stuff. Not much help I know.
